I appreciate you being so open with your past. A lot of us hold negative feelings and unwilling to share. I had to subscribe after watching today. Glad i found your video.
@@bonnie5972 thank you, Bonnie. It’s all part of healing for me, one of the reasons I wanted to start a channel was because there are a lot of people struggling and getting it out of your head really helps, it’s still hard though. Keep going ❤️
Thank you for this insight into the morning pages and for sharing your vulnerability. This helps me on my journey. Your experience with your mum reminds me of interactions with my grandmother. Brushing hair with 100 strokes was also a thing in our house with Scottish ancestry in South Africa! Thanks for connecting across the miles 💗
@@alisonwonderland4438 hi Alison, I’m so happy if it helps even one person to know they are not alone. It’s sometimes hard to know the line of sharing vs over-sharing 😢 I really appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment, it means so much, take care of yourself ❤️
@@ninniank9650 hi Ninnian, I’m so glad it helped you ❤️ I try not to overshare here but I also want people to know they’re not alone and journaling + art can really help. Take care of yourself ❤️
Hi Di Terrific ideas for your journals, I am going to write in the journals that I make and write in it my pain and hurt from my parents and paint over it to put something nice and positive over something that was negative and hurtful in my life. Thank you for sharing! that meant a lot to me. I subscribed to your channel after watching your video: "How to prep an art jurnal in 5 easy steps" , fabulous idea. I will be watching your other inspiring videos. Have a blessed day 🫖☕
@@ginnyscraftroom hi Ginny, I’m so glad you found me, I think there are a lot of us out there that need to heal. Writing the hurt then painting over it is an awesome idea because you’re replacing the ugly with something beautiful. Take care of yourself and keep going ❤️
Thank you for sharing this story with us. Yes I do know about the hair combing and curling. Fortunately for us 5 girls 1 boy , my Mom didn’t show a lot of favouritism.

That's a very true statement, my grandma always used to say "a problem shared is a problem halved!" This is my community as I don't make friends easily, so I share here to show others that we are all the same with our doubts and worries, wherever we are in the world🤗
it"s so sad you had to experience this... This sentence "I'm starting to understand me" is so powerful, and I am so happy for you, because it's so important to know and understand who we are... And now I have to go and search for Rumi poetry! ^^
@@lesliewells-ig5dl hi Leslie, in the “Artists Way” by Julia Cameron it recommends 3 pages of longhand, stream of consciousness writing. That is 3 single-sided pages (not both sides as in 6 pages) I bought myself self one of those pens with 4 colors on them, I change a color a day so I know where one day finishes and the next starts. I don’t force myself to write, no. I honestly found once I started doing it daily, 3 pages is easy, I rarely know what I will write about but it can be a dream, a memory, sometimes I start with a random object on my desk if I feel stuck until my mind opens up! I write my pages then I go for a walk with Buddy, my dog, to try and process or think over whatever came out. I hope morning pages help you ❤️
