Hi John. LOVE your channels! I'm a scientist and can tell you that oxidation can also be significantly reduced if you add fresh lime or lemon juice before blending. Still, I'm going to make the modification. Thanks!
That is good to here. I have been cutting a lemon and squeezing the juice into my kale smoothies, do you have any other tips for kale shakes, lke what i should add to them? I just started a month ago and I am really amateur with my recipe.
AdvancedHarmonics thanks good to know that also, is it that the citric acid effect that literally halts oxidation or merely halts discolouration? Or is it the same thing? Thanks.
Zedo they have the cure for cancer, they just dont want to share it because everyone is getting rich off people dying. its like chemo, they dont need to use it but it makes them tons of money. Do your research, it will break your heart. Especially when you see wee children dying because of greed. We wouldnt have cancer if they didnt put poisons in our water, air, and food. Perhaps you could become an honest scientist that goes into politics. Oh and there is not global warming. Find the trail the money leaves and you will find the greedy people lying to America and the world.
This is my second Magic bullet, and I have to admit that for the price it delivers really well ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCKuMxLnvr6fJd_M4SE-n7trcGj3zEUHq Considering that there are other products twice and even four times more expensive, I think that for one person this is just right. The only problem is that you have to make sure that your vegetables and ice are cut into small pieces because it won't chop and blend well. I made the mistake of putting whole baby carrots with a cup of mixed greens, and it wasn't pretty.. Also be careful not to overfill it, because it will overflow. As long as you follow the manufacturer's instructions for use, you should be happy with this purchase.
Hey John. You could probably glue on some little "legs" to the bottom of your cup that are a little longer than the cork (when inserted into the cup) so that you can set the cup upright without it tipping. This was a great video by the way. I never thought about this issue of oxidation before. And I really appreciate that you've continued all these years in letting God use you in such a loving way to share with others the gifts He's given to you.
John, I subscribe to all 3 channels, have watched hundreds of your videos. This is one of the very best -- awesome demo! (I'm growing a large organic garden and have started juicing, thanks largely to you. You're helping change my life and that of my kids! God bless you.)
I LOVE YOU JOHN YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HAPPY YOUR VIDEOS MAKE ME. IM SO HAPPY TO SEE THAT THERES COMPASSIONATE AND CARING PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD. YOURE LIKE THE BROTHER I NEVER HAD.
Great idea. Tried it out on my Nutri Ninja 24 oz cup. Installed the vacuum valve and used the hand pump. Worked great. Next I disassembled the hand pump and attached to my Foodsaver FreshSaver Handheld Vacuum Sealing System electric pump. Pushed the button on the pump and it worked just as well as the original hand pump, but now no manual pumping. Thanks for sharing!
Only 76,600 views over 21 months? OMG. This was the most amazing video I watched all week. It SOLD me on buying a Nutribullet. I will buy extra bases anyway. I only need to make 1 vacuum base. THANKS JOHN!!! You better call the patent office soon!

Relax. As a practising nutritionist I can say with confidence that you should blend and consume immediately. Minimal loss of nutrients due to oxidation. The nutri bullet and all the other clones on the market are not designed for long term storage. Just as when you cut an apple, you don't let it sit on a plate until it goes brown. If you're really concerned, you should just add a bit of fresh lemon, lime or other citrus juice or pieces to the mix.
Awww John I feel the same way about animals. 😭 I have 7 cats that I originally fostered but ended up keeping. 3 are disabled and special needs. I'm cat mama. Thanks for sharing that smile link with us. I would love to donate to them. ❤️
I love the NutriBullet. I just got the brand new one with 1200 horsepower and it is awesome! Every day for myself and my parents I've been using it for years and it helps the whole family.
Thanks for the info. Was looking into buying a new vacuum blender and this saved me $$$. Got the valves you recommended and the 21/64 drill bit. Worked like a charm. I found I didn't need the cork. The valve does not leak in either vacuumed or non vacuumed state.
I notice that adding lemon juice to fresh juiced ginger root keeps its bright color, and the same for fresh juiced apple - does not turn color/oxidize; I keep both in the freezer until needed.
I bet most people using a nutribullet are already eating better than those not using one. Probably not make much difference to do this for me. I use mine mostly for making cream sauces with cashews, nooch and some spices. I eat most of my foods whole.
For most blender pitchers you will want a plastic square rather than a disc. And it should have a low density to keep it very buoyant and floating, and not be drawn downwards toward the blades.
Sorry if my question may have come up before, don't see it for now, but where could I get that nifty vacuum pump, plz? I figure I could use it with my blender etc., sure looks handy and clearly essential for blending produce.
I was researching which blender to buy when your video popped up. Not crazy about plastic but I am definitely going to do this. make it like a science project with my son whose starting to make his own smoothies. As always I enjoy your videos. Thank you for caring. If there were more people like you this world would be a much better place.
LMAO I found this video looking up how the nutribullet was exploding on people and thought he was making a joke. I think it's even funnier that he's serious about this.
Also, pro tip, to avoid such heavy oxidation in a vitamix or other high speed blender, blend on high just enough to get the ingredients fully broken down and incorporated into the mixture (10 seconds or so) then finish out the blend on just enough power to keep the mixture churning so it's pulling the liquid down into the blades for about 40 seconds. At this speed the blender will still do a good enough job of pulverizing the contents but will not be as violent and over blended. Produces a final product that's much less foamy and more smooth and creamy. Which helps with this over oxidation problem that's trending so big right now.
the vacuum seal is pretty good at keeping things from falling out the bottom - i bought the corks but not sure if they're needed? also why not put the other end of the vacuum seal on the inside? or is it superfluous?
What about for a Vitamix? I know there is a product out there someone is selling with a customized lid that costs the same as your fix with the nutri bullet.
These blenders are notorious for leaking grease and bearings breaking down. With the vacuum in the cup all you're doing is sucking up some grease into your blend. Eventually you'll have grease, rust and some metal flakes in your smoothies. This won't happen right away but I guarantee it eventually will. My blades were leaking from normal wear and its happened several times over the years. I like this blender but recently ive decided to purchase a different one for that same reason. This blender isnt designed for vacuum blending so just be careful 🤷.
Hi John. Thanks so much for showing us this blender fix. Much appreciated. It was so touching, when you mentioned the animal rescue organization that you supported. Heart warming. God bless.🐶😸🍀💕❣️
The bartelli vacuum kit he mentions is not available anymore on Amazon, I found something similar called, Lasting Freshness, comes with 10 pieces and a hand pump for $15. I have yet to use it but it looks like it works.
I’m going to try this the vacuum hack . I have a seal a meal and been juicing then vacuum in 1/2 pint jars for my cooler . Now I use a automotive vacuum tester to vacuum seal mason jars.
I was wondering if a Food Processor can oxidize the pulp mixture(prepping for cold pressed juicer)? Would your vacuum hack work for a food processor? The one I'm mainly referring to is the one that is used with Goodnature's CT7.

Question : the air pump Valves are no longer available to purchase. Is there another brand you could recommend to buy the valves from? The same size that will fit the drill bit you recommended. Thanks!

John, you are awesome! Love you & your videos. I've learned so much & now I can repurpose my Nutribullet into a vacuum - bullet!. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for the simple vacuum method, John. I am so aware of the oxidisation of my smoothies and of how much air I am swallowing with each one I drink because I feel bloated and uncomfortable afterwards plus my blueberry (for instance) smoothies go brown very fast and don't stay purple because of instant oxidisation. Ever since you showed us the Kuvings vacuum blender I have really wanted one! Also, an idea, couldn't the vacuum be pumped once again after the blending to get more air out? I would do that. I have a nutribullet but have not used it for a couple years since i bought my large high-speed blender.
I have the nutrininja iq, do I assume this hack can be done on this too, since it's similar to the nutribullet? Also, is the vitamix considered a vacuum blender and if not, is there a hack to make it so? Thanks for the informative videos!
I have a nutribullet but have read recently that these devices are exploding and causing serious damage to those using them. Lawsuits have been filed. Now I'm seriously considering buying the Vitamix. Haven't used mine since I heard about this.
Have you modified the stainless lids to accept the vacuum adapter and compared vacuum blended + vacuum decanted with vacuum blended + normal pressure decanted? Where is the vacuum hack video of the $85 blender with similar or better performance to Vitamix?
Here is a suggestion: 1) Coat your ceramic knife will coconut oil. . Chop all fresh and frozen solid ingredients down to 1” pieces. . Place in a large, shallow glass bowl. 2) Squeeze a 200iu or 400iu capsule of *natural* vitamin E into: . (1/4 cup of citrus juice + 1/4 cup water). . Stir/shake very well. 3) Spray plenty of that solution all over the chopped pieces. 4) Add all smoothie ingredients into the vacuum-capable blender cup. 5) Pump out the air [Use a “reversed” bicycle floor pump - 10 full strokes will accomplish a lot.] 6) Blend for about 1/3 of total blending time. 7) Then wait 2 minutes and pump out the air a second time. ***Because a little more air will have been released from the partially-blended mix.*** 8) Blend for another 1/3 of the total blending time. 9) Then wait 2 minutes and pump out the air a third time. ***ditto*** 10) Blend for the final 1/3 of the total blending time. 11) Then wait 2 minutes and pump out the air for the last time. ***ditto*** 12) Wait 2 more minutes. Either store in fridge for consumption at a later time, or … Pour into a real (not a plastic!) glass, and sip until it’s gone.
Hello John, I know this video is old, but I love this hack with my Nutri-bullet, but the problem I'm having is Amazon no longer sell the Vacuum Sealer Pump with Vales, is there another one that I could purchase or another brand that might be available?
@@heliocentric9971 The main thing from the kit are the valves - that's what makes this work. There are plenty different pumos available but you can't find these valves anywhere.
what if you just replaced the air inside with nitrogen? It would be interesting to see how much longer stuff might keep if you could add nitrogen instead of air somehow when the vacuum is released.
Wouldnt the same thing apply if you filled the blender cup full with liquid like water with your fruit & veg (like you arent supposed to do) It would then remove all the air due to being displaced by the liquid. I stopped using my vitamix so much and now use my nutribullet for everything. Thinking of selling the vitamix. It is just so hard to get the stuff scraped out of it and clean it due to the one piece pitcher.
Hello John, do you sell an already modified jar that we can buy on your website? And do you have a link to the page? If you don't, I am sure it would be worth doing for people. I would rather buy one already prepared than buy a drill and all the other stuff singularly.

for top loading blenders just place a stiff plastic disk on the top of the juice and it will stop the vortex from forming.
For most blender pitchers you will want a plastic square rather than a disc.
And it should have a low density to keep it very buoyant and floating, and not be drawn downwards toward the blades.
I noticed when you put the cork in you could no longer set it down to fill it up because the cork stuck out too far and it would have tipped over.

why dont you try it and let us know

What is your opinion on microplastics? Is it possible to drill glass, bit by bit (literally)?

Would there be less oxidation if the blender is full?
Great information. Thank you for the heart felt service you provide🙏❤️
Very nice innovation.
John as A thought what about filling the blender to the top with water so that there is not any air. Then it can not oxidise ?
very smart one! I will try this hack. thank you

4) Add all smoothie ingredients into the vacuum-capable blender cup.
5) Pump out the air [Use a “reversed” bicycle floor pump - 10 full strokes will accomplish a lot.]
6) Blend for about 1/3 of total blending time.
7) Then wait 2 minutes and pump out the air a second time. ***Because a little more air will have been released from the partially-blended mix.***
8) Blend for another 1/3 of the total blending time.
9) Then wait 2 minutes and pump out the air a third time. ***ditto***
10) Blend for the final 1/3 of the total blending time.
11) Then wait 2 minutes and pump out the air for the last time. ***ditto***
12) Wait 2 more minutes.
Either store in fridge for consumption at a later time, or …
Pour into a real (not a plastic!) glass, and sip until it’s gone.
The 'Vacuum Sealer Pump with Valves' to which you link at Amazon is no longer available.
Have you found a way to buy the vacuum valves for NutriBullet?
@@alsmith8633 No. I gave up. 😕
Hello John, your videos are amazing, i am saving up now for a slow juicer, i live in Belfast, do you ship over to the UK?
what if you just fill the remaining space in the cup with a liquid would this help with oxidation?
Hello John, I know this video is old, but I love this hack with my Nutri-bullet, but the problem I'm having is Amazon no longer sell the Vacuum Sealer Pump with Vales, is there another one that I could purchase or another brand that might be available?
Go to eBay and search on:
/ food vacuum pump /
etc.
@@heliocentric9971 The main thing from the kit are the valves - that's what makes this work. There are plenty different pumos available but you can't find these valves anywhere.
Did you find any valves? Please link me to them and I will give you good karma :)
Hey John great video. I'll try this hack....btw love your t-shirt! Where can I get one?

what if you just replaced the air inside with nitrogen? It would be interesting to see how much longer stuff might keep if you could add nitrogen instead of air somehow when the vacuum is released.
Does nutribullet offer a carafe with a over pressure release
Have you done this with a Vitamix. With it's 2 part lid it seems like it would be complicated.
I wondered the same thing, I have a Vitamix and I'd like to know how to do it!
Wondering the same thing. Also, any better pumps?
Any ideas for a Vitamix?
Me too. There may be a liability problem for him to sell them though.
buy a drill... LOL!
There is a blender he reviewed on the juicer channel, dynocorp or something, w a silicon vacuum top. Other blenders have vac pumps now.

But, but, but ... does John sell drills?
