“Even though I recently purchased a home of my own, it still feels like home coming in to work every day with my dad,” Andre Gyorgyjakab says. He and his father Stefan, an electrician, work at the Ford of Canada Oakville Assembly Complex. When Stefan started at Ford 30 years ago, he was excited to build a future for his family; seeing his son do a job he loves every day is an added benefit he never expected. Together, they’re a dynamic duo: although Andre is only in his third year of the Ford Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Program, he and his dad have already helped save the company over $1 million CAD.
