    I cannot give you enough thanks for the Woman Warrior cookbook.
    I never thought I would eat vegan anything. I am 76 years young and a heart patient. I never listened to anyone about nutrition. I even did low carb high fat diet but it was not sustainable for me.
    I cannot believe that I like almond milk, tumeric, and can make a dynamite vegan soup. I am sending you a bunch of Warrior Woman hugs. Ann has been an inspiration. I love baby bok choy.
    I cannot believe I am doing this.
    Love and Peace. Elizabeth from Florida.

    😍 Love these apple pancakes. They look delicious! We used to eat these as kids, called „Apfelküchle“ (German for little apple cakes), but of course with all the bad stuff in it (oil, eggs). Great to see 3 generations of plant strong and plant healthy women warriors!

    Oh my stars, I need to make these for Thanksgiving breakfast! (I might just use my apple-core thingy to cut out the core though). "The first one is usually sacrificial". You guys are so real. (That's the taste-tester one I feed to my husband...) Watching Ann idly munch on the sideline just makes me smile. The plates are beautiful, ladies! Yum to the moon!

    I have been making these every morning for some time. I use freshly ground oat and wheat flour but not vinegar, vanilla, oatmilk, yogurt, or flax. Water, baking powder, and cinnamon make a fine less calorie-dense batter. I top it with peanut sauce made with PB Pure, water, and a dab of maple syrup, plus some fresh berries. Talk about addiction. It tastes like it is bad for me. Thanks for the idea.

    Have you tried using an apple corer prior to slicing the apple? Does it crack the slice by using the corer?

  • @oqeox

    apple flax rhymes with apple jacks which is a breakfast cereal filled with junk ingredients like probably artificial apple flavor and a ton of sugar. so this flapjacks, even though not a cereal, it goes after the same flavor profile but with deliciously healthy ingredients, and would make a great replacement!

    Question. I hope you can help. I just started eating plant based yay. I eat twice as much foods and feel better however my fingernails out of no where are now so brittle and soft. What can I do?

    • @TheButterflySoulfire
      @TheButterflySoulfire 2 года назад

      Brittle nails could be a sign or iron deficiency. I’m chronically anemic (even when I eat meat) and I see a noticeable increase in nail strength and reduction in hair fall when I take a liquid iron supplement.

    I meant to say, my mom was "whole food plant based" but with too much fat and salt, and some animal products. Well, she had a minor stroke a few weeks ago, she is okay (probably because her diet was better than normal) and has gone 100% whole-food-LOW FAT-plant-EXCLUSIVE! :) her high BP came down to normal, without any medications, from 240/140 to 130/70 in just two weeks. She is also losing 4 pounds a week, and is getting out of bed more than before, walking upright, and relying less on her walker. At age 83, she's proof that it's never too late to get it right;)
