I subscribed years ago because you were relatable with fashion, and although you’ve obviously moved in a different(far more unique) direction, I respect it. Keep doing you bro
Once again I’m just amazed by you, Avery. You’re very inspiring and my main motivation to try and do me and invest my time into things I’m actually interested in instead of just wasting my time caught in a vicious circle. Thank you, Avery, and much love from Munich
See this was crazy because I had video notifications from this, sangiev and paq and it's an interesting measure as to where my interests lie that I picked this first
I honestly wouldn’t even call DRKSHDW a diffusion line. It acts as a sister line to mainline rick in my opinion, with a bigger focus on traditional fabrics such as cotton and denim. The drkshdw items I own are honestly on par with mainline items I own/owned in terms of quality and cut. I can’t speak on shoes as I only own mainline pairs (geos and boats) but I’ve heard amazing things about drkshdw ramones vs mainline pairs.
Hey, I feel like this will probably be redundant for most people watching your videos, but I have something I'm really curious about. Ever since high fashion started to interest me I began to understand its value. I used to think it was all about brands and materials and that you could get the same clothes anywhere else without the flex, which in most cases is true, but it's the shapes, sizes and fits that stand out to me and make it special. I do not own many expensive clothes if I can find the silhouette somewhere else and I'm currently in a phase where I crop sweaters, taper baggy jeans and what not and I'm thinking about all the possibilities. It used to be skinny, regular and oversized, but now I experiment with shapes and forms and I'm loving it. I wouldn't know how you could transform this into a video, but it's a subject I'm interested in. Maybe something along the lines of the most interesting silhouettes in fashion in the past and now, focusing on singular pieces maybe? I hope you know what I mean!
Avery if you’re able to find it somewhere, I would recommend checking out, “Hale County This Morning This Evening,” a documentary that came out this year. Definitely a must watch
@@maggiecm637 You were never really here & shoplifters top of my list! Suspiria I'm a bit questionable about bc why are we recreating it in the first place? But I think I should still give it a shot.

Earls album was definitely one of my favorites from last year. Pitchfork did a written interview with him too that just released last week. You should check it out. Have a blessed day Avery
Always a pleasure to hear about you and your selections! ♡ Hope you are doing great and that the allergies go away soon (: Btw definitely that Yohji Yamamoto sweater is my favvvvv and the color of the CCP shirt is beauuuutiful
I'm gonna totally read The Castle, and watch the McQueen doc!!!!! I didn't knew it was out yet! I've already watched Annihilation and Roma and I loved them (especially Roma due that I'm mexican and it feels so Tarkovsky-ian), I hope you got the chance to watch Suspiria (the Luca Guadagnino one) and Lazzaro Felice! Both are amazing ♡ As books I've been reading Sculping Time by Tarkovsky (even tho is really talking about cinema I think you get the etereal aura of his naturalism in film through his words and is also amazing to watch how he describes life) and To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf, it can get a little heavy to read (easy to get lost) but is like she wrote the stream of conciousness of her characters! Music wise, I think I've been listening similar things to your recommendations so I wouldn't know what to add, maybe more Tyler, the Creator, Kali Uchis [the Isolation album is amazing and her first one was weird (recorded in one sit), but interesting] and Frank Ocean. I have to thank you because Protomartyr and Bambara have been on my playlist lately and they are absolutely amazing♡ Hope you're doing great Avery!♡
Haven´t seen alot of the movies you recommended, i´ll give them a go next week! O and i have to recommend you the french coldwave band Message. They´re not new but i discovered them last year and they absolutely blew me away. Derniere Nuit and Cendres et Larmes are my personal favorites.

I think you would really like Luca Guadagnino’s remake of Suspiria (Dario Argento’s original is phenomenal as well). Some beautiful settings, a fantastic wardrobe, beautiful soundtrack by Thom Yorke and some very interestingly juxtaposed scenes going between stunning and chilling/morbid. Great work with suspense also. Also, if you are a regular fan of horror - I think you’d like Hereditary. I personally really like these new takes on horror with Suspiria, Hereditary, The VVitch, Ich Seh Ich Seh etc., and I think I remember you liking The VVitch as well.
Soundtrack made my year end list on RYM haha super good. Although not sure the original really needed the remake. What are your thoughts? Just caught The Vvitch last month and really enjoyed it, but walked away wanting to be a witch not scared of them haha.
