This has happened a few times. Between Brothers was canceled midway in its first season with the remaining episodes airing on UPN as a 'second season'. The vision at the time was to see if there was an audience for it to bring it back into production in 1999.
That's the guy who played Raven's dad on That's So Raven!
And the fact that's the only way you identify him just shows how his career went so messed up.

I thought Minor Adjustments was on NBC.
It was and then moved to UPN.
I thought it was on both networks simultaneously
