    These are awesome, and Hugh Fraser is an accomplished actor. I just watched the Sittaford Mystery and he was really funny as he swiched between characters....

    This is a new story of A.C.’s for Me, and it’s fun to hear the name of somewhere close to My Home - here, in Canada - mentioned as a prominent location in it; Calgary, Alberta.
    I live in a town 2.5-hrs North of Calgary, but was in the city for an appointment only yesterday!
    …What a pleasant coincidence!!

    The way that A.C. wrote this story seems as though she may have meant it to be performed as a theatre-production - or at-least for that to be a possibility.
    …I wonder if it ever was?
    (Regardless, I like Christie’s usual style much-better.)
    Thanks for this!

      Tuesdays they have Madras curry, Wednesdays they have American Fried Chicken and on Thusdays they have chilly. So that evening being Thusday that had a chilly evening just before midnight. It's South Wales out in the country. By Saturday morning there will be those waking up thinking it is still Friday night and asking 'How did I get home to bed last night'.

    • @MikeGreenwood51

      Another point is Starkweather was talking about 'chivelry (12:13)' The corpse of the husband was still sat upright in a chair. As cold as cooling refrigerated food and yet he is talking about chivelry. Now if that is not as cold as a morticians slab then Ice is not frozen. These were the days when murderers or murderesses were dropped through a trap door for being less temperate than certain lawyers would warm to. All because she was a rather attractive woman. Heartless but attractive, some may say.

    The writing is good, but I found the characters insufferably unrelatable. The two main characters seem to be imbeciles intent on wanton drama and self-destruction.

    Why do Brits call French doors windows? For the longest time I never knew what authors were talking about when they said "French windows." How idiotic. They're French doors, of course.

    • @earthmama9597
      @earthmama9597 8 месяцев назад +6

      Probably because French Doors look like large windows vs a door being a solid object.
      I just feel sorry for you because such a minor thing has you so bothered when there is a ton if other stuff going on in the world that you could spend that energy on and even make a difference!

    • @drummerboy1390
      @drummerboy1390 6 месяцев назад +3

      Couldn’t you have made your point without referring to people as idiotic because they call them something different to you?
      If you couldn’t figure it out for yourself, all you had to do was Google “French Windows” and all would have been revealed.

      Interior French doors (say from sitting room to a hallway) is often referred to as a French door. A long glass paneled door that leads from a room to a outside balcony or patio or simply to the outdoors is referred to as a French window. Idiotic is a strong word which usually includes a self tell.
