I just retired last week and bought myself a '64 FJ40 that's needing a lot of TLC and elbow grease. I really enjoy watching your videos! And look forward to new ones! Thanks a million for your super videos!
Really glad I found your channel! I had a '66 FJ when I was in high school (way back in 1974) that had a Chev 350 in it. Sold that when I joined the Air Force in '76 (stupid move). Got a '75? while in the AF. Sold that (stupid #2). Got a '74 in the mid-1980s. Sold that one (stupid #3!). Now I'm working on a 1971 that I got in 2016 but has been sitting until I retired this year. I'm NOT selling this one! I was wondering if you felt comfortable revealing your sources for the bad-fitting valve cover gaskets? I'm ordering a bunch of parts from various FJ suppliers and need the gasket. Don't want to order one that won't fit. Thanks for putting the time into these videos. They are extremely helpful!
The bad gasket was from Rockauto.com. If you want good parts go to Toyota first. They have a surprising number of parts still available. Places like Spector Offroad are resellers and buy a lot of their parts from Toyota and put there sticker over the Toyota one. toyotapartsdeal.com is a good place to see whats available. Some times Toyota has been cheaper as well. SOR just makes it convenient but they charge for that. SOR and others also make some parts that Toyota has stopped making. So go Toyota first then the other places. Rockauto.com does have good stuff, that is where I got all of the brake stuff from. Hope this helps!
It runs shifts all water leaks repaired hoses fixed bolts cleaned sounds great gages work time for a test drive that was turffic loved it can't wait for next video never miss a video thank you for sharing and your time really great.
Nice progress! I think you should get the Chevy Blazer fuel tank and put that in as part of this project... These trucks get terrible fuel mileage and an extra tank is mandatory...
The engine really sounds good. I also like the way you straightened that bumper. This project seems to progressing nicely.

Hello looks great nice your able to bend things out. Sounds like it runs good. Have a good day.
good work tanks for the video...
Rule of thumb I've learned over the years owning a 40. Always buy Toyota for parts like these unless you can't.
They are the best
And bam, look at that, it looks like brand new.... just, except for the holes.... you know. 🤣🤣👍
Minor details 😉
