As a Big Beartooth fan i guess i should give you some background of the band, caleb the vocalist is the one that plays every instrument in the albums and he produces also, the band is only for live shows, also in the band he was before Beartooth (Attack Attack) he started as the synth player and after two vocalists changes he took the place of them when he was 16 and he wasnt a trained vocalist when he started Beartooth he started vocal training! If you want something heavy you should listen to their first album thats the heaviest one they have i hope you liked them live! Another band you can react to is I prevail!
I looooove I prevail! I haven’t heard all their music so I’ll definitely look into them. Thanks for the background on Caleb! I will be doing album reactions to their old stuff. My concert vlog goes up on Wednesday!
So this band and specifically this album is one of those that I liked more as I heard them more. At first my reaction was “They’re alright” and then at some point they just clicked for me. I think it’s the passion in the music and his voice. It’s not easy to hear legit emotion in a song yet you can hear it very clearly with Beartooth. Now I jam out hehehe
I believe Caleb has said that Beartooth was always going to be his outlet to express where he is in life. This why he writes nearly everything by himself. As other people have pointed out, the older albums were considerably darker and that goes hand in hand with his alcoholism and other issues he had from Attack Attack. So going through the albums in order really shows his journey. For this album he finally became sober, got in shape to the point he was proud to be shirtless on stage, and slew of other things. So whiles it’s great to know that’s where this comes from, I still can’t help but lean back to the previous albums such as Disgusting and Below.
love beartooth. they're riff masters that write great choruses and have tons of energy. definitely understand they're not for everybody. i think you hit the nail on the head when you they're probably better live.
They were much heavier back in the day. They have turned a bit main stream. Im a big fan, but miss the old stuff. They are great live. You will enjoy them. The lines and the inbetween are ones to check out. Also Caleb has been doing this for a long time, his voice is fine.
@ashlenamusic there's a reason for their sound change I case no one has told you but he wanted the sound to be more positive and uplifting because he was tired of feeling and singing depressing songs in their past albums so if you get a chance check out the old stuff lyrically and sound wise and compare it..
@@ashlenamusic hey no worries you have a whole album a shot and cant fault you for not liking something i loved your Sleep Theory reaction atleast you liked then haha if you wanna give them another shot i saw you liked ST SeriousXM video Beartooth i think has one for the song 'My Disease' its either XM or just an acoustic love that version of the song
Yeah, the singer has also had vocal training to protect his voice and vocal chords because of incorrectly screaming. Their okder music was heavier back in the day though so they do switch it up. This album was also the hapoier album because he dealt heavier and openly about mental health so this is a more personal, broghter side album in a way.
The first of your videos that I watch, and sorry, but you seem like a hypocrite and 'metal elitist' in this one. Your body sends pretty clear signals about how you liked the 'pop-y' chorus of Riptide at 10:30 yet you say you don't like how pop-rock-y they are? Come on. Admit that you like it. I enjoy the new Slaughter to Prevail as much as this, and that's okay, and it's okay for you as well. Metal is a big tent.
@@ashlenamusicNgl I gotta call cap as well. You say you like I Prevail, which literally debuted by making a metal cover of a Taylor Swift song, meaning they were always a poppy metal band and even softer than Beartooth, yet you claim to not like this one because it's "too poppy." Make it make sense. Not to mention your body language betrays you. Either you're telling the truth which is still odd, or you're saying you don't like it for controversy. No matter the reason, I do believe you're hypocritical.
A bit of a controversial album for them. Primarily due to the heavy pop and country influence. Their last album had elements of this sound also, but is much more punk/metal forward. You'd probably enjoy it. And Im pretty certain Caleb has trained vocally. I think he just developed a very raspy sound to his voice as a stylistic choice. 👍
I think you and I are pretty on the same level... realy like Ashlena, here for Aurora, Ren and some other, like the warning but all the ''harder'' tihing are not realy our cup of tea, but as we like the lady we support 😀
I like Beartooth's album Down Below....but you need to try another album, for a better introduction to the....like Down Below or Disgusting. Iwrestledabearonce led to beartooth and spiritbox....it's literally the same founders/members.....
I am by no means a diehard fan, but I love some of their older work and this album was a miss for me. I like a couple of the songs, but it sounded they they were experimenting too much and it just didn't work for me.
I'm here for the honesty! My throat hurts hearing his poor voice sometimes like it's scratchy and dry lol. Totally valid to say they're a bit too poppy, I hear that a lot and I agree. Their lyrics can be pretty corny too! This is actually a very specific style that my husband and his friends enjoy, of being something like pop-punk with metalcore breakdowns. Out of everyone at the show, they're not my top choice and shouldn't be the headliner. But I will say that there are tons of bands where I don't always love the albums but I enjoy the live shows.

Great reactions! Definitely recommend reacting to their first full album Disgusting. It has such a raw and heavy sound to it!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on them live! Just saw them last night, for about the 10th time😂 enjoy the show!
Haha I will definitely be doing a concert vlog! Can’t wait for the show!

Love that

Here’s hoping!

Also will add that this album was all about self positivity, and i think thats why it was softer than there usual stuff.
funny you mention ATTACK ATTACK, Caleb is a former band member
Hahaha I know that’s why I went to listen to them
I hope his voice is fine
I would probably show up late just to see beartooth honestly. Haha!
Nooooo the rest of the bands are awesome

I definitely will give them another chance.
the better me...is the best song
I'm jelly
Caleb has worked with the most legendary vocal coach of all time and is not hurting his voice
Good to know!
This is like the only vid iv seen of someone saying Calebs voice wasnt for them haha and thats fair enough
🙈

@sonbellamy8438 ooo thanks for the tip
@@ashlenamusic eh just re-listened to it dont think it'll be your thing haha
Hahahaha
Your gonna be blown away by beartooth.. they rip it live.🤘🤘🤘
I hope so!

Probably why I didn’t care for it lol

I just don’t like it. I saw them live and still wasn’t into it. Simple as that.
Okay, tough metal chick who grooves and sings along to pop-y rock, you do you 🙂
Aww you sound mad that I don’t like your favorite band. It’s not a big deal. Go listen to them and enjoy it while I go listen to something else ✌🏽

Yeah I’m sure they will be fun live but probably not something I’d listen to on my own time
Like the heavy music and the clean vocals but that not together.
Huge thumbs down, go listen to their old stuff for the harder metal
Agreed
the Diamonds are getting hungry, Ash! we need MORE Marina reactions 😩
This week!
