@@edwardt.8704 man what?! The absolute divestment from anything that even suggests empathy is heavy in this one. Good thing it’s still intended to be a “comedy” 😂😂
i don’t know if he intentionally sounded like kermit when he says “that’s why they build’em” but the delivery kills me EVERY time. he knocked it out of the park comedically in this episode
‘Sometimes it feels like theres not one real beggar in these lands’ is such a hilariously raw sentiment for this setting, knowing that while there is economic social difference, its as likely the person you offer charity to becomes a witch or djinn or beggar
To me, the fun thing about Lou’s Pinocchio voice is that it’s in the same pitch as his hysterical laugh. So when Lou actually laughs uncontrollably, it still feels in character! Also, I’m watching through Neverafter for the first time at the moment, and it occurs to me that the gingerbread man is from a nursery rhyme thing… so I’m kind of hoping swifty becomes the first character to appear in multiple D20 franchises
For me the funniest part was when Brennan spent a long time explaining in detail this extremely gross wet scary lump in the carriage w/ Siobhan. Then he turns to Murph and is like, "...so, do you wanna introduce your character?".
11:25 Zac's "hey-ee" once more proves he is the king of one word retorts - he knew the ramifications for Lou saying that immediately, and Pib being an experienced liar would know it was a problem. Gosh this gang is talented.
I didn't quite notice it on my first watch but there's a masterful bit of DM/player cooperation at around 3:30 when Murph rolls a Cha save vs. trying to catch the fly. Brennan doesn't actually say that Murph failed the save, he didn't directly compel any action from the character even with a failed save. He just mocked the result and then very strongly implied what the character wanted to do, then Murph picked right up on it and went for the fly.
i am always unsure when rosamund said "that's terrible. you're married?" the greenleigh whether she's commenting the fact that he's married or that his wife is missing
i thought it was something like, she's the polite princess so she takes a moment to dispense the courtly sympathy, but in reality she's far more interested in marriage, because her entire upbringing taught her that marriage is all that's important and vital, more important than literal life and death like gerard implies is possible
@@Teletheus YES that's the exact phrase I was thinking of. Can't wait for him to pull out a banjo and give a haunting rendition of It's Not Easy Being Green
I admire so much how completely dialed in they all are into their characters, but Murph especially plays Gerard in such a genius balance of hilarious, bearably intolerable, and genuinely compelling👏
I think my favorite part about 17:47 ish is how Ally immediately busts out laughing because of the face Brennan pulls. Like they know him so well and the characters he makes for one off jokes it's just funny before it happens, and then Brennan does not disappoint
There's an interview Lou and Brennan do together where Brennan starts to mime an awful cursed creature for half a second + Lou fully stops the conversation to make him complete the action- so I'm now convinced all of Brennan's friends are intuitively trained to recognize the look of Incoming Bit
@@marzipanmenthol thank you for reminding me of probably my favorite moment still in this whole season, please, what interview is this? Unfortunately I haven't kept as up to date since neverafter aired.
0:46 Again, Siobhan is too underrated. Her jokes are genuinely too smart and subtle. The way her very slight difference in intonation makes you understand she's thinking "oh that's terrible, you're married" instead of "oh that's terrible. You're married ?"
The fact that the "rrright?" at the end of Murph's flashback didn't make it devastates me. Like admittedly it's a sad moment so it's fair, but at the same time the little frog ribbit affectation he adds to it?? I love murph he's so excellent
yeah there are a couple moments I wish I had added but completely forgot about when I was making it 😭 it runs down my battery too so it was a race against time
There's something incredibly comforting about the return of short-haired Murph with glasses. I felt like I didn't even know or recognize long-haired Murph with shades. It was a novel shake-up for a season, but for me, Murphy Prime is and always will be the Murph that looks like Michael Douglas in a prequel set 30 years before the events of Falling Down...
Ally starting to laugh at whatever cursed animal was coming out of the woods before Brennan even described it was perfect. This crew knows each other so well. 😅
As tragic as it is, Gerard's scene in the banquet hall just had me thinking of Queen Caramelinda in Ep1 of ACOC. "IN THE BANQUET HALL? FOR REAL?" Just a very prim and proper lady getting not even four words into a sentence before shenanigans start happening.
@@edwardt.8704 like they said in the talkback episode this is kind of their first season going into it with the pc’s having their own secrets and mysterious backstories instead of everything just getting told to us or later plot twist reveals. for everyone we got just enough but it left us with so many questions and i’m excited. especially since they’ve apparently kept certain things from each other so they’ll be just as shocked as we are at some points

the stephan bit i think is made so much better by the fact that its one of the only times theyve played a nat 1 properly in my opinion. The players obviously know its a nat 1 but the characters dont so they should think the bad info they got is actually correct and should act on it. e.g. in acoc when they got nat 1s on the hay bale and thought it was full of enemies they kinda laughed and brushed it off. I understand why cos it would be annoying to deal with but its too funny when they do
Murph is REALLY dialed into this character. Like the conversation he has with his wife in the flashback was… sheesh
The discussion that he had with Gerard's wife and the fly bit had me sharp inhaling. Completely uninvested in anyone's plight but his own.

Brennan and Lou LOSING IT from 14:50 to "chaotic entitled" is just EVERYTHING
Honestly love a Lou character break moment
I think Lou USUALLY plays chaotic entitled. King Rocks, Fabian, he's just good at it. But can also play humble like Kingston.
