In FC5, you can damage yourself with the helicopter blades, if you land the heli beside a higher ground, or exit when the heli when it is slightly above ground. It's inconsistent but doable, and it does quite some damage

I think the reason why the main character's plot armor working when trying to be hit by the propellers is that the helicopter's harmful propellers script would be turned off as soon as the player leaves the helicopter. I think it should be enabled again when the helicopter is being controlled by NPC, so you could try doing that in some way.

if you look closely far cry games dont render the shadow of the blades so maybe tht's why there's no collision mechanism
