An Army officer has to clear promotion exams, clear mandatory courses to continue in service, pay insurance premium for his death while on National duty.The same currupt Bureaucracy decides pay promotion and perks for Defence forces.

I grew up in a very cosmopolitan area.. it had different communities and families from socio-economic strata studied in a convent in the 70s... in all those girls, we had a healthy number of Muslim girls... but no one, even their mothers were in black tents... a dupatta covered their heads, that's all... we went to mazzars and temples as well as langars and because of it being a convent, attended the mass of our school's patron saint on his feast day... and on the death of any of our teachers and nuns... i miss those days... there is so much mistrust nowadays... and looking at the way things are, i feel it can't be helped..
