- We all love our Sad Wizard Man, but sometimes he shows that he can be silly. he shows affection through his magical therapy cat or while he turns into an animal.
This would have been longer, but I'd have to change the title to Widojest moments. Caleb is very soft around Jester. :)

Frumpkin's name and appearance are based on his childhood cat. It's one more instance of him not letting go of his past.

A sword that was specifically used to execute Wizards during the Age of Arcanum, no less.
It's interesting that early on his lighter side could be pretty childlike, especially considering that we now know he basically didn't experience the last 11 years of his life.
I know, it seems like actually a really good point for Liam to use because of the 11 year thing.
Well, I mean, I can see that, but Liam also said something interesting on Talks. It was when Caleb began to joke around a bit more with the party and stuff, and he was asked about it, and he said "Well, you know, Caleb is just human. And I don't think it's a sign of anything, like, deeper, like that he's now forgiving himself or something, I just think that he's a human with many sides of his personality. And he forgot that he was human for a really long time, so being more comfortable with the M9 has made him feel more comfortable with joking around."
He's a late teens, early 20s mind in a 30 something body.

The Bread Mittens made me feel more sad for Caleb than anything, first time I saw it. Of course it was super cute and endearing, but it was still so obvious how hard his life has been, and how much he takes poverty for granted.
SwagPotato It reminded a lot of my mother and her struggle to find food to eat back in her home country. She had to get creative with her food and Caleb’s bread mittens are similar in a sense.

The thing about Caleb, he spent 11 years in that asylum not being himself. A vegetable. And when he was healed the false memories also went away, so basically he didnt have 11 years of processing of what he did, he had around 1 and a half since escaping, meeting nott and the rest of the mighty nein

@@samueltheblonde , after Caleb burned down his house b/c of the false memories placed there by Trent of his parents being traitors, he broke down at hearing their screams. When he broke down, he wasn't mentally with it enough to really take in or process anything (hence the allusion to him being a vegetable, he had as much thought process going on as a vegetable) till a woman came to the hospital as a fellow patient if I'm remembering right, met him, removed the false memories and kind of lifted the veil in a way and he was able to think for himself again. Was that helpful?
He actually had roughly 5 years in between escaping the asylum and meeting Nott. So, physically, he’s 33. Mentally, he’s 22.

Timeline is as follows: 17 when he killed his parents, 28 when he broke out of the sanatorium, 32/33 when he met Nott, 33 when he met the nein, 34 now because it's been almost a year since. He's had 6 years to process, but he spent most of it completely alone so the vast majority of his progress has been in the last year plus. So that trauma makes him jaded and pragmatic, but also socially and emotionally stunted. He's an unhealthy mix of young and old.

"I cast Seeming on Fjord" is easily one of my most favorite Caleb moments of Campaign 2. xD

@@justkiddingde6506 For context, the Mighty Nein had just transported into a public place from a day spa where they were all wearing bath robes. Fjord made it a point to change back into his clothes; no one else bothered. Caleb used Seeming to magically change Fjord's appearance to look like he was wearing a bath robe, and to make everyone else magically look like they had regular street clothes on.
I love the fact that almost every comment is about Caleb burning stuff. Brian Foster would be proud.

I don’t think there’s a DSM V test in DnD. Plus, it’s a spectrum, not hard science. That said... you can be sure that’s what Liam is trying to show.
