They had 2 in the beginning that were just as good. Watch the Reunion video because I forgot their names. Bobby and Roy is all I can come up with.
Agreed. Kirk and Ernie are both fantastic, but Danny's voice has a certain edge to it that is so distinct.
Danny is one of the sweetest, most anointed singers in southern gospel music... I am glad to call him my personal friend for over 30+ years! Still got the voice of an angel!

Two of the greats, Danny Funderburk singing and Roger Bennett on the piano. Just a little bit of Heaven.
I do not remember the year, but my family went to see the Cathedrals and Danny wasn't with them. He had to fly home for the birth of his child. The show started with just three singers and and Roger on the piano. A short time later in the show Kirk Talley arrived to fill in. They asked him what he wanted to sing and he chose this one. He did a very nice job, but this is still the best singer of this song.

I don't want to judge somebody singing talent but I luv listen to Danny sing then I would Mr. Haase. Mr. Haase thinks he's alot better tenor singer then anybody in Gospel Music. Danny is singing to help people toward Jesus. That is my opinion.
