FINALLY! Thankyou so much! This worked instantly! You are the only person who actually shows how to do it on Windows 11. It is such a shame they keep the menu hidden, but, thankyou for showing us the secret method on how to access this hidden menu!
Thanks! Always did this easily on Windows 10 - could not get to that traditional sound screen in Windows 11 - everything is just so simplified and all the normal features are buried behind command lines. Thanks Again!
Nice to know that it was still possible to listen to the microphone in Windows 11. When I sing along with RUclips videos, I also use a 'Transpose Key' extension with Microsoft Edge. That way, I can have a karaoke sing-along with every song in a key that I can handle.
You sir get 5***** today. After a few days of frustration I found while looking at you video that my mic was muted in a hidden setting that you helped me find !!!!!!
I just bought a new computer with the cluster F**k that is Windows 11 on it and I've been looking for this for like a month now. I've been using the monitor feature in OBS until I watched this video. Thank You.
Thnak you, its so stupid that Windows decides to hide useful control panel features behind hidden files, i dont understand why we couldnt just have an advanced system menu for those of us interested.
I absolutely don´t understand, why this function is not be included in the menu of settings. I have to make a list with commands like this to get normal functions. What a nonsense... Thx forhelping me out.
this is wrong! this method gives you delay with echo... to really listen to mic, you wanna go not to RECORDING but to PLAYBACK tab and then in SPEAKER>LEVELS options UNMUTE Microphone and also you can adjust the volume of mic playback
this doesnt seem to do any thing what so ever, SO doing more looking it only does it if its under my headset tab but under headset for playback I cant do any thing for the mic
there is. the settings menu in the video is buried under Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Change system sounds. you can also get there immediately by searching 'change system sounds'
There's a 'Levels' tab to the right of the 'Listen' tab. Click on that and set 'yer level to 10%. For quick access, I copied the location of 'mmsys.cpl' shown in the search box (C:\WINDOWS\system32) and made it a new shortcut on my desktop.
One question: When I was using w10 I could output the sound from pc to 2 headset by this stereo mix but I couldnt achieve in w11. Do you have any idea how can I connect 2 headset to my pc and listen music or watch movie with my wife?

Yes it feels much more dumbed down doesn't it, which in fact makes it more complicated wen you're trying to do specific things!
Exactly the menu I was looking for and couldn't find. THANK YOU!
I've watched a couple of videos on this topic, and yours was the only one that worked! Thank you!

this is wrong!
this method gives you delay with echo...
to really listen to mic, you wanna go not to RECORDING but to PLAYBACK tab and then in SPEAKER>LEVELS options UNMUTE Microphone and also you can adjust the volume of mic playback
I did this and unfortunately my mic was already unmuted and I still can't hear myself..grrrr to windows 11 lol
this doesnt seem to do any thing what so ever, SO doing more looking it only does it if its under my headset tab but under headset for playback I cant do any thing for the mic
This worked, thank you so much
thank you for the help
click the Playback and select the headset, and then choose Levels, there used to be a thing called "sidetone" but now it's gone!
when i listen to it and try to speak it then screams loudly and doesnt pick my voice and this happens with my both headphones both are fairly new
Ohh very thankful!
Much appreciated!
thank you, configured vb-audio output to hear what I am recording to!!!
Thank you!
Thank you.
Why is there not a native setting in Windows 11 to do this?
there is. the settings menu in the video is buried under Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Change system sounds. you can also get there immediately by searching 'change system sounds'
There's no "listen" tab on my windows 11 only: general, levels, enhancement, advanced, spatial
same bro wtf
Thanks so much!
why is my mic buzzing?
is it normal to have a delay?
yea sry for being late
Thanks! Not sure why they are hiding pretty much everything I used in windows 10 in windows 11
how to adjust the level so i always here myself in 10% volume?
There's a 'Levels' tab to the right of the 'Listen' tab. Click on that and set 'yer level to 10%. For quick access, I copied the location of 'mmsys.cpl' shown in the search box (C:\WINDOWS\system32) and made it a new shortcut on my desktop.
