One of my professors once said something along the lines of if someone says they understand qm they re likely gifted,or ignorant of their lack of own understanding, or lying So let me ask you: can you truly entirely wrap your head around Heisenberg uncertainty principle? Do you find it easy(as that is precisely what you seem to be taking qm for) to imagine waves associated with particles? Do you really understand quantum mechanics? Because I don't think mathematical equations or eigen states/variables by themselves are that hard to understand. @@akiracrimson8123 you are right, best users of quantum mechanics are people designing next EUV lithography machine for 1 or 2nm chips at ASML, TSMC, Intel etc not us, ask any research engineer from there, they have no idea what's going on, but unlike macro scale machines, imperfections in their design of even 1% will break everything, so they blindly rely on maths from quantum mechanics for simulating electrons to 10-20 digits of accuracy, so it works, but why? maybe there is no deeper law, we are just too dumb to understand QM, just discovered it on accident in experiments...

I intuitively understood harmonic motion. Ever since then, I've always asked myself... what if the axis itself was curved into a solenoid? How would the particle move?
