    I feel guilty when my little Pitbull girl gets bored at home or while I'm working. I KNOW it's due to lack of enrichment. I made the dishtowel roll filled with kibble and OMG she hasn't put it down . . . this was such a genius idea on the cheap!! Love your video! Will def try more of these!

      I have the same problem! Bored out of his mind and can't walk him except on the weekends due to the heat and an early work schedule for me. My Otto gets into the EMPTY garbage every day out of sheer boredom. I think the dishtowel will be his favorite too.

    Unexpectedly rescuing a three year old Yorkie (his owner died), and knowing he needs play, I came to RUclips to find answers.
    I have say these are some of the most creative ideas, original, not copied.
    I can’t wait to try all of them. When he came, he had a harness and a leash. As my budget is very tight (as all of ours are) I was hoping to to find exactly your video. As someone said watching how itʼs used is so helpful.
    What is great is as he uses one, he gets the next, and it will always be a different toy (and treat) in the queue.

    These are all very brilliant fun little games. Just make sure to supervise to garentee fabrics, and plastics dont get consumed. Fabric shreds and strings can not only wreak havoc on a dogs digestive tract but can cause serious blockages and obstructions.
    If you know your dog has a tendancy to eat bits of what he shreds as most dogs do, just make sure to keep an eye out.
    Otherwise these are awesome cheap entertaining ways to keep your dogs mind active!

    Love the more heavy duty hacks such as the plastic craft box or the ikea tower. Our dogs would make a giant mess from all the paper products but all n all...I’ve got some new ideas! Another tip with the cloth braided rope one: if you are an active family and stay outdoors or by a pool all summer-add peanut butter to a few sections of the towel and then freeze it. They stay busier and they won’t eat or unintentionally digest cloth like they might t.p rolls or gift bags! Then decide who’s the brave one and simply spray it all out and add treats back for multiple uses!
    Thanks for the imagination!

    • @WatsontheWarrior
      @WatsontheWarrior  4 года назад

      Great idea with freezing it! we tried it but Watson isn't bothered with it then lol. Yes the paper does make a mess, but no more than children hehe, and if you tidy up as they are playing its not too bad :0) xx

    The toilet paper tube one is great I did that all the time with my golden before I saw video with old t shirts that was trash and he loved tearing up the rolls and the old t shirt and he knew that if I give it to him he can tear it up anything else don't touch as a puppy he learned after I gave him the toilet paper roll and scarf game twice he never tore anything up again besides his toys. And the muffin pan one he loves and my frie D's find it abazing. And old t shirts card board box and treat hidden in shirts and boxed sealed with small piece of scotch present tape nothing big or hard to open tape wise keeps him busy for a hour. I'm doing fun tower today after this video. I leave about 10 homemade brain games different ones around house if I'm gone more then 3 hours. I have two dogs so he don't get lonely as well. He loves all these only thing I haven't done is the fun tower I came up with all these on my own before I saw video now I know I'm not crazzy for doing all this for a dog lol. Add rope to dish towel make it harder if he needs it harder to open. Just tie a pretty thick road that's like a half inch round around the dish towel and it's wrapped it in the rope that way the rope he has to get through some of the rope and I'll tie the rope before he gets to the dish towels. I usually put about good 5 to 10 wraps around the rope and don't cover the whole dish towel in the rope just a little bit and leave gaps between the rope as well about 2 to 3 in that way he can get between the rope and pull the rope off the dish towels before he gets the dish towels. And also if you want something really hard for them just braid three pieces of good size rope together and play small training treats in between the braids along the rope and it'll take him forever to open it but he loves it cuz you can tear up the rope. Instead of craft box I use 2 big muffin pans he can't break and swallow or get hurt on shards of plastic safer if he gets bored and wants to tear the box up alone plastic would be bad lol

    Fantastic video! Thanks a ton for sharing. I can tell my dog is bored and I’ve bought or borrowed a lot of enrichment toys, but he often chews through them or gives up. This is a great solution: I won’t be too disappointed if he problem solved by destroying or isn’t interested, and I can easily modify the toys so they’re easier or harder for him.

    literally just touches the dog to destroy things to get to the food i mean most of it looks like old food cartons and stuff what if he or she starts to rummag thru the garbage?

    • @vegan_guac
      @vegan_guac 3 года назад

      Dogs usually do that only when they are under-stimulated,so if you give them stuff to do like this, they won't feel the need to destroy anything.

    • @TheBeautyMaverick
      @TheBeautyMaverick 3 года назад

      There are a lot of things here that are choking hazards if dogs aren't supervised, the tiny little bands that tie the tea towel probably are the least worrisome - the pegs on the sock tree for example would be a risk. Know your dog and act accordingly. xx

      Tearing and chewing releases oxitocin in the brain (happiness hormone). The act helps to release energy and the hormone helps a dog to relax after the act of ripping something apart 😌
      Jack is a ratter and it’s natural for him to try to murder things. Not letting him do it is quite cruel in the sense.
      I love these games, will be copying in the near future - I’ve got loads of old t towels and fabric scraps 😊

    • @design_and_decor
      @design_and_decor 4 года назад

      I mean. Just because something is fun and a natural behavoir doesnt mean its safe. Fabric shreds and strings can wreak havoc on a dogs digestive tract and can cause serious blockages. Alot of dogs end up eating parts of what they shred up in the midst of fun. As great as all these are, most need to be supervised to make sure nothing is consumed.
