Hmmmm I have had my Dolphin Premier for a year and a half and I have not had to touch my pool. It is always spotless!! I had a problem and contacted them. They responded immediately, no long phone waits, they talked me through and sent me tech data to run diagnostics. Unfortunately, it just wasn't going to work right. I live a a very difficult place for service and all I can say is they made every effort to make resolution quick and easy. They are now sending me a replacement. Their customer service is second to none that I have ever deal with. All their people are friendly, kind, care about your problems and very quick to get a solution regardless of the problem!!! I did lots of research and finally settled on a Dolphin Triton. I received it last Friday and got it right in the pool. This thing was amazing from the power to the fine dirt it picked up and the ease of removing the filter basket. Unfortunately it was short lived as the robot would only run ab 10-15 min and then shit down. I had to call the manufacturer and they were great. They immediately sent me a shipping label to mail the triton back and they will be sending me a Premier in place of it. I have yet to ship the Triton back but plan on doing so tomorrow.
You cannot go wrong with the Dolphin Premier! It definitely blows the Triton out of the water!
Which one did you end up with? I am shopping for a new dolphin now

I have a dolphin premiere that I’ve had in the pool for three years. I just want to tell everybody that you got to replace the foam pads on the unit often these makes it climb the walls.

Hi Sheldon, There are no units with the anti-swivel or with waterline cleaning at that price range. The next closest option with the both of these features would the Dolphin Quantum!
Will this do the sides on a above ground pool ?
Yes! It will do the waterline and sides of any pool, including an above ground pool!
Can you tell me why you tested the premier on a concrete walled pool opposed to testing the CC Nautilus in a vinyl walled pool?
Will this vac go back 'home' to specific spot in the pool? I'm building my pool now and wondering if I should have a small space dedicated for this to 'hang out' between cleanings. Also, how long can I just leave it in the water? Days? Weeks? Months? Obviously I need to clean out the filter. But, 'set it and forget it' would be awesome.

The Dolphin Premier can be left in the water as it is completely waterproof! The Programmable Timer will allow it to run 1 week on automated cleanings! We recommend cleaning it out every week or sooner if your pool is dirty! The full bag indicator will blink when it is time to clean!
You won't need a special spot for it either in your pool! It will just stop and start after every cleaning!

How does it work with stairs?

No it will not! It’s perfect for liner pools!
So far I am not impressed with my Premier. So far after 8 cycles it has failed to clean the entire pool. It has not even managed to climb up and do the water line. It fails to go up and clean the shallow end of my in ground pool. My pool is nothing special either. A simple rectangular design, 8ft in deep end up to 3 ft in shallow end. It is a vinyl lined pool. So far a waste of a lot of money. It walked the walls one time and that was its first use. After that it just makes a try and only first brush goes up and then it just goes back down. Before I return it does anyone have any suggestions? Is there any type of adjustment at all on this thing to try?
Hi Todd,
If your unit hasn’t been to the waterline, it is likely that something is throttling the motor. We recommend making sure nothing is stuck to the intakes and to see if the Premier is pushing out enough water on the top of the unit. Is it still picking up some debris in the pool?

Does the premire and the quantum do well cleaning the walls and waterline for pools that are completely tiled with small mosaic? The finish is smooth and a little slippery. Thanks.
