My Dad was from Eastern Tennessee, and when he was a teen he ran moonshine for the mooshiners, this was back in the early 30's, he seen many strange things, he wouldn't talk about. I am now 71 yo. When we were children, our parents told us not to be far from our cabin after dark, the "boogers" would get you. My Dad was a coon hunter, and one night when he was hunting on our 275 acres, my 2 brothers [12 and 14] and a cousin [13], was running thru the garden chasing each other. They ran into the house screaming there was a 11-12 foot giant chasing them. Mom made them stay in, closed the shades, and locked the doors. I remember how scared they were, it scared me, to see them so scared. Love your channel, I just found you today, and have subscribed. Looking forward to more of your excursion videos. Thank you. Granny Jan

December 10th 2007. I was hiking alone and when I reached Preacher’s rock trailhead I stoped at the parking spot for a break and there was an old grandpa wearing a bright and old green sweater that stinked kinda bad. He was sitting on the back of his van with a golden retriever so I asked him if I could pet his dog ( as I have 2 golden retrievers and they’re the best dogs) he said yes and he started asking me where I was from and what do I do for a living? And if I was hiking alone or in a group? He also asked me if a have any guns or knifes because last week there was a mountain lion attack that almost killed a hiker. I told him not I don’t have a gun but I have a small pocket knife that I showed him. He said that’s not enough to kill a mountain lion. I was like well I hope I don’t encounter one. Then we chatted for a little bit and he started ranting about the federal government. And before I was leaving he told me If he could join me on the trail because he really wanted to hike up but he being an old man and suffering from heart conditions so if something happens to him at least I could tell police where he was. I felt something, a strange sensation in my gut by the way his eyes looked. He had some really penetrating gaze and he would always make direct eye contact that I couldn’t hold so I would look away for some seconds. After thinking what should I say this old grandpa I told him “I’m sorry but I’m in a hurry and I really want to walk fast to get to the top before sunset” he kinda looked mad and said aight I’ll just wait for someone else. I proceeded to hit the trail but I could never forget his gaze. Even tho he was an old man his gaze gave me a bad vibe and I was thinking about it the whole trail. 25 days later when I was at home I watched this same guy in a mugshot on the news channel so I turned the volume up because I was intrigued I thought he died on the trial (because he told me he had heart problems) to find out he kidnapped and killed a girl about 15 miles on another parking lot. The guy I interacted with was fcking serial killer Gary Michael Hilton. I think he asked the same questions and told the same story to Meredith Emerson and she was kind and good hearted so she agreed to hike with the “old grandpa with heart problems”. So now I don’t trust anyone even if they have good intentions and they greet me I just say hi and continue my hike without stopping and if they ask me to stop to ask me a questions I just say sorry I’m in a hurry and keep going. I also carry a 9mm Glock 43x. It’s small and concealable. Another crazy experience happend another year before when I was hiking and at the distance I saw a naked old guy just walking around. So I freaked out and stopped before he was gone. Stay safe guys. Never trust anyone.
Edit2023; for those saying it’s a fake story because you’ve seen this same post on other videos. Well maybe read the username before making claims. It’s me sharing my story, I also shared it on Reddit with the same username. Why would I lie? Also thanks to everyone who shared their stories as well. I’m glad we made it but it’s kinda sad to think about how many people are gone that maybe had problems with their family members and stoped communication with them and they’re forever gone without anyone asking about them.

Hey Safemoon Prince! What a crazy story! that is freaking wild, I had a run in with a local killer and his girlfriend when I was young and I still remember it to this day! I carry as well, I just dont usually show my weapon in my videos because I am a big 2nd amendment advocate and I want to inspire people to go out and explore. I don't want people to feel like they have to always have some weapon with them if they are not properly trained. So I don't use mine as a prop to make my video "look cooler." I know it proberly would help with views, but thats not the message I am looking to send. Anyway, thanks for the story and the support! hope all is well!

My family has always whispered about some of our relatives going back to the forests. It sounds too wild to be true until you realize that there is a known Native American family to the northeast who has strategically inbred innocent relatives, unaware of relation to each other... Anyway, back in the 60's there would have been probably a few hundred members at best but today the numbers are in the thousands. Spread across many states, attached to many surnames at this point and the inbreeding is so strategic that there are no deformities outside of the level of violence which is also documented. But, Pennsylvania Native Americans are EXTINCT. So you have nothing to worry about. They're not hillbillies, they are the wild ones. The hillbillies are sitting around bonfires drinking beer. You're grandparents were having a completely different conversation with you. You won't find the truth in the history books, they wrote it wrong.

In a country of 320 million people.. it would be statistically a miracle that every single person can be accounted for, living somewhere in civilized society. There must be at least 100s if not 1000s of wild people spread across the land.

    • @blackmassparanormal
      @blackmassparanormal  2 года назад +93

The stories have been in our country for centuries, maybe under "wildman" or even "bigfoot." We have hundreds of millions of people in this country. I feel like it would be kind of arrogant to believe we have a complete understanding of the human condition. I think that inbreeding could play a big role in this, as well as people fleeing the law. I think people could revert to their animalistic tendencies just to survive. The Appalachian Mountains are massive, I mean they go from GA to Maine after all. We are constantly pushing animals out of their homes as a result of gentrification. Who's to say humans aren't there as well. Thanks for having an open mind! Hope all is well!

After coming home, my fishing holes were Targets and there are coffee shops on every F**kin corner! Not to mention the dang trash, corn and glass in our mountain streams. It's like when you go into a store and go checkout, they try to cut infront of you like they are ordering drinks in a bar. I think if they hear our legends, they might be a little more hesitant to go in our mountains. My brother is a fishing guide, they literally felt like they could block off the boat ramp because they thought they "owned" the river. We,ve been fishing that river since the freaking 80s.....it's frustrating. Things are supposed to move slower, we help each other here and things are just getting ridiculous. Thanks for watching!

I was hiking in west Virginia back in 2002 and came across a family living in a shack in the middle of the woods about 10-15 miles south of Webster springs, WV. I didn't expect to see anyone but they kind of crept me out so i said, "hey, how yall doin?" They stared at me for about 15 seconds before they started hooting at me and ran towards me. I turned and ran, they quit following me and i kept on going all the way back to my truck about 3 or 4 miles from where i parked it on a back road. I drove back to Webster springs and reported what i saw to the police but they said they never found anyone. It was the last time i went that deep in the woods alone since.

We call them ''The Forest People'' around here. Pastor went up to find them and offer them the stuff. He found them. They did not want anything that Pastor offered him. I have respect for people's desire to make RUclips videos, but I question the sincerity of the mission to find "feral" people in East Tennessee. I am from East Tennessee for over 50 years and I have yet to see any feral people in the mountains. Let's make the distinction between feral and what could be Bigfoot. In the distant past, yes, there were groups of mountain people who would be considered feral, but today there are very few if any. This video doesn't do justice for the people and area of East Tennessee to escape the long-held belief of being backwards, toothless, barefoot and wild. For someone who is a former park ranger, he seemed out of his element. Just an observation and my opinion. Otherwise, it's an interesting topic and video.

It's like they were wild. The two sons ,I'm sure there still alive ,living by stealing . I walked by the delapitated shack to go up the hill and they watched their dog try to rip my baby from my arms, when the health department was called on the dog ,they took a gun and put about 40 shots into my dad's tiny shack , trying to kill my brother a high schooler at the time. Trying to get inside from the yard he sliced his foot open and heard all the bullets zoom past him. This is a true story. It's a small area in the Awanita Valley in S.C.

I'm from Maryland and have enjoyed exploring Maryland, Virginia , West Virginia and Pennsylvania all my life. I have friends from West Virginia and Tennessee. I've been working construction for 30 years and have done a bit of work in West Virginia, mostly around Harper's Ferry. A friend from WV told me about a town called Millville where he claimed the people were inbred. Driving through this town eventually seen them walking next to a corn field exactly as he described them. Very strange. During a visit with my friends in Tennessee, they took me to a very disturbing dirt mound of a mountain where there were random trailers going up the mount of dirt where the hillbillies sat on their front porches holding rifles and looking about as backwoods as you could imagine. I'm from Baltimore Maryland but even in the western part of MD I discovered a little town called Flintstone where I stopped to get gas and ran into two guys dressed like Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. I thought for sure it must have been for a reenactment of some kind but I was wrong. These kind of people definitely exist. Although I never really felt threatened or in danger of any kind it was still a surreal experience to see people that seem like they belong in 1865.

Animals I have encountered are bear, deer, bobcat and other similar. The large foot prints I have seen are much bigger than a man’s and I wear a size 12 1/2 boot. The prints were of a barefoot which were bigger than my boot. Some of the places I hiked were remote one being 6500 acres of wilderness area. Walking on the trail we came to a small clearing that had a small hut on it with a family living in it. There was a man and woman about 30 years old and 4 children. They were dressed in rags and filthy dirty unwashed and they smelled terrible , but were very friendly and spoke with us for a short time. One strange thing was the woman was sweeping the dirt ground in front of the shack as if it was a porch . Over the years I often wonder what the hell was going on there ?

Just because some people are poor and live differently than modern society does not make them bad people or evil.
There are some evil people in this world and some may live in the back woods, but there are plenty of evil people living on main street and suburbs as well.
I have know some good ole poor country folks that lived in shacks that would give you their last bite of food or help others any way they could.
Although I am cautious of anyone til I get to know them well, I tend to be more comfortable around those that live off the beaten path than I am around folks on city streets. In fact, I stay out of cities and off of city streets as much as is possible. Personally, I much prefer the country and the backwoods.
I’m cautious everywhere, because I never know who or what I will run into.
But, I judge each individual by their own actions, not how they live, where they live, how they dress or how poor or rich they appear.
Good and bad folks exist in all walks of life.

There could be some truthfulness to these types of stories. I remember hearing a true story of 2 guys that were chaised off the road they were on into the woods. They abandoned their vehicle and separated from confusion, panic, terror. One jumped in the river and the other went running deeper into the woods. According to these 2 men they were being tormented by these people. Playing cat and mouse with them. They said it was a big group of people woman, men , and even children! The man who went floating down the river terrified to get out because these people were following him on land on the edge by the river. Even on trees hanging backwards trying to grab him. All while making weird bird sounds. Yall gotta look up this real story. And b4 u say they were crazy or on drugs nope. When they were found they tested them and ran all kinds of test but everything came back normal. They didn't have a criminal background either. They were traumatized and apparently one of them had a real hard time afterwards. But they both stuck to their original stories and never changed anything..

That is your stated purpose. Just based on this there is no way you are not packing AT LEAST a 9mm pistol. So, WHY did you run when you thought you heard sounds that could be coming from the feral people you were searching for??!!

Hey Dan! As I stated in the video I didn't think that I was being chased by feral people, however I did have a run in earlier in the day with a large group of boar, which was most likely what I was hearing again, thats why I got to higher ground. I did not want to get stuck in the middle of that group (they would have killed me). I do carry. I am a big 2nd amendment advocate, so I do not use my weapon as a prop in my videos. I believe it is irresponsible to use firearms on RUclips to make your video "look cooler." I also want to inspire people to go out and explore, not shoot me out in the woods. Anyway hope that answers your question. Hope all is well!

I have very closely related ancestors who came from The Holler, throw in a good amount of Cherokee also. I've never felt so immediately 'at home' as when I first went to Kentucky and Tennessee and the Carolinas. So interested in your stories, as I grew up hearing about the 'Booger Man' (which is a Cherokee spirit, and depicted in the Booger Dance. Honestly IS different than 'the Boogey Man' stories told to children.) You are dead on about 'Shiners. I like to tell people my family worked on the "product" line of NASCAR. Very proud to say I come from The Holler, The Seam, The Cherokee and the 'Shiners. I speak "Hill Folk" very well, despite being a West Coast Native. (Keep out an eye for 'The Haints', and leave some offerings to the Spirit Folk. Appalachia is very 'alive', you can sense it all around you.)

Now it’s people from far away and even from other countries. The only thing I’ve seen that is bad is how they’ve commercialized everything and allowed all the cabins to be built and destroy the once beautiful Mts. of Gatlinburg. In Nov. of 1999 while my wife and I was on our honeymoon I told her when coming home and going through Wears Valley that they’d eventually commercialize that too. Im from North appalachia in PA and it seems that the deeper south in the mountains you go, the more "appalachian" it becomes. Our little town sat in a little valley in the Appalachian mountains. My father told me a story of someone up in the mountains where his family lived. This someone was known as "The Stalker", and was well known by some of the neighbors who lived on the slope of the mountain. He would make his way to their second story and sit at the window at the top of the stairwell. They tried to catch him. But when they went to grab him, he jumped off the roof and didnt even stop when he hit the ground. he never lost momentum, and kept running. This person looked unnatural. So yeah Appalachia is fucking wild man theres some insane stories I've heard from there. I live in SW Colorado now and most of the wild stories are told by the Native American tribes in the area. Thats where most of the old history is from.

I lived in TN and I never heard of this, but if this is what's going on, it explains a lot. I've lived in WV for 46 years grew up playing in the woods, been in some pretty remote places and have never seen anything like that. We do have people that live off the grid mountain men. A lot live in what looks like a shack and they are usually rough/dirty looking. They are very protective of their property and depending on what all they are doing on that property depends on how you are getting welcomed if ya know what I mean. As far as inbreeding there is no more inbreeding in the Appalachian mountains than any other part of the United States. I think a lot of these stories are from times long ago where they told tales of crazy things for entertainment and it just keeps getting passed down.

Most folks in the hollers don't live up to those stereotypes, now a days, and treated patients suffering from incest from all over the country, so it is everywhere. It just seems in some of those hollers they did not know it was wrong. In my own family tree there are some sparse branches. Often cousin marrying cousins to keep land in the family. in some cases not even having to change last names. Cousin marriages were not uncommon all over the US in past times, and still common in some countries like Pakistan.

It's not false....the inbreeding is quite literally documented in northeast Pennsylvania. I know, I'm a distant relative. Estranged from the family but it's been several generations since the most violent ones took back to the forests. It's not the type of inbreeding you envision, it's done so meticulously there are no birth defects outside of extreme violence capabilities and that is NOT taught to be prevented but instead, it's fine tuned.. even the members living as civilians today are fuckin ruthless. You call us hillbillies. The hillbillies call us something different... I say us, because I grew up thinking this was typical family dynamics. Everyone had truly wild uncle's and cousins who retreated back to the same forests they stole. But, those natives are EXTINCT, so the government doesn't have to admit they trained an out of state relative to become a green beret. You think they're going to tell you the truth??

If these feral humans are out there, It sounds like a lot of inbreeding would be taking place, which would account for the physical and genetic deformities. Cannibalism kills those who engage in it pretty quickly, so I’m guessing they limit that behavior. Maybe that’s their idea of a “delicacy”, or in cases of desperation when other food is scarce and the opportunity presents itself. And I could see them taking up residence in abandoned mines and caves. I don’t know if there are any old mines in the area but that would be something to check out, maybe set up some cameras at any entrance points you could find.
About the franchise coffee shops and horrific stores (those are more scary to me than the mountain people!) we need to break up the monopolies, pure and simple. They’re responsible for a huge percentage of our problems. Monopolies and oligopolies in all industries (food and beverage, retail, finance and the worst - media) are destroying everything. Fortunately there is a movement on the way to change this.

I hope the narrator carries a serious BLASTER! My boy and his wife just moved into the Johnson City area from Wisconsin. They love hiking. From my own experience in Appalachia, I told my boy he'd best carry a large handgun for four and two-legged game.

Great video, thanks. Some of the feral people may have originated from the terror of the Civil War. In recent years a man and his son emerged from the jungles of Vietnam after hiding for 50 years following a raid.

Anyone notice the "stacked-rocks" at 9:53,.... or the logs which "happened" to fall across the creek? Seems a little creepy to me,...... could be markers for some reason,... but definitely indicators of PEOPLE being back here at least to this point on the map!

Mostly rocks are from folks hiking and marking there trales nothing to worry about

This was a very interesting video. I don't know very much about these people, and although scary, I'd be interested in learning more. So if you do this series I'd for sure watch! Just be careful 😱 cuz it seems dangerous.

I'm in VA... always been in VA.. I am so intrigued by the Whitakers from West Virginia...if you are interested in things like this please look them up.. They are named as a family of inbreds... it's wild..

Hey Brenda! The Whittakers are super interesting and served as a partial inspiration for this video. I mean if Ray had lost his immediate family, there is a good possibility he would fit the exact descriptions given by the witnesses. So if we know we still have these small groups, who is to say that they even slightly more extreme cases don't exist somewhere else? To me, it doesn't sound too far out of reason. Hope all is well! thank you for the support!

A fat dude in the woods, where the trees all look less than 20-25 years old, looking for feral cannibals. I don’t see how that could possibly go awry…

I live in Chicago, total city girl. I am terrified of the mountains. I refuse to go camping. I have been to the mountains, Pike's Peak, Sandia Mountains, Lemon Mountains & Mount Tom. I do enjoy the beauty, the peace & fresh air. However, a little visit is all I can take & I do not want to hang around or stay long. There are people in the mountains that kidnap people like me & are forced to cook squirrel meat for them. No fucking way. Everyone laughs at me when I say this, but I am dead serious. I don't even like to go to the forest preserves in Chicago. I am telling you, people live in the woods. I am very happy in the city. I know who's who, how to walk down a street, like I own the street & I know where I am going, thugs are easy to identify & I am armed. I would rather take a long walk on a city street at midnight than sleep in the fricking wild. Nope. No way.

iv sometimes felt like spirits in the cherokee national forest. kinda like a feeling of someone running by you and the gush of wind catches you. as an indigenous person from Kenya i always felt welcomed as if being allowed to be there

Those creaking sounds are the trees moving in the ground from the wind. I don’t believe in “feral people”, but there are still dangerous animals in those woods.

Living in a more rural part of Tennessee I call BS. We are constantly out riding the TWRA trails, some we have to chain saw or way through (not against the law to clear a TWRA trail). Anyone living out in the Appalachian mountains would have to use fire for warmth and shelter. NO ONE lives and sleeps on open ground in the mountains. Also no one would use clicks to communicate unless they want you to know they are there. Also too many possible food sources for them to become cannibals. It would be an unlikely, dangerous and rare food source.
