This short clip is SO evocative of the times. Also a time for minidresses and skirts like the one shown here...if a woman had the figure! This woman certainly did. I also travelled internationally via airports like this with the RAF at this time, so brought back such exciting times I wish we still had. Without the pressure and worries of today. Thank you for sharing this magic look back in time.
This reminds me of when we used to holiday in the west country and Channel Islands back in the late sixties to mid seventies and my Dad's first thing on the list to do was to go and collect our hire car. On being shown the vehicle, my Mum would say "you do this every year and hire a car that's not big enough for all of us. I remember we got a Vauxhall Viva for six of us😅 Five was a squeeze, but in them days you were probably allowed to shove one of the kids in the boot! Miss those times.
I was thinking the same thing, in one scene she seems to be driving the 1960 ish morris traveller so over 17 , I'd guess 21 years old, so about 75 / 76 years old now if all went well, just shows how short life is .
@@peterstudley1804 I do hope she is still alive. It's a lovely find, but also sad to know this film was recovered from a charity shop. Nb. I had a Morris Traveller like this one!
@maxwellfan55 Yes, I realise these are charity shop finds I've watched all of them up to now , and seeing the people and cars and places in that time frame reminded me of days out in my childhood in my aunt and uncles 1963 Austin Cambridge , I also hope she's still with us and ok .
Air travel, especially from airports like Lulsgate, was actually enjoyable once - outrageous!

This is how I remember Bristol airport! My first holiday from here was to Majorca and Syd Little was on our flight
Wow. Mini skirts. Do we remember them. Super
The saddest part is that practically everything we can see was made in Britain; cars, clothes, shoes and even the planes.

What a great clip of Bristol and how things have changed. Where is the girl in the miniskirt now I wonder?

They are able to park right in front of the terminal building, and the place is deserted.
Why not send them to Talking Pictures TV and let the public identify all of them?
