"Some filmmakers achieve the same effect by writing shorter scenes." That was savage.
Might also explain why The Empiricist was over two hours long.
All films should introduce their actors everytime they enter a new scene. I like knowing who's playing who and it's not distracting in the least.
Same. I never thought I needed it but now I do.
And whenever an important character is not on screen, all the other characters should be asking "Where is X (played by Y)?"
@@luobomu9747 He also needs sunglasses
i thought he was going to say that the lead actor died due to some kind of unexplainable medical issue
He's a therapist.
I cannot. Stop. Thinking. About. This. Movie.
It's so hard to explain, but there is something so confounding, surreal, charming and incredibly ballsy about introducing a movie where you have to explain how the movie works. Usually this would be played as a joke in any other piece of media (Lars Von Trier appears at the end of his show The Kingdom) but the fact that this isn't a joke, that a human being felt no shame or embarrassment introducing his movie in such a way... It really lives in my head rent free.
People laugh at Tommy W. And Ed Wood, but even they wouldn't feel the need to apologise for technical errors before the movie even starts.
Especially when those errors shouldn't have even there in the first place
the explanation about recasting the lead is like something right out of Garth Marenghi's darkplace.
I salute you.
I like how you've taken a deeper, always humane analysis of these bad movies. Its great stuff
With such a velvet smooth voice I could have listened for longer. You're like a British James Earl Jones. The Attenborough of bad films.
More narration please.
"The Attenborough of bad films" - YES! Perfect.
This reminds me of "That Mitchell and Webb Look" sketch where two actors trade playing Holmes and Watson
Dude, this is great stuff. Surprised you don't have tons more views and subs. Need to get noticed by the RedLetterMedia and MST3K fans. As for the movie - this is truly an amazing piece of "work."
Thanks very much. I've only just started doing this kind of video but want to build it up.
The algorithm brought me to this channel from a Best of the Worst marathon, so the crossover potential is there for sure.
So this guy is essentially Neil Breen if he were an anti-vaxxer.
It's nearly unbelievable that some of these vanity projects get released by their creators, given their usual goal of aggrandizing themselves.
How could it go wrong when you can do no wrong lol
I don't think he actually thought that (based on the apology/explanation about the revolving doctors) but still
well they see it though the prism of lack of self awareness
5:25 - I like how he keeps saying "we" ("we made the decision", "we thought it could work") insinuating there's an actual crew behind the movie, when we all know it's a one-man show.
"But if that character looks like they want to protest a gay marriage one moment and then enter one the next"
How is your channel so underrated.
I am so glad you used clips from Mitchell and Webb in here...
This looks like an influence on Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.
Im just imagining a teamup between breen and metzler, it would be like an ego supernova!
It would probably create a singularity, tearing a hole in the space time continuum that would destroy the universe….
No physical room would be large enough to accommodate their two egos simultaneously. They would have to work remotely
They would destroy each other. Which I am open too.
"A unique landmine in the battlefield of bad movie what the f**kery." Almost brought a tear to my eye it's so great. Just one of many savages and I thank you.
"Assigned" usually words like "cast" or "chosen" are used.
This is like the Homeopathy version of Ben and Arthur.
You're exactly right.
Brilliant, thanks for sharing, and like your editing :)
"it was cancer and to top if off a rare kind"
Holy moley, that looks astonishing!
I'm guessing Metzler wasn't first in his med school class.
You know what you call the lowest rated graduate of the lowest rated medical school?
"Doctor."
Absolutely love these videos!
What kind of cocaine fever dream is this.
"A unique land mine in the battlefield of cinematic what-the-fuckery." OMG I'm dying. 😂😂😂
A movie that is bad for your health, by a person bad for everybody’s health.
Great stuff! Also - how would one actually watch the film?
And that's the problem I realised only AFTER making the video! It used to be available through Warren's website (phosphorusalights.com), not sure if it still is. A friend of mine bought it that way and that's how I found it.
Come from the Bristol Bad Movie Quiz Rob. We do give a shit and are here to support
a funny and excellent presentation
the two actor approach is common in US soap operas!
Over different seasons usually
or when one takes ill@@rubberneckinc.8937
Joke shop beard..But there is no answer for the Romeo Gerolaga .That face is a dream state..
"Noo-ohoo. You di'nt!"
Just try not to think about the fact that this guy killed people and is encouraging deadly behaviour, and he's hilarious.
Never go full Breen.
Have you covered After Last Season? It kinda reminds me of this.
Thank you so much! 😂😂
Warren was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He was adopted. As he states he grew up on a Caribbean Island. I called to find out was he offering consultations, he passed away I'm told prior 2021? Not sure exactly. Warren showed a great deal of compassion toward me. I had no idea of homeopathy. He was not a cold empty soul. He told me he was divorced and had a son. Close friends of his guard much of his work. Certainly a pioneer in every sense. He said he had seen the enemy and it is us. I can't understand why he died maybe 75? Warren was stout and healthy, swimming laps in his forties. He was an awesome cranial osteopath also. He had a baby grand piano in his center hall colonial in Hackensack and so many books. He made me a proponent of Homeopathy, but not so much empiricism. He died a Christian and is now in heaven with Jesus. Funny how we mourn comparatively little for the truly successful. I valued the few moments with him never knowing he would no longer grace this earth. California why so far? Lose of his license was best for him. In days to come that would prove best for his life. The willingness was there, he was a first responder, dignified and manly. Thanks for your help Warren.
He killed an AIDS patient. I am fairly certain he is not with Jesus.
I wonder what this guy thinks about Covid....
Wow. Just…….wow.
holistic film making
Lovely!
Most times you say things I find delightfully funny about a film. This one I just feel sad.
This is hilarious
Rob this is Gold! Have you considered turning your considerable skills to modern political narrative? But seriously, would love to see more!😊
...embarrassing at best.
Where the heck did you get a copy of this film? It seems to be completely out of print.
there are sites and there are ways...may not be legal...but it's out there.
@@ToxicToastRecords couldnt find a torrent anywhere for it
I have an VHS copy. CD baby had them.
@@sylviasanchez3901 thanks
This pile of dreck may have to make the watch list for 'good, bad movie night' it's so awful I'm sure we'll all have a great laugh! 😂🤣😝
