  • The efficiency of my bundle production has been getting worse as my pile of wood receded back under the low roof. Now my pile stacked by the road has cured and I can start selling it. The beauty of this is I can drive right up to the pile and build without moving. Also all pieces of wood have been split to bundle size. I don't have to split any more. Just put it in the jig and make a bundle. #firewood ‪@FlanaganHomestead‬

hi , Rob. I have a question regarding conifers i know its not the topic of this video but.. so i have planted some abies koreana into the field and into the pots this spring, they were growing nice and buds were getting ready and now after the buds broke out about 70percent new shoots just dried out like in a week or so. We had unexpected snow and close to freezing temps after nice couple of weeks of 20c + could that damaged the newly planted ones or is it something else? AND the question number 2 is: have you used or heard anything about bordeaux mixture as preventing spray method against diseases. i dont really want to use heavy duty fungicides and pesticides yet.

Sorry to hear about your fir. Fresh buds can be damaged by many things. A sudden drop to below freeing temps could slow water supply to ne growth. I don't expect to see this but it can happen. If the rest of the tree stays healthy they will set new buds and start growing out again next year. If you have the ability to keep water on them during them summer it could happen later this year. In good water years my fir will set buds getting ready to go dormant. If we get a lot of water late these new buds will open ahead of schedule and give us a late season growth.
I have not heard of the bordeaux mix so I cannot give an educated opinion on that.
