levi has lost so much and it makes me sob. he lost all his friends, but hanji's death was the one that made me realize it. and the scene when she saw everyone around her was heartbreaking.
but at the same time, something in me feels for eren. he's lost about as much as levi, and was pushed to be humanity's hope from such a young age. i'm excited for the next chapter because (leak spoiler alert) jean and conny will be turned. i just want to see if eren has any reaction, or if we've lost him entirely.

Today I was hanging out with my good friend, Gen. we have been extremely close for a year now. The two of us have been through a lot of family trauma and thats been extremely hard on us and our siblings. We were at my dads house and my 8 year old sister hates it at my dads house. To bribe her to come and stay at my dads without too much of a fight back and forth, we told her that she could come with us to a shopping mall near us. We got drinks and I got her some candy and things she wanted. It’s a hot summer afternoon and I played this in the car before we headed home. Me and gen both started tearing up and crying because we are “old enough to understand”. My little sister said “I don’t get it” and laughed. Gen looked at her and said, “one day you will understand.”
Old enough to understand. Such true words. They tear me up inside because I’ve dealt with so much pain. And I was so oblivious before it all happened. I am now.. old enough to understand. That, is what I see behind me.
And what Gen said to my sister- That killed me because my sweet little sister will be old enough to understand one day..
For context, this is Gen. I heard her sister say “I don’t understand” and I burst into tears as I replied, “You will one day and I wish you didn’t have to.”
But I want to add.. she won’t have to be alone. No one has to be alone in situations like this. I will, in heartbeats, come and pick both of these girls up and take them to the mall again. Take them to get boba again. Prove to them, they can cry with me.
