As an artist who refuses most commission requests because they're for things I can't/don't draw, why are these bakers/companies accepting orders they can't fulfill? 😂But I also have a lot of sympathy for the bakers, because ordering a 3D Toy Story cake from a novice cake decorator, that's a bold choice. Some people order/commission the wildest stuff, not knowing how bad their idea is, or at least how difficult it would be to construct it within the given deadline
That's why you go to customize cake places who specialize in doing such things. They will probably say impossible or quote a increase in price because they have to have overtime and may even get people who have skills in that area as temporary workers.
If they can’t fulfill the order these places should tell them instead of giving the customers an ugly mess 😭 on the other hand the customer should find someone who’s able to make it. You get what you pay for, so if you ask a less expensive cake maker to do something elaborate it’s not going to look like the fancy photos online..
As a cake decorator who is good at wedding cakes but kinda struggles with the ultra 3d cake, lean to your strengths. I would never take on a cake that I wasn’t 100% confident I could make look amazing.
Seriously, there's a difference between taking a job a little out of your comfort zone to improve your skills and overpromising well beyond your capabilities
It's dehumanising. People want to just download a cake exactly like the photo, but human cake decorators are different people who have different skills, and they could probably make you a really good cake that you would be happy with if you take the time to see the human in the worker and ask about what they can do. There's probably very few cake artists who could perfectly replicate a cake from a photo, they probably have different tools, less time, and different experience, and if they can do that you're probably not going to find them when you're shopping around your town. Like don't go to the person who specialises in beautiful frosting flowers and has 50 different piping nozzles when you want a cake that would take years of experience in realistic human portraits and 50 different paint brushes. And be grateful that they're spending so much of their time making a cake for your special occasion so you don't have to worry about it.
These groups take their rules VERY seriously. I’m in one where you’re not allowed to say anything other than “yikes” and if you do, people will get mad and tag mods until you either fix it or are muted/banned.
For my SIL's baby shower, we had a cake made with a little newborn on a sunflower and it was so cute! But I was like "pls take the baby off the cake I don't need that trauma today" 😭 I also just,, don't see the point in slicing into something that is 100% fondant/modeling chocolate/decor because you're not gonna eat it so.. just take the baby off we don't need to ritually sacrifice the fondant baby in front of the pregnant woman tbh
yeah that had me cracking up. Reminds me of a game me and my loser friends had at the end of every school year we’d go through the yearbook to make fun of people we didn’t like and if someone bitched about someone you weren’t allowed to disagree or express anything positive about that person while we did it. Only negativity. I was such a bad person lmao
I was a part of a cake shaming group once that didn’t have this rule and it just turned into people fighting because the people just there to roast were being called mean and being guilt tripped into shutting up so it wasn’t fun anymore.
Everyone hates on Facebook, and rightfully so, but its strong suit is groups like these. The only reason I'm still on there is to check out a handful of groups I've been a part of for years. The weirder the better.
These groups are legit the only good thing left on Facebook.. like a small gold nugget in a sea of Sh!t. They’re the only things I miss after deleting FB, but it just wasn’t enough to stay in that hellhole of a social media site 💀
Scott got sponsored by a mattress company and a couch company. What's next? A toilet? A bidet? On second thought... The bragging rights Scott would gain from getting sponsored by a bidet would be legendary lmao
I once made a baby shower cake of a baby... I had to remake it 3 times because the first version was too realistic and the second was a demon hybrid. But the third version was a cartoonish baby that felt okay to cut and eat.
Jaiden and Scott are truly one of the best RUclips couples! I hope you're both doing great!!! :D You're honestly the funniest RUclipsr I watch!! Keep being you!!!
I'm totally sure but I think "Cake Wreck" refers to a super popular blog from like ten years ago by the same name that just posted pictures of insane cakes. Used to have a massive following.
I loved that blog as a kid, it was like the only fun thing on my school laptop that wasn’t blocked. In twelve-year-old-me’s opinion the person who ran that blog had the best sense of humor. Update, looked it up, the blogger’s name is Jen Yates.
I made my 1st kids birthday cake every year. Every year ended in the middle of the night in tears and mess. I thought I had to make home made to show my love. The 2nd baby (20 years apart) is getting store bought because I love myself too.
10:14 once attended a funeral for a relative whom i was not close with; eulogies were short and every single photo of the person they showed he was holding a beer and a cigarette. i went in knowing nothing about the guy and left knowing arguably less.
I would definitely prefer a hilariously malformed cake over a beautifully made one. It's funnier that way. Bonus points if it has some a character that looks like it'd face is melting.
Absolutely loved the ring shaming video, and now I can add this one to the list of favs as well. Please do more of these! Or anything with Jaiden! Love you guys 😄
I love his videos with Jaiden- they are so cute and hilarious together! :) I love your videos Scott, they always make me smile, and keep it up! Hope everyone has a good day and drinks water. Side note: he got a free couch? Noice man
hey Scott, just wanted to let you know that you're getting me through a particularly rough breakup right now. putting your videos on the tv makes my day easier and brighter. keep doing what you do, the world is better off for it.
there's a blog that collects pictures of bad cakes like these called Cake Wrecks! I assume the group took their name from them since you were confused about that
Scott and Jaiden seem like they'd be awesome parents someday. I'm not trying to pressure anyone or bring up anything painful, I mean this as a compliment!
12:32 they could have basically made drumstick shaped cake pops dipped in melted icing & rolled in gram cracker crumbs. & the bone could have been pretzels dipped in white chocolate. That would’ve been relatively easy
I just started baking recently and I'm a member of quite a few baking groups both cookies and cakes but my cakes Don't look nearly as good as the cakes that most people post. I will say that my very first stacked frosted cake everyone told me was amazing for my first time but I'd really like to check out these groups that have less skilled bakers so that I don't feel quite so inadequate when I see cakes that look like they belong in a cake shop
The m and n examples shown by that person use ligatures (connecting lines). I always hated writing m's and n's like that when learning cursive along with other letters based on how they were taught to us like Q being a 2 The r generally looks like that, some might have a curve in the middle or not sometimes looking like pi. Anyways, love the video
For that Lilo and Stitch cake to be only $65... If you expected it to be good you were sorely mistaken. It would take like 5 hours minimum of labor... Plus ingredients.
Dude you are my favorite RUclipsr, you literally give me a break from all the horror and depression going on in the world. Keep delivering me these spicy wholesome videos you make my day bro. 😎

“Aww sick, it’s cake!”
Jaiden seems so fun to hang out with. 😆
ikr like i wanna be her friend so bad
Literally my exact thought at that moment
They’re like the couple you don’t mind third wheeling, yk?
Watch out. If Scott keeps exposing this very private community, he will wake up with a horse head cake in his bed.
Underrated 🥇
brilliant
It'll be a problem when he finally figures out its a horse head
Final words: “i love it!” (Asdf reference)
how does this not have more likes this comment is literally golden

Scott: *delicately* it looks like... someone... um...
Jaiden: IT LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE TOOK A *GIANT* DUMP ON THAT CAKE!
These groups take their rules VERY seriously. I’m in one where you’re not allowed to say anything other than “yikes” and if you do, people will get mad and tag mods until you either fix it or are muted/banned.
What if you say something like “mega yikes!”? Is that unacceptable?
yikes
i'm in that group and i love it lol. you can also say "sekiy" and post any photos/gifs
But if the mod’s names aren’t yikes wouldn’t they also be breaking the rules? 🤔
yikes
I never thought I would have to specify "boneless" macarons but those baby ones are making me second guess that.
The boneless meme has gone too far
I actually prefer bone-in macarons
Right? The detail is immaculate, but it is nightmare fuel.
Which is why I never fail to specify boneless whenever I order my pizzas. Can't ever be too safe
The amount of fondant in those cakes is the worst part
As a professional cake decorator, I agree
All my homies hate fondant
Fondant is just sugary playdoh
And it doesn’t help that fondant tastes like shit.
I both love and hate the taste of fondant, it is weird.
I think it’s hilarious that we went from roasting “Is It Cake?” to just straight up shaming cakes.
Cut out the middle man!
so nobody’s gonna talk about how weird it is to want a cake that looks like a baby
who would wanna eat that omg
Right? Just the thought of cutting into that with a knife makes me 😬
Me 😋😋😋

The baby macarons are actually sculpts made by artist QimmyShimmy. Her work is weird but super dope!
I found a video about the artist, thank you so much 🙂
Everyone hates on Facebook, and rightfully so, but its strong suit is groups like these. The only reason I'm still on there is to check out a handful of groups I've been a part of for years. The weirder the better.
Fair. I was part of the best group. It was an eating disorder group for parents of kids with it and I learned so much, got so much help.
Groups is the best part of Facebook. If there wasn’t groups I wouldn’t be on there.
I'm in one called "oddly specific playlists" and it's just people crowd sourcing songs, I discover so many new songs it's the best
These groups are legit the only good thing left on Facebook.. like a small gold nugget in a sea of Sh!t. They’re the only things I miss after deleting FB, but it just wasn’t enough to stay in that hellhole of a social media site 💀

The Toilet Paper battle Royal and now this! Scott is making some banger content.
