When the psychologist/doctor warned them that another baby would "guarantee" her falling into a severe depression, their response was "we will have as many babies as possible." This was truly a preventable tragedy. Shame on the husband for bearing little to no responsibility for what happened. He was the level-headed one but wanted to be a "traditional" family. It really infuriates me. The logic he is using of "do we regret having our previous children" is flawed. Just because you don't regret your previous children does not mean you should have more and does not mean you are "wronging" your future, unconceived children. The husband really infuriates me.

Tragically it didn’t spread enough awareness because it has happened again. However I feel, and hope, that Lindsays situation will finally give the push to make change.

My mother was on Haldol. You cannot expect them to take their medicine on their own. The only way she ever became better as it was given to her in a shot form once a month. She did great and the last portion of her life was wonderful, and she was such a sweet grandmother!
I have had depression episodes throughout my life, but I was so lucky to be in love with my babies when they were born, breastfeed, bathed, changed and stared at them while they slept. I enjoyed every moment of it. I feel bad for mothers who go through depression after delivery. It must be really hard to cope with :(
Yea I’ve had severe postpartum Depression with 2/4 of my children. You love them more then life itself. It’s not about not loving them it’s like you don’t love yourself, you have all these negative thought that the baby would be better off without you, you should just end it, etc. it puts you into like a cationic where you can’t even do anything. I was able to get through it because I had a good husband and a good support system who helped me. Some women aren’t so lucky.

I love being a mom to a hyper, sweet and smart little girl, but I did suffer from PPD after giving birth to her this was almost six years ago, it made me think I was a horrible mom because of her upbringing (her dad wasn't around and I was still living at home) I thought she deserved better, I knew it was getting bad when I mentioned to my doctor I wanted to hurt or off myself because I felt like a failure to her, I still have my moments but not as severe like it was and I'm happy I'm still here to see her grow up into a wonderful kid💜

Don’t blame it on poor mental health care. He’s is as much at fault for not following doctors warnings that having another baby could trigger psychosis. This could of all been easily avoided if they didn’t have a 5th child. Raising 1 is hard enough. He put expectations on her that wasn’t able to handle and it’s stressful enough. But had he not had a 5th child, the other four may still be alive and most likely would be. Stopping her anti psychotic and having another baby causing he pushed for it and woulda kept on having more and more cause he is selfish and as much at fault as her

No, if she/her husband used birth control and sought mental health treatment and she actually put in the work to keep up with the treatment/followed the doctors orders. At the time of her arrest, Andrea was a thin, disheveled-looking robot. I don’t think Rusty was acting like a Christian at all! A Christian family is a loving family following Jesus. And Jesus came not to be served, but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many. A Christian husband loves his wife as Christ loved His church and gave Himself up for her. Rusty did neither.

All her supporters won’t acknowledge this. They need to read the court documents of exactly what she did to her children. She held them down and physically fought them with such force that their INTERNAL ORGANS were bruised. She also held each one under water for so long that their brains were swollen to the size of adult brains and weighed an extreme amount during the autopsies.

These people/communities that try to keep up a picture perfect lifestyle, will ignore common sense, warnings and advice. I know women who don't want more kids but say their husband( who doesn't help with the first one) wants more. They're drowning in stress, anxiety, depression but won't stand up for themselves because they don't want to be single/divorced.

Meds obviously help but it’s scary that they temporarily fix the problem. Like someone off meds could do something so heinous. It so easy for person to just not take meds
They had an evangelist preacher who spoke in tongues, wore a devil's mask and convinced Andrea that her children were going to hell unless she did something to save them. He was at the core of her psychosis, and it's swept under the rug.
