    Honestly, I don’t think we’ll ever see a sea vessel go faster than the Spirit of Australia. Not because of technology restraints, but because of safety. Attempting the land speed record on the water is super dangerous and has claimed the lives of many who attempted the record, this includes Donald Campbell, Lee Taylor, Craig Arfons the list goes on. The tiniest mistake of miscue can prove fatal, even with the mentality of most land speed record holders that makes them risk life and limb for the history books, it’s just not a risk anybody is willing to take

    Just a few things to watch out for next time. Overall though a good video.
    1: Use knots, not MPH or KPH. Nautical term.
    2: Plenty of ships were sitting way above the waterline. Yamato looked like she was hovering over the water.
    3: RMS Titanic's 4th funnel was decretive, it wasn't an actual smoke stack funnel.
    (and just a small gripe) Why is King Kong covered in feathers?

    So the Olympic class ships were barely any slower than present day cruise ships?

    • @majorneptunejr
      @majorneptunejr 7 месяцев назад

      Cruise ships don't need top go fast they don't cross the ocean. Also speed cost money.

    • @__-fm5qv
      @__-fm5qv 6 месяцев назад +1

      Generally ocean liners are quicker than cruise ships, as they need to be able to compensate for bad weather to make up time and keep a tight schedule. So it's not surprising that they were about as fast as modern cruise ships! That being said, though not the fastest ocean liners of their day, they weren't slow for the time either, only being slightly slower than the speed kings, the Mauritania and Lusitania.
