Great review Gary, it was a pleasure to meet you in person and to share an enthusiasm for these types of cars (oh and aircraft, but that's a different story). The boost is actually 1.6 to 1.8 bar (told you wasn't a statistics guy), I think I got the rest right (nothing is scripted you know). It's a fun car, yes it's a Fiesta and lots of people will have an opinion on whether it's worth spending that sort of money on and for that money what other cars could you have, but these things are rarely thought out from the start and this is 3 years of ownership and work. I'm very pleased with how it's turned out, so it's not just a Fiesta, it's my Fiesta! You put a lot of work in to these videos, all in your own time, so I'm looking forward to the next one. I may even get my RS out for your camera in summer....but only if it's dry (damn garage queen that it is!).
You got some tasteful mods on your fiesta. Sounds fantastic not too loud and can hear the conversation inside the cabin. Glad the outside looks almost stock looks great
Hi Keith, I also have a Fiesta ST with the RT330 turbo tuned by a local Revo authorised dealer here in South Africa. On my car I get severe compressor surge between 3000rpm to 5000rpm but I don't hear it on your car in that rev range. I do hear the flutter on your car when changing gears, but that is different to what I experience. Who did your installation and do you have any dump valves installed?
I've heard of this, but mostly in the US where the turbos are not run with the Revo software (different ecu) and I'm not sure if that's the same case in SA? Mine was installed and mapped by a Revo dealer, the map options are limited with the Revo software.
Hi Keith, the SA cars are also EU spec cars so my car is the same spec as yours and it use the same ECU. I used a Revo authorised dealer here in Cape Town that worked together with Revo in the UK to get a tune that work. I have watched a lot of the UK spec cars with the Revo RT330 turbo and on all of them I can clearly hear the surge on low rpm, but on yours it seems to be a bit different. I did listen again to your video and between 8:22 and 8:24 you can hear the surge at low rpm on your car as well on a wide open throttle. Mine is just more pronounced.Do you you have an aftermarket dump valve on your car?
@@doinkydeano2226 Owned it for two weeks now, best decision ever. Such an incredible little car to drive, and I've barely had time to get it anywhere near it's potential yet. What mods you getting?
@@samlockhart8865 for now, I'm upping the brakes because they need to be changed anyway so going aftermarket on those. Then exhaust is being changed, not sure what to yet because I don't want to be obnoxious but it needs a better sound. Then induction. @@doinkydeano2226 Yea agree about the exhaust, that'll be the first thing I do. It just needs a little more of a grunt out of it. Like you say not obnoxious, but just a tad more.
This is awesome! I have a 2016 ST3 in molten orange, it’s got the Collins performance cp2 map on it atm. I love it but I still feel like I want more power hahaha. Love my fiesta though, cracking little cars.
Great review as always, sensible, articulate, and also showing the fun you get with these cars and what is so good about them. You can keep them stock, add a few subtle mods - eg MP215 - or, as here, go to whole new levels. Whatever you do, or don't do, it's a great car. This car looks a real beast - yet perfectly usable day to day, which is what these fast Fords are all about. What tyres are on it - Bridgestones?

Lush car. Amazing what was possible with the mk7 engine. There's a lot of skepticism about the mk8 3 pot but the first tunes seem to have some huge gains... So let's just wait and see! Hopefully mountune have their map out soon, my mk8 is coming in a few weeks!

Interesting video, there's no doubt that model & the latest Fiesta ST's are fantastic hot hatches, with this much power though wow. There's been issues with the 1.6 ecoboost though I believe, cracked blocks leading to overheating, hopefully it's a rare event
Great video! Not watched your stuff for a while but been subbed since you had the Fiesta and when you were speccing up the RS etc :) Do you know what springs he was using? Interesting to see an ST that smooth
Does this put the power down better stage 3 with the LSD than stage 2 without? Anyone know the difference between the quaife dif and the mountune that is half the price?
The stage 3 will be better than stage 2 due to the bigger turbo (assuming stage 2 is at the standard turbo's max). The Fiesta is a very capable little car so without a LSD it's fine to drive, but with it it's better. The Quaife diff is the Mountune diff (I even think Mountune market it under the Quaife name as they have sole distribution rights to it) so the price is £804 for either. I have a MFactory diff which is the same as a Quaife but less money (again due to the Mountune exclusivity on the Quaife) at around £660. All prices are plus fitting and new bearings, seals and bolts. It's worth noting Mountune fitted price for the Quaife diff is vey good.
@@keithstapleton7805 Thankyou for your reply, I went stage 2 just before Christmas and have been struggling for traction compared to my mp215 think I would take advantage of the diff now before I consider stage 3. I saw that Mountune do a fitted price of around £1000 which is cheaper than the pricing of the quaife without fitting( I think I saw it priced around £1100 but your price of around £800 seems more reasonable). thanks again for your info and reply.
@@CarFocused ah quite interesting that you thought it would be the other way around with it being a bigger engine and still running the stock garret 25 turbo. Suppose that's progress in engineering for you! The power looked more manageable in the fiesta it seemed

Any one recommend any similar hatches that are cheap to tune? Got an astra 1.6T gtc but after seeing the st180s I'm feeling a Christmas present to myself.
Had ford built an rs fiesta it would have been a monster buttt it would've out sold the focus rs hence why they didn't build one had 2 focus rs mk2 1 focus rs mk3 1 focus st and now fiesta st as an all round car on public roads and counting running costs the fiesta is best of them all
The stock brakes are terrible? 60-0 in 97ft? Is that the US version? The eibach suspension looks like it rides terrible. I've never rode in a aftermarket suspension that is better than stock. ALL aftermarket suspensions ruin the car. Nor does it increase the handling. I'm speaking from experience.
@@manz7860 I guess everything has its limits but generally speaking when you consider the volume of sales and tuning available atm a stage 3 is tolerated pretty well if maintenance is adhered to etc
