I love your new Babylock overlocker. It's such a dream to use. Mine is a very simple Juki, it's a workhorse, but way more complicated than the Babylock. Great vlog, thanks so much ❤
That was so good to see. I have been wondering about the overlocker threads. I find mine uncomfortable in some garments. Now I know what to buy. You just answered my question. Great to hear about the coverstitch that you can Chain off with. Although I'm very lucky to even have one😊. Your machine looks beautiful. Thank you so much for showing us ❤❤
You’re welcome Katrina, the thread does cost more but behaves perfectly and is also good for the coverstitch machine, which can be quite finicky when coverstitching. Have a great sewing week,Ndebele 🪡🧵💕
Thanks Angela, it is a wonderful overlocker, I’m very pleased with the performance, an expensive outlay but well worth it have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕
Hi Cat, I forgot to mention about an in-depth video by Megan from Sew and Tell here is the link. ruclips.net/video/wAMoesh0hIA/видео.htmlsi=zFhk4Aq9x860Go8P. This is a great video and it will get you hooked, such a fabulous machine, Deb 🪡🧵💕
Hello Deb. Your overlocker is fantastic! Congratulations on "treating" yourself to one. I have the very basic overlocker from Spotlight, and although it doesn't "air thread" it is very easy to thread, and it has a differential feed. I have been thinking of upgrading and when I do I am going to go for the Juki with the air threading system, I am in Bendigo, and I don't think that the technicians really know much about them but where I get my Bernina services is also a Juki retailer, so for maintenance of the overlocker, I think that I will be better off investing in a Juki (who own Baby Lock). Could you please share where you buy your Maxi Lock thread? I know that there are online sellers but I find them a bit expensive. Thank you and I hope you are feeling better from your shingles
Hi Alison, I gave myself a choice of 2, the Babylock or the Juki, I have always found an overlocker and a coverstitch machines easy to thread, so that was never really an issue, but I know it is for some sewists. I get my thread from Echinda sewing, you can also use Resant thread that is also a high quality thread. My very first overlocker didn’t have differential feed and was very basic, but I used that for 20 years before my I got a new one, if I hadn’t broken my new Janome I would not have purchased a new one. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕
It is a beautiful machine Deb. I haven't done a rolled hem yet. Did you get an elastic foot with yours. I was thinking maybe that would be good for bathers.
Hi Libby, yes I did get an elastic for with mine but have not tested it out yet, I think I will look up and see if you can get an elastic foot for my coverstitch machine, does your coverstitch have an elastic foot, Deb 🪡🧵💕
