Szöveg:
Ti magyarok már Istent imádjátok,
És Őnéki nagy hálákat adjatok,
Jelösben Tiszán innét kik lakoztok,
Egri vitézöknek sok jót mondjatok.
Töröknek halljátok már indulását,
Az basáknak Egör alá szállását,
A sok ágyú miatt szörnyű romlását,
Ostromokon sok töröknek hullását.
Rettenetös ostrom kezdetött vala,
Akkor belül senki ott nem áll vala,
Vitéz Dobó bent földbástyában vala,
Viadalhoz népit biztatja vala.
Ott svancár és rézdobokat verének,
Trombitákkal hangos sípok zengének,
Sok lövésök, kőhányások levének,
Kik miatt két félben ott eldőlének.
Az drabantokban sokan elveszének,
Törökökben naggyal többen veszének,
Meghalának, sokan sebösödének,
Várbéli vitézök zászlót nyerének
Ezt ki szerzé nagy betegös voltában
Kincses Kassában egy füstös szobában,
Tinódinak hívják mind ez országban,
Ezerötszáz és az ötvenháromban.
Tinódi Sebestyénnek
Tollából szólt e dal
Lantjával énekmondva
Szólt históriákat
Magyarországot bejárván
Itták a szavát

I'm Turkish and I love Hungarians. We say "Eğri" Castle. Hungarians are sons of Attila.
No they are not. Attila was the leader of the Huns, a tribe that dominated Asia in the 5th century and even formed an empire with other tribes like Ostrogoths, Alans, Bulgars. He became famous for his incursions in Europe. The Magyars were an alliance of tribes from the Ural mountains not related to the Huns. They came to Europe much later in the 9th century. The myth of Hungarians being the "sons of Attila" appeared in the middle ages, in various fantastic stories about a giant that was the father of two brothers, Hunor and Magor, who founded the Hunic and Magyar tribes. In the middle ages, most people were illiterate and liked this kind of fantastic stories, just like the Vikings were fond of their sagas. Sadly, politicians have abused such fantastic stories to raise nationalistic feelings and it worked: some people want to believe stories about dragons and giants more than the reality, hence the myth is staying popular even today.
That being said, this is a great song :)
@@bogdan_nicolae just like Nicolae Iorga invented your daco-roman history eh? Oh wait he lived in the modern age, so he shouldn't have been illiterate right? You said only illiterate people believe such stories no? Your own "daddy" Emperor Traianus contradicts him in his warlogs and on the Column, but hey what are facts to you romanians eh?
I suggest you hit up your DEX and filter out all the russian, turkish and hungarian words to find your own albanian roots, you'll have enough to make a poster flyer I guess with just the 5% XIXth century-added latin words and the so-called "dacic" words that are in fact albanian words...
@@Vengeance22 I believe people like you are the reason why civilized discussions are difficult. No logic at all, just a random string of irrelevant topics that have nothing to do with the Huns, which was the object of this discussion. You just wasted everybody's time with insults. Next time, teach us a lesson about Attila, if you really feel like taking "vengeance" on your keyboard :)
@@bogdan_nicolae In the word of 'hungarian' is a word: 'hun'. Is that a mistake?? Our friends and enemies from the ancient times called us huns. Is that a mistake?? Our culture, songs, folk music, ornamenthic and anthropological figure, fighting style, wear style, gastronomy culture is the same like huns and turkic nations. Is that a mistake?? I think you are the big mistake.
Ez Tinódinak is nagyon tetszene.
inkább forog a sírjában
Az lantját kezébe fogá, hurok közé csapván csatlakozna vala meghallván ezen esmerős dallamokat fülének.... :D

Megnézem a többit is!

@@bordosarkany You guys have really awesome music. Keep it up!
Is the line "ott svancár" supposed to be "Ostromszár és rézdobokat vérének" ?? Because that's what Laci sounds like he's singing...
"..Ott svancár és rézdobokat verének,.." svancár = Schweitzer with oldies Hungarianness. The text means that the Swiss in the castle make noise with copper drums
The first part is from the original work with the language at the time. (To ..Tinódi Sebestyénnek tollából szólt a dal )
B...hatjuk

Could someone translate the lyrics in english
It is difficult because the first part is written in oldies Hungarian. (Quoted from the original work)
The text of the song came from old fragmentations of chronicles from mid-16th century, hard to translate it in that style, so I'll try to translate the raw content with some explanation of names: Eger is the castle sieged (unsuccesfully) by Ottomans who were btw 30-50 times more than the Hungarian defenders so it was a glorious victory. Dobó (István) was the captain of the castle.
Hungarians, you worship God,
and give great thanksgiving to him.
Those, who dwell in this side of the river Tisza
say a lot of good to the heroes of Eger
You hear the departure of the Turks,
the arriving of the Pashas under Eger,
the many cannons that cause terrible deterioration,
the many Turks who fell under the siege
A terrible siege had begun,
No one was standing inside then,
The valiant Dobó was in an earthen bastion,
encouraging his people to fight.
There they beat drum and copper drums,
Loud whistles sound with trumpets,
A lot of shots and wall collapsing
killed many of the two sides,
but many more of the Turks,
They died, many were wounded,
The heroes of the castle won the flag.
(the original medieval writer started to write about himself:)
Who wrote this poem while he was very ill,
in a smoky room of the wealthy city of Kassa,
is called Tinód allover in this country,
in one thousand five hundred and fifty-three.
To Sebestyén Tinódi
This song came from his pen
Singing with his lute
told he stories.
When he was wandering Hungary,
people drank his words,
he was the herald of heroic deeds
and he became a famous chronicler
(the last two paragraph is repeated a few times till the end)
Itt egy indián zene. Hasonlítsd össze: ruclips.net/video/8kQZHYbZkLs/видео.html
