In order to sue someone, u need to show that u suffered financial loss of that amount or ur brand is expected to suffer a financial loss of that amount. I don't think she lost R13mil due to MacG remarks, so this is just something that probably gonna be thrown out.

the reason people like the news are usually safe when using 'alledgely' is because their bulletins are written to convey information without bias or malice or scandal or any emotive language that shows emotion or opinions held regarding it.
Anchors and reporters avoid "I kid you not" and other such phrases because the goal is for viewers and listeners to get the news. They are not allowed to have their own opinions because one of the reasons is it could lead them to being sued.
They also make it a certainty to go out and seek the news directly from sources and if it comes elsewhere they cite said sources. Hearing 'in Botswana' is a very vague statement and could be said by any person, credible or not.
I'm not surprised-it's been a long time coming. Honestly, I'm more surprised it didn't happen sooner. The things said about people like Kamo Mphela on the podcast, with no proof, were bound to catch up eventually.
No amount of "allegedly" will save you from a lawsuit if you're making unfounded accusations without citing reliable sources. And you better make sure those sources are eyewitnesses or have concrete evidence.
Too many content creators throw dirt on people's names just for clicks. But if you mess with someone who has the means to hire good lawyers, you’ll find out the hard way. Whether she wins or loses isn’t even the point-the time and money Mac will spend fighting this will set a precedent. More people may come after him and his assets. Even if he doesn't have the liquid cash, they’ll garnish those Podcast and Chill and Grandeur checks until the debt is paid.

It is to highlight the dire need we have as a nation for schools to start implementing and intergrating some law into lesson plans so a lot less people may be aware of what is and isn't possible in their own country according to its constitution.
Throwing "alledgelly" into a sentence is not a simple get out of jail free card (no pun intended) people think it is. There are many things that are looked into in any case, lawyers know this which is why something that looks like no case (speaking generally and not specifically about this one) could result in defendents losing and actually being liable to paying when things are said done.
Saying things on record and publishing them is the risk one must be willing to war for when people actually come with rebuttles.
