i dont care wat anyone says but i think flyleaf is an amazing band.. i feel like their message is really powerful and sp are their lyrics, and unlike many bands out there they actually take the time to think about wat they write.
The reason she sounds so bad here is because she had major vocal damage. She wrote about it in her book and said that her doctor was surprised she could still talk, let alone sing.
I was so confused when I started singing the beginning and the lyrics were different. Is there a version with these lyrics because I want desperately want to hear it??? o.o
sammy01220 I'm sure she was improvising. Musicians do it all the time live, especially if this song was barely written or was still in the process of being recorded. Probably came up with the final version after sitting down and taking the time to rewrite some parts before the final was recorded. I've done that with my music. Either way she is amazing!
This was before they released the studio version. This was just the lyrics for the demo version, and they hadn’t recorded the studio version - which they ended up re-writing more than half of the song.
Actually, I think she stripped her vocal chords. Either that or she had strep throat, I've heard both stories. If you listen to her live other places, she sounds great. It's just this time her voice sounds strained. She doesn't suck live.
