- My name is Lily and as of March 2017, I am a junior in Francis Lewis High School. I spent two days recording and editing this video because I sympathize with incoming freshmen to this school.

To all the freshman coming in that don't know anyone in the school, I promise that you will make friends. The first two weeks I was a freshman I was so alone but now I have a lot of friends, don't feel discouraged

i'm currently a sophomore at franny (2022). the annex opened in september and they got rid of the trailers. the school is still quite packed (def more ppl than last year; you literally have to push each other to get to where you need to go). advice i have for incomings freshies in '23 is to just enjoy yourself! you're gonna be pretty busy the following three years. also, don't stress out too much about making friends too much. the first couple of weeks in my freshman year, i basically knew one person. a few months later, i have a lot of friends.
last year, i decided that i just wanna get used to the environment of the school, so i didn't join any clubs and all of that.
this video is still pretty useful for new/transfer students or students who are gonna be in franny starting next school year !

hi! i hope u don’t mind if i ask some questions hehe, i’m thinking of transferring here! (current 9th grader). i was wondering about the homework load and how often tests/quizzes are given? is it stressful pls be honest 🥲 do many of the students go on to ivy league colleges or is it more uncommon? i’ve been researching about this school and the more i’m looking it looks like it’ll suit me so :) thanks in advance!

I'm a senior and just some extra info here...
JROTC counts as a major now! There is also an amazing music department. I'm in the school choir (that's counts as a major too) also majors like the forensic science Institute (I'm in that too). There is a art major available as well as virtual enterprise (business) which is VERY popular.
Is there any other information I need to know? I'm attending FLHS next year and I'm really excited!

what's so good about JROTC?
Sabrina Night JROTC in my oppinon I don't like but still it will help gaining credits and you get out of fun, that's a bonus if you have weights

Senior year has been my favorite year so far I can’t wait to graduate Francis Lewis has been a crazy journey it was a pretty bad experience not saying everyone would have this experience. But for freshman just participate and don’t make dumb decisions. And btw I LOVE THE BACKGROUND MUSIC ON THIS VIDEO 😂

Just graduated. FLHS is making another building instead of an anex. Green house will be in the new building. It is still almost 5000 students. I'm going to miss it 💖💕 Bye Franny

I'm sorta late. Almost a whole year late, but how many periods does FLHS have? And what's the usual schedule? Or like when the school starts to end. Does it also have lockers, like in the hallways?
amrin j We have periods 0-11( no you won't have all of them) A usual schedule for Freshmen is 1-8, 2-9, 3-10. They can get longer depending on the programs and clubs you join. (The schedule gets shorter in the upper grades but again longer depending on clubs and programs. Due to our overcrowding we don't have lockers in the halls there's just not enough room. We do have a gym locker though, you can leave some gym stuff in there.

I'm in 8th grade and I have francis lewis as #1 on my list I will love to go to this school also I will love to be on NuGammaPsi and plus in already in a step team and see them at comepitions should I go to the school I'm scared because of the fact like in grades wise the lowest I get is 75 and im not sure I'm eligable

i'm going to be freshman next fall. can anyone tell me what it means by native spanish language option in standard program? i'm doubting between this and nonnative chinese. i talk spanish at home, so i wouldn't like a course on learning the language from zero, since i can understand perfectly and talk spanish. eg i don't want to be taught how to say "how old are you?" or "where do you live?"
I just need to hone my writing skills and reading regular books in spanish.

Anyway I’m a sophomore and I’m in JROTC (2year in it) and also in key club along with paper bridges I was hoping to be in cooking club, gardening club, chess club, and Red Cross club like I was last year for my freshman year but it’s different now that everyone starts different times and ends.
i transferred to this school during sophomore year summer going into junior year. to my luck, covid came and online school here was pretty trash. i’m going to be a senior now, hopefully i’ll have a decent time

my brother goes there and a lot of my friends go there and im going into freshman year, I play classical piano and I wanna know if the orchestra has a or needs an accompaniment I would love to join. Also, I wanna know about the clubs and what is worth joining
The school offers choir, string orchestra, piano classes, junior band, honors concert band, music appreciation, marching band, and jazz band!
As for clubs, Key Club and JROTC look impressive on resumes/college applications. Also Media Club is pretty cool 👀

just finished freshmen i moved tho, its a really good school not gonna lie, just make sure you socialize wit people join a team like track or sum. And the teachers are fire I ain't even going cap

This school does not take you by how much is your grade you have to be zoned students to accept you
@@ghaida-97no? I got in and I’m not zoned , it’s a lottery I was in group two bc my average was a 92
it has different ways to get in. By grades, which they have to be 90+, very difficult to get in depending on the program, eg computer science; By zone if you live near fl.

I'm attending FLHS next year and I'm really excited. How is the school currently?
Im just a freshie but I guess every opinion would matter! I feel like its fine. The kids are most of the time loud and routy but depending on the person you are, (and your past experiences in MS) you could either like it or not feel comfortable at first ! But dont worry, you would make friends quite quickly and this school just has so many programs, teams and clubs that anything could make you busy! btw, would you be interested in making a group with me just for freshmen on facebook for next year and the years to come?
To be honest, I'm super nervous for next year because I'm usually super shy but now I feel better. Thank you and yes! I would love to make a group with you!

It depends on which grade you're in. Typically juniors and seniors' schedules are shorter, and they get to leave earlier.

@@cgs223 first things first,super overcowded,the students are a bit violent sometimes,PT is cold,school lunch is the same everyday and 3 tests per 2 weeks is what im getting so far
