Christian nationalism, as championed by figures like Joel Webbon, often merges a distorted understanding of Christianity with a revisionist view of American history. These individuals claim to be the spiritual heirs of the revolutionary-era Christians who rebelled against British rule. They use this narrative to justify their current political goals, including harsh stances on immigration and a quest for cultural dominance. However, this interpretation of history and theology misrepresents both the teachings of Jesus and the complex nature of the American Revolution. During the American Revolution, Christians were deeply divided. Loyalist Christians believed that rebellion against the British Crown violated biblical commands like those in Romans 13, which call for submission to governing authorities. On the other hand, some Patriot Christians used religious language to frame their rebellion as a fight for divine rights. This division highlights that the revolution was not a purely Christian movement but a mix of Enlightenment ideals, political ambition, and economic grievances, often cloaked in spiritual rhetoric. Claiming this revolutionary legacy as a definitive Christian heritage ignores the diversity of thought among believers of that era. Christian nationalists often depict Jesus as a conquering ruler who endorses their vision of a theocratic state. This depiction contrasts sharply with the Jesus of the Gospels, who embodied humility, peace, and sacrificial love. Jesus rejected violence as a means to achieve His kingdom, as demonstrated when He rebuked Peter for drawing a sword in His defense. Rather than embracing force, Jesus taught His followers to love their enemies, turn the other cheek, and seek peace. This portrayal of Jesus as a nationalist liberator or a divine enforcer misunderstands the nature of His mission. While the Old Testament includes narratives of conquest and judgment, the New Testament reveals the fulfillment of God’s kingdom through self-sacrifice and reconciliation. The Jesus of Christian nationalists is less a suffering servant and more a figure of divine wrath, wielded to justify political and cultural power. This vision abandons the gospel’s central message of grace and peace. The implications of this ideology are particularly evident in attitudes toward immigration. Christian nationalists often advocate for harsh measures against undocumented immigrants, sometimes justifying these views with a distorted theology. This stance contradicts the Bible’s commands to love and care for the stranger, as seen in Leviticus and the teachings of Jesus in Matthew 25. Biblical Christianity transcends national boundaries, calling all people to unity in Christ and rejecting tribalism and exclusion. Nationalism that prioritizes one group over others undermines the mission of the gospel. The kingdom of God is not confined to any single nation or ethnicity but is global, inclusive, and centered on Christ’s redemptive work. The portrayal of Jesus as a militant figure enforcing political goals is a profound departure from His true character. The New Testament consistently presents Him as the Prince of Peace, who conquered through humility and love rather than force or domination. His kingdom is not of this world, and His followers are called to embody reconciliation and grace. Conflating Christianity with nationalism not only distorts the gospel but also risks leading others into a faith rooted in power rather than the transformative love of Christ. It is crucial for believers to reject this vision and return to the authentic teachings of Jesus, who calls His followers to humility, compassion, and peace.
Those people would do well to read John 3:17 (the verse right after everybody's favorite!!😊), where it talks about how the whole purpose of Jesus coming into the world was not to condemn the world, but to SAVE it!! (They seem to forget about that!)

I used to listen to him when he first started, but stopped after he appeared to become an extremist who loves controversy. I’ve always had a problem with his demeanor and what has always appeared to me as lack of genuine emotions and compassion in the midst of all his sermons and videos. He just appears to me antagonistic and psychopathic too often to me. Often enough for me to stop watching his videos. Truth without love is hard to swallow. Even if he’s right on certain issues, people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. And he just doesn’t come across as if he genuinely cares for others.
What is interesting is how he uses a calm tone in his rhetoric to come off as if he’s actually right for the way he thinks. I have watched how he keeps such a low calm tone to be disarming to those he’s in front of. It actually quite interesting to watch and to know people are deceived by this, into thinking that he’s onto something
There seems to be a massive misunderstanding amongst most commenters here concerning the role of OT moral law for us today. God’s moral law is still binding on all of humanity today. (Not ceremonial law) And the consequences for sinful actions like murder and rape should absolutely be enforced even when scripture calls for capital punishment. To claim that the new covenant somehow undermines God’s law who is love is to claim that God’s own standards for holiness is unloving. Christ was the fulfillment of the ceremonial and moral law and because of our faith in him we UPHOLD the law. Romans 3
No differentiation between "moral" and "ceremonial" law in the Hebrew text nor in the Newer Testament. IT is basic human morality that drives us, not some passage from Leviticus. @ You sound angry. Secondly, you are right that scripture does not make a explicit distinction between the types of laws but that does not mean they are not there. The same thing is true of the trinity. It is pretty plain to see that there are laws (ceremonial) that foreshadow the arrival, life, death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. This is why when gentiles are grafted into the kingdom of God they are never once charged with needing to follow all of the customary Jewish practices and “ceremonial” laws. They are however charged with following all of God’s moral laws and therefore making a distinction between the two.

@@sevencrickets9258 As Christians Jesus told us to preach the Gospel, to love your neighbor as yourself and to love our enemies. Christian nationalists like Joel Webbon misrepresent both Jesus and history by conflating Christianity with political rebellion and cultural dominance. While they portray Jesus as a militant enforcer supporting their agenda, the Bible reveals Him as the Prince of Peace who rejected violence and called His followers to love their enemies. Early Christian worship focused on humility, simplicity, and unity, not nationalistic power. Their stance on issues like immigration, driven by exclusion and harshness, contradicts Scripture’s clear commands to love the stranger and care for the vulnerable. Christianity transcends national borders and earthly politics, centering on Christ’s kingdom, which is not of this world. The gospel calls for grace, not force, and faithfulness to Christ means rejecting distorted ideologies that confuse power with holiness.

@@churchdropoutYou and so many others cannot make the church state distinction. Is murder wrong? Who says? What's the punishment? Why? Who does the punishing? The church tells us that murder is wrong, and the scriptures are the only sound foundation. The punishment is prescribed by the scripture, but ultimately, the state must decide, and it is the state that administers the punishment. Christians can and should speak into the state and push God's standard to be the state's standard. The state will legislate some form of morality, and I'd prefer it to be Christian seeing as how it honors God and all.

Yeah where is Kdub, Corey(Smart Christian), and other who are so quick to talk about Jamal Bryant using the church to talk about Trump and promote Kamela. Kdub said they twist scriptures. So I guess he is using it right??? It's amazing they are silent but let Jamal Bryant say something like this.
You said it.
Kris Williams and Caldwell Apologetics have a Two Hour Livestream where they basically Rebuke Webbon harshly and Tear his evil Rhetoric to Shreds on Caldwell's Channel.
Oops, almost Forgot, one of Kris's new songs, "Shut up and Rap" is also a Colossal Rebuke (and a Deserved one) against Webbon, so, that is also worth a Listen IMO!
@@simeonyves5940 Amen.
Corey (Smart Christian) did an over 2 hour talk with Joel Webbon and liked someone said Corey silenced him with the Word of GOD had him looking foolish and silly, The title of the video is: Is This Pastor Racist? It is cut dowm to a little over hour. Over a year ago Webbon was on Mike Wiinger and Ruslan and was not talking crazy racist nonsense since Ruslan wife is black and Mike Winger corrected him about theonomy. And kris Williams, Vocab Malone, Caldwell Apologetics and others on a livesteam where they biblically tried to slap some sense in him. And other Christians online have shined the light on him and CN-- But it seems to do no good because this Webbon person is Unbiblical, Deceived, Loves Partiality On Many Levels and is Not Righht In The Head & Heart.
You wrongly assume. Kdub has already had it out with Webbon.
Any updates on the Venezuelan migrant who murdered nursing student Laken Riley?

Okay. We hold a whole community responsible for the acts a few?

💯
I have spoken against this on X, but even though I quoted Scripture I was called an emotional woman. The whoas of this world are all my fault because of the high crime of being a woman.
Goodness knows I can have a low view on Women at times Sister Tina, but I would far sooner listen to you than a Murderous Psychopath like Webbon! for at Least you are Eternally Saved in Christ! so what happened to you on X is just utterly, utterly Sickening, and is Typical of the Neo Nazi Barbarism (as even the Highest Women in Society were seen as not even worth Half of the Lowest Male Criminal in Nazi Ideology, a View that they actually took from Islam! Hitler never hid his admiration of Mohammad do not forget) of him and his followers, they are Horrid, Evil, Reprobate People! the Blind being led by the Blind! and their Rhetoric, which I know all too well from before I was saved, is just Evil! it has come from the very Pit!
@@tinas7909 thank you for sharing, I'm hoping that you didn't receive or believe anything that was spoken to you by the heretics. Yes! We are in the new testament and I salute you for speaking truths of scripture, 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
That’s crazy.
Ah, so everything revolves around you. Classic woman behavior 😂.
Webbon does not like women. Especially childless singles over 25 who work for a living. He made a video condemning the adulteress in Proverbs for being a "career woman" even though the passage implies she used her husband's money for all her shenanigans. Proverbs 7:10-23. It's the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31 who helps with the breadwinning. (Her husband is proud of her.)
Dean Lentini Underdog Theology, Examining Moscow, Do Theology are addressing Joel Webbon. Webbon believes we are in the Old Testament. The New Testament tells Christians preach the Gospel. and love our enemies. Thank You for addressing this by using the Gospel. You are contending earnestly for the Faith once for all handed down to the saints
@@theresaread72 absolutely. Dean is awesome!
And another example of not understanding the church state distinction. Should murder be illegal in your nation? Who says? Should there be a punishment? What punishment? By what standard? You are infantile in your thinking.
@ goo goo gaga
@@sevencrickets9258 As Christians Jesus told us to preach the Gospel, to love your neighbor as yourself and to love our enemies.
The Government has the power to enact laws to have levels of punishment for evil doers.
Jesus told us to go and preach the Gospel. We are called to go, but now the Wirld is coming here, and God is giving us the privilege of sharing the Gospel here.
James and John wanted to destroy enemies by calling down fire on those who were rejecting the Gospel and Jesus said you do not know what spirit you are of, meaning Satan.
@theresaread72 Where does the government get it's standard of what is right and wrong? What are crimes? What are measured punishments? Standards for witnesses?
We forget that Jesus was both an immigrant and a refugee. Would he shoot Jesus?
Come on now! 🔥
Are you kidding?? He'd already have Him in his crosshairs first chance he got!
Webbon would Probably try and blow the Lord and Savior clean out of his Sandals the first chance he got... he worships Moses, Not Christ Jesus the Lord! it's all old Testament Wrath for him, and unless he Repents, that is what he will Receive, for Jesus will tell him that He, Jesus, never knew him... and that is why I pray that he does repent, and comes crashing down on his knees afore the Cross of Christ to be saved, for I do not want even him, Webbon, as horrid as he is, to experience the Eternal Wrath of God!
Yes. Yes he would shoot Jesus. 😢
Dude talks too much and too fast but somehow, says absolutely nothing every time!😂
Lol
The context is a political discussion. It in no way indicates how he thinks the church should respond.
That doesn’t make it any better. + Joe is a pastor and he would say his view of policy is driven by his faith.
LIES!!! He very much thinks the church should respond this way. This is not the first time he has said some outrageous stuff like this.
@@ChiRhoXP3 he also said biblical justice not political justice. Either way I disagree.
COPE.

WHO EVER IS DAT PASTOR, WHAT IF HIS CHILDREN START TO SUFFER FROM THE WICKED WISHES FROM THERE FATHER?
And they wonder why people are walking - no, RUNNING - away from the church in droves. Because of false "Christians" like this "pastor"! He better repent or he's going to find out on that day just how much Jesus appreciated his "ministry"!!
Exactly. People are running away from things like this.
They don't care. In their view, anyone who leaves the church because it has become a house of hate was never a Christian to begin with.
Y'all are blind. The Antioch statement wasn't written because people are running from Joel. It's because they are running to him. Joel is spot on. You all live in a fantasy land where you think a secular government ought not be informed by the word of God. The job of the church is to preach the gospel to all. The job of the state is to protect its people. The state will legislate morality, and as the church should inform that. For a nation to uphold God's standard is honoring to God and a mercy to the people of that nation.
It is not ok. Makes me sick.
Unfortunately, Mike Winger, who I really like, has made no attempt to preach on racism or address foolishness like this. However, he has done a CRT podcast. Shameful.
Agree! Mike Winger spent endless hours denouncing Benny Hinn, and not 5 minutes denouncing despicable pastors like Joel Webbon and Doug Wilson. Then again, he also said we should ignore Trump's vile character because his policies are more Christian. I guess a diseased tree can bear good fruit according to Mike.
Mike Winger interviewed Joel Webbon at Webbon’s invitation and stated off the batt he disagrees with him! ruclips.net/video/Jbbfx4YAj2A/видео.htmlsi=48lyqr2LnRa9DlpW But it’s mostly on theonomy. Not sure Winger addresses Webbon’s racism, haven’t watched it yet.
