😎👍
Yes, agree. Walmart is where I do all my shopping. These ten favorites are regular staples in our house, so definitely agree with Danno.
Frozen veggies have already been blanched and if you need freezer space and have a dehydrator you can dehydrate them directly from the from the frozen state and vac seal them for storage. My rule is dehydrate veggies and use freezer space for meat... Thanks Danno
I've tried that and won't do it again. The taste was horrible
I was thinking about doing the same thing. My dehydrator is calling me!!
@@friedenhiker1032 Never had any issues. I dehydrate the big bags frozen hash browns too
I’ve never done this, just recently got a dehydrator, I’m going to try it. And especially with the hash browns!
I love options and redundancy. I have been meaning to do up batches of frozen veg just to free up freezer space. I like the dehydrated veg for use in soups and such. Great way to stack some veg. Thanks for reminder. 👍
Keep the videos coming Danno….we appreciate you and all that you do!
..And remember, the adventure is out there! ..Thanks Jessica and Danno! Be Blessed! ❤❤
We used to swear by Libby's pumpkin. Now we only use the Great Value pumpkin because it tastes better to us.
😃👍
Thanks! I recognize and appreciate the time you take to do these videos.👍
Very welcome!
Great Value pasta is made by Barilla..
Keep Praying, Planning, and Prepping like crazi
Totally agree on the bandaids. They are the best I’ve found. I’m a teacher and I keep them in my classroom. Kids always come back and ask for another because they’re so good. They say they’re way better than the name brand ones the school nurse gives them. 🤷🏻♀️
Happy Sunday! Happy Labor Day weekend to you & Jess!!!
You too
I agree with this list. We were surprised at how good Great Value is at those lower prices.
I love Great Value vegetables and fruits. The cheese is good.
Please do more videos like this. Much appreciated.
Thank you for sharing with us items that are great quality and value. 😊
The only canned vegetable at Aldi‘s that is $.65 now is peas corn and green beans have went to $.75. At my Walmart they are still $.64 for the great value brand. Things are really going up in price.!! Especially since this is the time of year when they mark down the canned food because it is harvest time. I remember getting Del Monte canned vegetables three for a dollar for four dollars a case not that long ago.
I saw green peas at Aldi yesterday for $1.56. I had to cruise the isle again to verify!
64 cents to 75 cents? Are you serious? Sounds impossibly affordable.
By the time they get our Aldi built, no one will be able to afford to shop there. They still haven't decided what they are going to do with the Winn Dixie store.
Loved this top 10 video Danno! Good to know about the bandages and spaghetti. I haven't bought them before and will get some with my Walmart order this week. I bought the Great Value stuffing and was surprised how good it was. It was 88 cents, versus 3 bucks for Stove Top. For the ladies out there, Great Value feminine hygiene products are also very good and much cheaper than the name brand.
Totally agree. I actually prefer the GV panty liners
Hi Danno and Jess! I was truly shocked to see the over the counter meds at your Walmart displayed totally out in tne open! All four of my local Walmarts have them all locked up!
Yes I noticed that too. Where I live those items are locked up.
The only thing in my store that is locked up are fake nails, fake eyelashes, the day after pills, perfumes and some shaving razors. Some electronics. Go figure.
Julia Pacheco here on YT just put out a video today on 7 meals for under $20 shopping trip at Walmart. Lots of great ways to stretch a dollar for cooking on her channel.
I LOVE great value frozen vegetables. I always put those in my homemade chicken pot pies 🥧 😋
Great job Danno 👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I love the Great Value frozen veggies. They make the best stir fry! Other brands turn to mush very quickly for me, lol. GV veggies are sturdier. And for diabetics who use the preloaded insulin pens Walmart makes needles. They're called ReliOn and they're behind the pharmacy counter. I believe they come in 4mm, 6mm, and 8mm. They are $9 for 50! We were using 4mm BD Nano needles at $60 for 100. That's an insane price difference, especially if supplies are an out of pocket cost.
The items on your list i will agree with.
Peanut butter really only needs to have two things: peanuts and salt. What it doesn't need is the three different kinds of sugar that the Great Value brand adds in the form of regular old sugar, dextrose, and molasses. Additionally, this peanut butter contains hydrogenated cottonseed, rapeseed, and soybean oils.
I have dehydrated a lot of the GV frozen mixed vegetables, in fact,I did a two lb bag yesterday. I think in bouillon or broth with a can of meat, pasta or rice, makes a great, fast, and an easy, healthy emergency meal.
GV Cheese is good. Walmart is one of the few brands that has non-smoke flavored provolone.
Great Value is also the only one I can find WHOLE WHEAT CRACKERS. They do not have a strong flavor and they hold up without breaking as fast as the originals.
GV Pasta is good, the GV canned vegetables are good. (Meijers' are awful)
Let me add that EQUATE bladder leakage and feminine panty liners and pads are very good and great buys; far below name bands and just as good if not better, (trust me.)
My dehydrator didn't dry mixed vegetables correctly. The peas were done and hard but the carrot and green beans still had moisture. I had to buy and dehydrate separately then combine them to get a mixed batch. Will it hurt the peas if I run a mixed batch until its all dry?
@@patches1483 Not really. If you can adjust your temperature, though, I would cut it down and just leave it going longer.
Thanks for the informative video. 🙂
Thanks for the advice. You do a really good job. Is it time for another Jess and Danno insta pot dinner? I say that because I’m just learning how to use one. Lol. Love and Hugs. ❤❤❤
I am finally going to break mine open! It's been here a year. My rice maker died last week.
😉👍
Thanks Danno! I think that I will get some GV Frozen peas to dehydrate. Creamed peas sounds like a tasty meal and easy to make with a little flour or cornstarch and if you throw in a can of tuna, a meal😊
Danno grocery prices in my area Walmart: GV milk $2.56, GV potato chips $3.18, GV white bread $1.49, GV pizza rolls 40 count $3.22, Reese's peanut butter cups 12 count $2.42 bugles $3.98, GV saltines $1.67. Steve from West Virginia prices from Walmart in Clarksburg WV.
If you dehydrate those mix veggies would be an awesome thing to have.
Thanks! Great video. ❤
I buy the Great Value frozen blueberries--the berries are huge (I bake a lot of muffins). You're right. The quality is excellent. I honestly don't think you can beat Walmart plus. I say this as I'm sitting here waiting on another home delivery from them. I'm chatting with my shopper on the phone while I'm watching your video on my computer. Thanks for doing this Walmart video! Also, 2 other items I buy constantly are the whole pork loin ($8.64) which I slice into boneless pork chops or cube for city chicken, and the frozen chicken breasts or tenderloins ($10.34 for 3 pound bag is a slight increase from $9.98) . These are 2 excellent products. Walmart vowed to keep all of its Great Value pasta products under $1.00 for as long as possible. I think that's very empathetic of them to understand that most people are shopping on a budget,
Wow, city chicken? Haven't heard that one in years! Probably the 1970s! How do I make it?
Thanks. Have a great weekend
Great information thank you
Goos morning! I hope you and Jess made it safely to Florida. This was a great video. Have a great holiday! Love and blessings.💕
This was a great video. I live 2 miles from Walmart, Aldi & Meijer so I appreciate u sorting out the best buys. Thanks. 👏👏
Not proud to admit this but the corn chips., tortilla chips and popcorn is really good, along with this jarred queso blanco dip.
Enjoyed! Love to hear customers reviews!
Just a tip. I'm 73, all my clothes are from friends, garage sales, or thrift shops. Family gives me gift cards. I notice people buying alcohol, junk food, pop,
cigarettes and other things they don't need. Tina, Al's wife
Great video! I totally agree with you on these items. A lot of equate and great value brands are just as good!
Happy Sunday, Happy Labor Day
Weekend to you& Jess!
Thank you!!
Great value veggies are packaged by Green Giant.
Hello Danno and Jess txs for showing us all the best deals at Walmart
If you don't have the freezer space.. you can also home can frozen veggies
Definitely have to make a band aide run to Walmart. Great deals!
That was a great way to do this video , super fast way to get shopping info. Thanks Danno.
You're very welcome!
Danno, Sam's club prices 4.28 members mark 40 pack, Vienna sausage 18 count $12.32, Kraft Mac and cheese cups 12 count 6.29, carnation creamer 56oz $7.98 Kroger's DiGiorno pizza $4.99 each prices from Kroger's and sam's club in Clarksburg WV area.. Steve from West Virginia.
If you want to get into the food preservation game, a food dehydrator is probably one of the over all, cheapest way, requires few additional supplies, and has one of the least amount storage requirements. Frozen veggies have become very popular to freeze dry because they are so easy to do: thaw in a strainer so that as much liquid drops off, put single layer on the foid dehydrator trays, load the trays into the dehydrator, and turn it on until dry.
In general, most veggies mudt be blanched before being dehydrated. Frozen veggies have been blanched. Tye puree used to make fruit leathers need to go on a silicone mat (often a separately sold add-on) although through the yesrs there have beennsome workarounds. Many people dehydrate onions and other odiferious items outside 'casue they stink up the house. Certainly in the 1970's and 1980's there were jerky recipies for the dehydrator too; they like all jerky's are salt laden.
If youre looking for a new dehydrator, try to be able to afford one with a temperature control. This makes creating your own dried spices and herbs much easier and more possible. Even if you don't have a row of parsley out in the back yard garden, fresh parsely comes on suoer sale in the grocery store every so often; frequently spring and Thanksgiving. Investing in parsely and dehydrating it for use during thenyear can be upto a significant savings over buying it in the spice bottles at the grocery store. In many parts of the country, there are places you can afford to buy other fresh herbs (especially in a dehydrator's worth of quantity all at once) and dehydrating them yourself remains cheaper than buying them already dried from the spice rack.
I get the great value spaghetti packs in the 4pack box it’s great stuff recently got organic pasta sauce 2 dollars a jar
That was a really good video!
Thanks Dano.
Hey 👋 Danno and Jess❤❤❤
👋😃
Good morning Dan and Jess! Thank you for the Walmart stop. We have one of those around these parts, hahaha! Nice reminder on picking up pasta. Have a great holiday weekend you two! Peace
Thank you. You too!
Thanks for the info
Thank you Danno ✝️❤️,I agree 👍💯
You're very welcome
I’m currently taking the Equate brand Mucinex and I like it. Much cheaper!
I've found out the same thing with the few things I tried.
😉👍
Equate instead of Mucinex😊👍😊. The best…KCMary..
If you read the labels, you will see that most ingredients are the exact same as the name brand. Sometimes they are less but I think that is due to patent issues.
These are all shelf or freezer stable items. Time to stock up! Thanks for this great video .
You are so welcome!
Hi, great value butter comes in on the Cabot truck. Great value milk is Oakhurst brand, I believe if Oakhurst is out of their market share it is your leading brand?! Wal-Mart is supposed to be equal or better quality! This was Mr. Sam's belief! Something today at Wal-Mart fall short of! The Walton Family no - longer have controlling interest in Walmart. 47 - 48 percent is a good amount, but it seems to change the dynamics of the Company?! Even with a lot of the Waltons on the board of directors. Anyone interested control was lost 7 - 10 years ago, officially that is! So, thank-you danno for your much needed help!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
everyone better stock up on that $1.99 kroger butter thru tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That Frozen fruit is very good and sells out fast.
I LOVE their cheeses!
Nice format...please do more vids like these.
Good morning Danno and Jess 😇 Have a blessed day 😇 Love you guys 😇🥰😇
I only buy great value butter it's good I don't like their crackers or frozen mixed vegetables. But I do like the frozen broccoli and corn on the cob.
I buy great value frozen fruit and vegetables all the time. Thank you for sharing Danno have a blessed day stay safe and healthy. yummy ❤❤❤
Love the GV cheeses and the frozen fruits. Good picks, for sure. Didn't know about the saltines because my wife always insists on the Nabisco, but I may sneak some in to see what she says. I really like the GV French Roast Keurig style and I used to drink the Columbian canned one. A lot of value in today's advice. Way to go, Danno!!!
Thank you Danno for these items . I will be looking for these. Their can goods for vegetables sell quickly. Can Ham is good too . I need more of this too and vitamins .
Agree, Great Value cheese is good. Happy Harvest not so much. Kroger cheese reduced their slices from 8 to 6 in a pkg. Also Little Debbie Swiss miss chocolate rolls put in a "Big" box, but the same amount. Watch carefully 😮
I hadn't noticed that, but I guess that's what they count on.
Great video
I have to admit the Great Value items I have found are better than the national brand. There have been only found one item I did not care for out of over 20 items. Thank you for bringing to this to front for us.
Great video!
God bless... ✝
Thanks for the tour. I am going to wally world tomorrow. It's summer clearance there also so a good time to get t-shirts, shorts and drummer shoes cheap. Also pool shock goes on clearance for any one interested in having a water sanitation method in an emergency. I use pool shock instead of bleach in my laundry and homemade cleaning solutions so I don't have to lug those bleach bottles home and its cheaper.
You are right, I buy everyone of them all the time
I use all of these great value items. ❤keep stalking that pantry.
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Morning Danno and thanks for your video ! I agree with your choices and the value most times in the larger sizes really does save money when we can afford it and if it’s a frozen item if we have the freezer space ! And many don’t realize cheese, milk , butter and heavy whipping cream ( I’m not sure about milk , but I think it can be ) can be frozen as can saltines, cookies, and breads ! God bless ❤️🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈
Good morning! Absolutely. We freeze all those but milk.
And cereal
I gotta admit….great value cheese (medium cheese brick) is by far the best…..😃
I haven't been in a walmart since the pandemic, but I order from them online a couple of times a month. I don't eat the canned veggies directly (not a diss, I just prefer fresh or the steamable bags), but I use them for food storage and as part of a recipe, such as soups. As a single person, it's too easy for food to spoil on me, no matter how careful I am. So things like canned mixed veg or carrots come in handy, and they're inexpensive.
Castlebury hot dog sauce...
great value cut aparagus and great value bandages are my go to items for stocking up! mix aparagus with buttered ride and you have a good side-dish or meal. and the great value bandages, i buy in all sizes.
buttered rice
Hillshire Brand has recalled some of its smoked sausages in California, Maryland, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Have been contaminated with bone fragments 🤢.
Totally going to try the Band-Aids. I couldn't understand why they were so expensive- the other brand.
Danno. 😊🙏🕯️👍🕯️🙏😊….this is THE BEST VIDEO ever….KCMary…
Thanks!
@@AdventureswithDanno….this was a wonderful, helpful video that highlighted what to shop for….you cut to the chase…this is one video I will refer back and back to when ordering Walmart foods….thanks. ….KCMary…
Cat litter was very low in my area of Illinois
Good morning have a great day.
Good morning
I like Picksweet, because they don't add things like salt. I normally won't buy GV saltiness, because they break too easily. Great video. Ty.
I love Picksweet!
I agree about the saltines, they taste ok, but are crumbly.
The pumpkin spice great value cookie mix is really a great value 2$ soft cookies for 2'$ good quality makes 15 cookies
A while back one of the stores next to me put their pasta on sale. It was like 50% off at that time it was pre covid so the price was like 79 cents regularly. I bought $35 worth to put back. Pretty much wiped them out
We like their low salt chips. We don’t like their sliced Swiss cheese though.
My “buy” price for butter is $1.99/lb, so I haven’t bought butter at Walmart for a long time now. I buy the maximum I can whenever I can get it for $1.99 - just got 5 lbs from Kroger today for the freezer.
Walmarts big bags of Carmel, nut trail mix is such a good buy for $6
Are the great value frozen veggies gmo free? Thanks Danno, appreciate all you do for us 😊
The German chocolate great value is fantastic only 1 dollar.
I always use Walmart great value brand peas and carrots frozen mix for my homemade chicken pot pie!!!!!!!
I agree the Peanut Butter is ok for the price. Is it on the same level as Skippy/Jiff not really but very close. But you save 25% so to put it back it's worth it.
The 2 pack of butter is even cheaper. And I remember pre pandemic the saltines were .88 a 4 pack.
I don’t care about the great value can vegetables that much or the peanut butter their ok but they do have really good chips garlic bread & yogurt
Equate brand Claritin, Prilosec and Flonase are great. Much better than other store brands. My go to.
We take real Sudafed for our allergies and always bought from Walmart for $6. It jumped up past $9 last week. That’s quite a hike! I was just shocked. Still cheaper than most places, but now only by 2 dollars. Also Kroger has omeprazole $1 less than Walmart for a long time now. Yet, overall Walmart is the best option overall still
"WIDE AWAKE" COFFEE IS A AWESOME COFFEE TO TRY
ITS A SEATTLE BRAND COFFEE
😃👍☕️
Great Value peanut butter is my #1 favorite, I love it more than Jif, Skippy, or Peter Pan!
