I like the fact that you are willing to acknowledge a young fan, as well as, take some time to give him a little safety training. That is a class act, brother.
Just last week I installed a new piston from LilRedBarn in my dads Shindaiwa 695 The cylinder was scored as a result of a crack in the fuel line; sanded the cylinde and used some muriatic acid (couldn't find a replacement cylinder). Ran it for a couple hours and it is running like a champ. This is my favorite saw to Run. Would pick up a 680 or 695 any chance I got. They are very rare in Alaska my dads 695 is the only one I have seen. Most people run Stihl in my home town as this is the only dealer.
I always thought noodling was a waste of time and energy. Then one day I realized my strong back wasn't going to last forever. Now I split a lot of wood by noodling. Nice Video Boedy.
Bodey that very nice of you to make a video for a younger fans also! They will never forget it. Thats how i got started when i was young threw woodmen and fellers and Of all kinds that take the time out of there day for those want to learn that what this is all about even in the professional world they still stop and talk to teach and share. Keep it alive. Thank you
It's awesome how you included the younger kids interested in this type of thing. That's great of you man! I think that saw performed pretty damn well for what it is. A lot of saws from that era weren't much better stock. If you do port it, I think doing it in steps like muff mod ect, would be awesome!
Ripping is NOT the same as noodling!!! It’s a TOTALLY different process.!you can only noodle as long as the particular bar is. Milling is NOT dependent on bar length as long as the bar is long enough for your own boards that you are milling + a few inches for the clamps and over diameter log.
Calm...calm... The sun's gettin' real low, big guy...calm down... settle... Okay, now... I can call it ripping. You can call it whatever you want. Ripping is when you cut lengthwise. You are seeing a difference in bar to grain orientation. Alright. I understand. I just ripped those rounds into quarter rounds. And that is alright. If you wanna call it slapping ass, and I call it smacking ass...does it really matter?

Ya but that shin is still running I doubt that 562 will still be running in 30 years.
Great video and great saws
Awesome!
Boedy you need a pulp hook. I saw buckin' use one and I made my own years ago and I take that thing to bed
Look forward to see what you do with it. Curious to see what the condition of the internal parts are in. As well as the specifics, like the squish.
You forgot your chaps! You never know when a chain is going to go astray on you Boedy! Nice video though!
