Cowboy Bebop: Hurt

- This can be described as my "Emo" video. At first I started this one just for fun, to see if I could actually make something serious. I'll leave that up to you guys. Don't watch this more than twice. You might become manically depressed or something and I can't afford your medication!
"Spike... what did you do..?"
"Jet, the world's not the same any more. The Bebop... it's gone..."
Jet: "what about Ed and Faye?"
Spike: "someone will come along..."
Jet: "someone has come along."
Spike... you still have time.
Wonderfull vidéo man so sad it can't be shared
...I have had... An epiphany....
...Cowboy Bebop is Johnny Cash in space....
Just far darker
See you space cowboy...
Johnny Cash and Cowboy Bebop?! two of my favorite things together?!
My life is complete. 5/5
10 years later and i can relate heavily
You're going to carry that weight.
pancho3495 Everyone is carrying the weight.
And when you've carried that weight all your life, you'll have a kind of strength you can't really describe. Ain't no grave gonna hold your body down.
Awesome video. Almost ten years later.
Wow... I've stumbled upon this very late, but it wasn't too late. Glad I got to see this AMV, the scenes and the pace of your editing fits so well with the lyrics, absolutely marvellously made! Great job!
Same here. Periott needs to be in more AMVs
No, my eyes are always this watery and I'm shaking because its cold. (This Amv was one of the most epic tributes to cowboy bebop that I have ever seen.
Cowboy Bebop and the Great Johnny Cash. Absolut brilliant
The feels hit me so hard
When I first saw the title, I thought of the NIN version immediately, and then realized the Johnny Cash cover would clearly fit it better. Great job!
I think you're one of the few people who thinks of the NIN version first. xD
Just barely saw this for the first time over 10 years after originally posted. This is beautiful and powerful. Perfection, man.
emo is a word used by people who've never experienced great loss in their lives against people who are depressed and are social hermits, an actual emo dyes his hair cause it's cool and acts depressed cause they thinks it makes them look cool... tired of everyone wanting social recognition and acceptance... life should be more about experiences than appearences, if anyone has seen enuff to sing about regret its Johnny Cash, it's not emo, it's real life.
Joshua Swanson The people that piss me off the most are those who think it's cool to pretend to be depressed and to mutilate their arms for attention. They think it's just a little bit of attention. No harm done. Except when people with legitimate illnesses, like depression and anxiety, get mixed in with all the little punk-ass emo kids, and everybody thinks that they're all just doing it for attention. But they're not. They just want someone to talk to or support them. They don't choose to be lonely. They are because of their personality and their disorders. They don't seek attention by mutilating their body parts. They don't seek attention at all, really. We just hide our feelings, knowing we'll just get written off as little emo punks, which is why people with actual psychological problems are hurt by attention seeking emo kids.
Top, people have different ways of coping with pain or loss. For me and some others with clinical depression it's just a way for us to stop feeling things. It numbs us. And in my opinion, it's better than doing drugs like heroine.
It's actually kinda sad, y'know? Emo, as a word, would probably have been an abbreviation of "Emotional". So, "Emo" would've just been a catch-all term for the people who dyed their hair, who scarred their bodies, who turned to vice and addiction, to deal with their emotions when they couldn't on their own.
But then, because people are stupid, Emo culture became a "scene" at some point. It became the new cool thing, a goddamn trend. Now everybody and their mother reaches into the Emo scene, not because they have actual problems they can't cope with, but because it makes them feel valid and theoretically better about themselves, or because they want to give someone an excuse to make them get their shit together, while people who've grown up enough to make fun of those people call them "edgy".
Meanwhile, people who would've deserved to be called Emo before it became a scene just stay low, quiet, and out of sight, because the good-old-fashioned unhealthy coping mechanisms that might've helped them (in the short term, at least) are too commonplace now, too loud and flashy, and they just don't know what to do with themselves.
I suppose it's ironic, too. Outcast culture became popular, and the people who originally belonged to it are now double outcasts. What a fuckin' world.
respect emo
You did an excellent job capturing the sad side of "Cowboy Bebop".
Beautiful, and goes greatly with the song (tear runs down face)
Nice. Sometimes I need a song like this when im in that mood. The Man in Black is the perfect voice for Cowboy Bebop and Spike. :)
Love the video, even though its been up for 5 years, lol. Hurt by Johnny Cash is in my opinion is his best song he did, probably because it was when he was close to the end himself and Cowboy Bebop is one of the better animes set in the future of the earth. Great video and no not emo feeling, it does carry emotion though.
Know much about purgatory? It's the place between heaven and hell, where those who were left behind, unable to get into heaven continue to suffer, a place of struggle and pain. In other words, the world that we're in now.
This fits cowboy bebop so well
this song goes incrediblly well with Spike in general.. bravo
Grande YT recomendarme esto despues de 13 años Simplemente genial
Bang...
this is Amazing! the song is great and cowboy bebop is my favorite show
This was among the first amv's I've seen. Still OP!
why do i cry every time i watch this
Poor Spike , got hurt . But went out with a bang . See You Space Cowboy
I have to rewatch the entire Show now :)
I think the only word I can find to describe this is perfect
the movie is set after the end of the series which means spike lives after all
Damn...here on Oct 2021
2024🙃
J. Cash could be the cowboy bebop composer, but I still like Yoko kanno
Imagine this: "Bang", and then Ain't No Grave playing over the final credit sequence.
Amazing.
been years since ive seen this video
RIP Spike And God speed
this is a great song and i have liked it for a long time the vid is well put together and it matches well
gave me chills
woah......man. this is amazing. i almost cried
Emo video, who calls Johnny Cash emo?
+Aadarm well he's singing about how he hurt himself with a needle so..
Jibreel Rahman It's a nine inch nails song about how Trent Reznor fucked himself up with drugs. Johnny Cash looked at it, laughed at the idea that this twenty something knew jack about shit, and covered it as only "Alcoholism: The Cowboy" could, with fifty years of losing near everything under his belt. Even Trent let this one go, he knows when he's outclassed.
I mean, I have no doubt Reznor tried. He probably gave it all he had, honestly.
The Man in Black just had more to give.
sounds like butterfly and pretty little ditty
this is amazing
Beautiful.
Perfecto
HOPE MY LAST BREATH IS A BITTER SWEET SYMPHONY..................
man, johnny cash cant be in the same place that the word "emo"
Nice
2020. Carrying that weight...
Spike would be proud of you.
He would probably tell you he hates emos almost as much as he hates cats, but he would be proud of you still.
That would be funny, considering he's the biggest emo of all.
Good job, Sir !
I totally agree with you.
loveee it 5/5 so epic...
What evidence suggests that Spike lived after the last episode of the series?
Love it!
greatvideo great song 2
Are we talking about Spike or Spike's American voice actor?
good combination, music/video.
it is perfect!
u have my subscrive, and 5*
Very nice, man! 5/5 :D
You're gonna carry that weight...
No, it's set between Ep. 22 and 23.
Isso é algo lindo, só de ver tudo fico triste de ver o fim.
My best friend died today and this is my sad song

Split second image at around 1:15
@joegt123 yup
☯️ 0:04
eh you know what fuck it it doesnt matter toonami is dead now
Emo
J. Cash is not "EMO", bro.
+Matt M. ikr
+Matt M. This is kinda Blue'ey in my opinion..
I agree with you man. he isn't emo he is a Life story
The difference is that Emos whine and don't do anything about it. Cash isn't emo, he's real
It's pretty emo
Spike didn't want to live without Julia. The Bebop crew became his friends and he cared about them, but he could never be whole without her.
I can relate to that after I lost the woman I loved I was never the same lost a part of myself
I just came across this. After seeing the Bebop AMV with Cash's "Personal Jesus" I realized that Cash and Bebop go together very well. A powerful musical summation of Spike Spiegel and the entiire Bebop storyline. Because despite the pain and sadness, I believe all of the Bebop crew would "keep themselves."
i watched the anime and the movie, but i was heartbroken after the movie... still am when remembering. See you space cowboy......
Spike: Years ago, back when I was much younger, I was afraid of nothing. I had not the slightest fear of death. I was ready to die anytime. But then I met a special woman. She made me want to go on living. For the first time, I was afraid of death. A feeling I’d never had before.
the character lived past the last episode but the guy who played him acts in hundreds of parts
this being my favorite song and having some bipolar issues trust me this isnt depressing it reality we all die we all hurt so have you got regrets?
This is so wonderful to come back to watch every once in a while.
sad...
see you in space cowby ;-;
Lucas Zenun you’re going to carry that weight
This video is my new religion.
I'll do it up someday soon ;)
Christ that was good.
Feels...
