I honestly think that each new entry in Pusher trilogy was better than the previous, meaning that the third one is absolute best. Its a miracle how Refn achieved it, especially with changing protagonists each time. I didnt even like Milo is first two, but he was phenomenal in 3rd.
I love the rawness and documentary style of the first one, but each one is great. The third one being by far the grossest, but the movie actually manages to make the bad guy of part one a compelling main character in part three.
I love the Pusher Trilogy so much, each film is incredible in its' own way. Every once in a while I take an evening and binge all three. But the third just hits different, and I mean that in the best way possible. It takes Milo, a man that the last two films have built up to be genuinely terrifying, and somehow humanizes him. Definitely one of the best crime films of all time. The moment I saw the thumbnail, I clicked.
Love the Pusher films! Each presents you with a detestable main character that you somehow wind up rooting for by the end. That is some great storytelling.
So glad you made this! Finally watched Pusher 3 last month. I wish Zlatko Burić were in more movies. I found him to be such a distinct character in the way that he looks, talks, and carries himself physically. Also, +1 for 'Brawl in Cell Block 99'... some of the most gritty violence I've seen haha
Somebody acknowledging these films is great. I was suprised to to see this.👍👏 Thank you sir. Very unnerving films. Its a shame that not many people have seen this trilogy.
I'm so glad that You made a video about my favourite installment of the Pusher trilogy. Maybe this will encourage others to check out more non-Drive from NWR (such as Bleeder or his criminally underrated magnum opus - Too Old To Die Young).
I watched this trilogy because you fueled me with the first portion of this video, the intro more or less. I've watched pretty much every NWR's film and tv-show, except the Pusher trilogy and another early film, Bleeder or something like that. Pusher is really something special.
Irreversible is pretty much The Movie for the title. It opens up itself so well while being fast paced, super tragic, there is one key scene for the story that is A Lot for many viewers. It just is... a really good, beautifully done and acted movie. It takes you into this dark emotional journey. They even put like a low frequenzy sound that humans cannot really hear, but it causes anxiety, it's thru the whole movie 😅
I watched the third Pusher film for the first time a few weeks ago. The way it continually builds up tension without any relief is masterful. This film is designed to make you stress and feel frustrated. I need more like it haha
Joe Wright is another director who uses hands to portray emotion. He does this rather pointedly in both Pride and Prejudice and in Atonement, both period pieces where the feelings need to be communicated strongly - passion, desire, longing - but cannot be demonstrated outright
Used to be one of the most interesting directors. But his series works didn't bother me that much. I want to see a new feature length movie asap. It's almost a decade now. You go Nicolas!
Just watched the Pusher trilogy, and it was badass! It was so organic to the feel of the streets and the constant ongoing issues that come with being a criminal. But i decided to watch these because Only God forgives, Bronson, and Drive were all great movies also by Refn. So i decided ti give this trilogy a shot and i was not disappointed. And as to the hand shots, and meaning Only God Forgives that technique was definitely crucial.
I think Denis Villeneuve is very good at focusing on hands too. Like you say I think it humanizes the character and brings the audience closer. Really interesting video.
I keep trying to watch the movies mentioned on this channel but I dont think I've watched a single one. I wish I had an attention span that is longer than 10 minutes.
I’d love a movie review on dream scenario starring nicholas cage. It was a pretty decent film except for the ending, the idea was pretty original and could’ve had a better execution. But i’d love to hear your take on the film.
forgot how good this film was. Have you seen the film "Ex Drummer"? It's sometimes compared to "Trainspotting" but I'd say it's a way darker version of it and more inspired by Irvine Welsh's books than that film per se
I watched first part when I was 21, dealing drugs and in debt to the guys from who I bought drugs. Few days later I've done a side deal to get the money for debt. They found out and kicked my ass, stabbed me and said now you owe 5 times more. I attempted a robery, just like Franke does, but I failed, but wasn't caught. I was in ahock how everything played like in the movie with Franke. It wasn't that I saw the movie and then said I'm gonna do it like this guy(Franke) I wasn't that dumb, but I planned robery and side deal days before seeing the film. This movie had a big impact on me at that time, especially bcs I to am a Serb, just like Milo. Trilogy ia great, tho
I haven't seen these films, but had lived in Denmark for about 7 years, and I am always a little shocked when I see Danish actors where I'm not really looking for them. These kinds of films, this may be part of the "dogma" films, are always so bleak. The other thing I've noticed in they tend to use extremely grainy film. I think I find it slightly disturbing because Copenhagen is beautiful and inviting. It doesn't feel menacing, or run down. I'm not saying there aren't parts like that, but I see glimpses of places in this video I know pretty well, that I associate with fairly warm feelings, then seeing it in such a harsh light is jarring. If you want a bit of a laugh from the actor playing Milo, look for his beer commercials. "Inge kiinke klanke." Or something like that. :)
Pusher trilogy is THE GREATEST film trilogy ever made and I'm willing to fight about it. Never have I seen such a realistic depiction of (Scandinavian) criminal underworld. 10/10
who said if there is no conflict there is no story. This is wrong and only hollywood thing. Checkout asian way of storytelling without conflict which is much better than hollywood.
If there is one, what's a film that YOU felt was unbearably intense?!
Possession, that movie fucked me up in the best way possible
Uncut Gems
Uncut Gems. We now have to measure tension in units of Uncut Gems in this household.
„Victoria“ (2015) is wonderfully intense.
Possession, and as of recently the monkey scene in Nope and that long creepy scene in the first Omen 🙃
You make very good content, one of my favourite channels on yt
The Pusher trilogy is one of the most underrated ever. It makes me sick every time I watch it, and I love it.
Refn's Pusher trilogy is fantastic. Great to see a dive into the third installment.
I honestly think that each new entry in Pusher trilogy was better than the previous, meaning that the third one is absolute best. Its a miracle how Refn achieved it, especially with changing protagonists each time. I didnt even like Milo is first two, but he was phenomenal in 3rd.
The second was the best, but the fact that he managed to make it interesting every time was impressive.
I love the rawness and documentary style of the first one, but each one is great. The third one being by far the grossest, but the movie actually manages to make the bad guy of part one a compelling main character in part three.

Nice to see this movie get some love. It really is the best of the trilogy, which itself is the best of Refn's work.
So glad you made this! Finally watched Pusher 3 last month. I wish Zlatko Burić were in more movies. I found him to be such a distinct character in the way that he looks, talks, and carries himself physically.

Did you watch Triangle of Sadness?
I absolutely adore this trilogy. I was expecting a standard crime/dealer flick with maybe some existentialism but they left me speechless.
Somebody acknowledging these films is great. I was suprised to to see this.👍👏 Thank you sir. Very unnerving films. Its a shame that not many people have seen this trilogy.

Too old to die young is an unknown masterpiece, from cinematography to music.
the Pusher trilogy is so underrated
Hey Spiki, glad ro have you back!
You always have interesting things to say, whatever is the subject matter.
Happy to support you ❤
Thanks for this. For filmmakers like me your content is gold!
I watched this trilogy because you fueled me with the first portion of this video, the intro more or less. I've watched pretty much every NWR's film and tv-show, except the Pusher trilogy and another early film, Bleeder or something like that. Pusher is really something special.
Just binged all Three thanks to YOU and tubi hehe. Much appreciated. Fantastic films
Nicolas Winding Refn (the director) drew heavy inspiration from his own encounters in the criminal underworld while making this film.
I already know this is gonna be good
Need to rewatch Pusher
pusher 3 is a personal favorite
and so this was a wonderful watch
This is a really interesting analysis, thank you! I haven't seen many Refn films but now I'm really lookong forward to giving them a try

Pusher II was awesome as well.
Mads is an incredibly good actor.
best movie essay channel right now

The first time I saw pusher 1 it got so tense I had to turn it off. Came back the next day and things resolved a moment later. Brilliant.

3:42 Nick Rochefort
The Safdie Brothers took this concept and pushed it to its Limit!
Used to be one of the most interesting directors. But his series works didn't bother me that much. I want to see a new feature length movie asap. It's almost a decade now. You go Nicolas!
IDK how you managed to connect the Pusher series with Harold & Kumar but I'm all for it.
my favorite channel
Would love to listen you talking about Tarkovsky's Filmography! I love your work and I appreciate films better with your help!❣
Reminds me of Uncut Gem, it was so intense.

Perfect Days had no tension whatsoever and it was incredible
Basically what NWR was trying to say in the Pusher trilogy is that Copenhagen fucking sucks.
I think Denis Villeneuve is very good at focusing on hands too. Like you say I think it humanizes the character and brings the audience closer.
Really interesting video.
Wonderfull work, please keep it up
Building tension requires the right amount of buildup. In action sequences, one must first execute the means to properly act it all out in one frame.
Perfect
finally someone does Pusher!!!
i want to get my mubi subscription back simply because of how you explain all these movies!
Still anxiously waiting for Refns next project
Im here for Tonny. Love that poor boy x
I love the pusher movies so much.
I keep trying to watch the movies mentioned on this channel but I dont think I've watched a single one. I wish I had an attention span that is longer than 10 minutes.
Yes!! The pusher trilogy is so good!!!!
I love acting through body language
pusher 3 fucked me up like nobodys business. never seen such good tension build up..
I love this movie. The whole Pusher trilogy is great
This happened to me before. I handed money to the complainer and said that I donate to the poor. She didn't take it and she left.
Milo ❤ He was also good in "Triangle of Sadness."
I’d love a movie review on dream scenario starring nicholas cage. It was a pretty decent film except for the ending, the idea was pretty original and could’ve had a better execution. But i’d love to hear your take on the film.
I love your content bro im going to a festival with my new "film" apply with all your educative videos, they gonna hate it 🗣️🗣️‼️
YES
I just finished Pusher trilogy. Watched 3 of them back to back. Fucking awesome.
Most intense I've seen? Boiling Point.
I watched the first Pusher and I just couldn’t really devote to the other two. I might need to now, though…
forgot how good this film was.

can you do a summary of The Discovery (2017) please, directed by Charlie McDowell.
