No Boundaries 10.5/10.6 Forest River NOBO Camper Kitchen Flip

  • In today's video, I flipped the kitchen & installed a #Blackstone Griddle. You can absolutely do this for your #NOBO! I'm always trying to #camp with as little as possible & a Blackstone makes better use of the kitchen area in the NOBO slide. And just be aware; this change is heavy & you'll want to reinforce your slide for the long term. There are more projects on the way!

    Now thas a perfect mod. And super useful. I really like the new arrangement of the griddle and fridge!

      Thanks! It's been a huge improvement for camping. So far, my favorite part has been carrying less stuff. The Blackstone is so versatile, I don't need a bunch of pots/pans. It's great!

    Great addition! Now I'm trying to figure out how to make this switch in my T@G! Can't wait to camp with you and try out the Blackstone!

    • @OverNoobin
      @OverNoobin  2 года назад

      I’m sure we could figure out how to switch it out. I think the only issue with the T@G *might be* weight distribution. You’d have to look to make sure you aren’t making the back end of the camper too heavy.

      Excellent! I hope it helps. Just remember to look into reinforcing the slide leg. The slide is already kinda janky & the Blackstone will definitely be a lot of extra weight.

    Thank you!!! We just bought a NoBo 10.6 YESTERDAY 😂 (and we are Mojave Gladiator girls 😏) and I will definitely replace that cooktop with a Blackstone!!! What!?!? STOKED!

    I’m considering one of these to haul with my 4Runner. Definitely would be nice to have a generator to run the ac here in middle Tennessee

      Thanks! It’s been a HUGE IMPROVEMENT over the 2 burner cook top. And because I tow with a Jeep, I can carry less cooking items, keeping down on the weight/load. Clean up is easy, everything is easy now. I love it!

    Is this just the small one burner black stone? I’ve seen the two burners on and we were wanting to get the one burner but didn’t know if it would fit!

    • @OverNoobin
      @OverNoobin  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching! It's the 17" cooktop version. I really love it as a cooking option because I was able to reduce the entire kitchen kit I was toting around. I'm very happy with it. I know some people put the lid on; I never did because I didn't see the need. Additionally, I'm going to install a reinforced slide to handle the weight of the upgrades. I'm finding the leg support isn't really great for keeping the cooktop level. So that's something I plan to work on in the Fall 2023.
      Again, thanks for watching & please consider subscribing. I've got some fresh content coming that I'm really excited about! Many Jeep adventures on the way. :)

    This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! I have a pop up toy hauler that I am looking to downsize to the Nobo 10.6 - and I have always wondered...why can't I have a Blackstone instead of the burner setup? So much better for actually camping (I'm in MT). You have answered that.
    Questions - What do you mean about the self removal? And are your running LP to the Blackstone or just still using Coleman fuel?
    Thank you so much. Brian

    • @OverNoobin
      @OverNoobin  2 года назад +1

      I use the LP. There was a connector I picked up from Amazon that connects the Blackstone to the gas tank. The adapters are easy searched/found on Amazon if you look for Blackstone RV conversion.
      Not sure what you’re asking regarding self removal? These were self tapping screws from the factory, which makes it challenging to remove them. If you’re not familiar, self tapping have a spiky end to get thru metal & eliminates the need for nuts/washers. They’re a great tool, but not easily removed. I hope that answered your question.
      Thanks for watching & I hope it helps!

    • @OverNoobin
      @OverNoobin  2 года назад +1

      Apologies for the lateness of my reply. My camper has an LP hookup (which was used on the original burner cooktop), so I got an LP adapter for the Blackstone. The cooktop was just challenging for space to remove; not a lot of wiggle room in there. I hope you got yours installed!

    Did the black stone melt the buttons on the fridge?

    • @OverNoobin
      @OverNoobin  2 года назад +1

      No, not at all. I have spacers under the Blackstone to help keep air moving thru, also.

    • @OverNoobin
      @OverNoobin  Месяц назад

      @@jakewarren2817 while I had it, it was never an issue. I think the spacers help heat escape, but I also removed the lock box. I can’t remember now, but I feel like removing the lock box gave me some extra room to move things around.

    What Size is it?

    • @OverNoobin
      @OverNoobin  2 года назад +1

      The Blackstone is the 17” version. It’s a bit heavy for the slide leg, so we will have to reinforce it eventually. But it’s a fantastic upgrade because I was able to reduce the amount of gear I need.

    Do you have to ditch the lid on the Blackstone for this mod?

    • @OverNoobin
      @OverNoobin  2 года назад +1

      Mine didn’t come with a lid, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t fit with a lid. There’s a lot of space there, height-wise. I would just be careful about the weight on the slide. I want to reinforce the slide leg, for sure.
