@@dand3975 your right, big Robbie did have the knack to starting down pat alright. My 98 cr5 seems to be not bad too fire up but the 86 cr5 I own is a total nightmare . So much so that I'm currently rebuilding it with the chainsaw decompressor mod installed in the head. My right hip starts to ache just thinking about starting that old monster
I raced a 87 CR 500 back in the day I enjoyed hearing that girl fire up again brought back memories of running gator back in Gainesville Fl it is no longer a track
@@travisconover4762 i got a 88, thing was a rocket for a 125. Ive had a 96, and a 03 cr125. The 88 was the fastest on top end without a doubt. Still have the 88 but its ripped in pieces. Right case is shot. Crank bearings chewed up the case.
I was just curious what kind of pipe that is,it looks badass. I just bought the FMF Gnarly pipe and FMF turbine core 2 silencer for my “93 restoration project.
glee!
A very commendable effort with the custom look of this bike. To my eye the stock 87 CR500 is the best looking Honda ever made
I agree. That’s why I have one of each(;
Robbie Knievel made starting those CR 500's look so easy.

Houses of the Holy Smoke
Soooo damned true! 😂nice video too
Love the 87 CR's... Last blue seat of the 80's models and 1st year of the rear disc brake.. Beautiful Beast !
Thank you! The 80’s were the best years!
I had a 87 cr 125cc I loved that seat and the bike. I miss it. I ride 4 stroke crf 450 now. But would love another 80s good condition 2 sroke one day.

Beast!!!
Dude I love the integrated Radiator shrouds in the tank much cleaner look
Very nice 👌🏻
That's a ripper
What kind of rims are those? Or are they stickers? Great bike man. I love my CR500.
Thanks!! They are excel rims with some graphic wheel stickers from Senge graphics.
I want one so bad
What kind of tank is that
Am I tripping or are your front side skirt pannels intetegral to the fuel tank? Not seen that b4 that tank must be a mental shape
Lol. It’s a crazy tank for sure! Clarke 3.5 gallon. It replaces where the shrouds normally are bolted on.
@@dirtbikemaniac6296 thoutght so bet adds fuel storage and defo makes bike look cleaner to me
@@mealex303 I agree!
You got it looking like a KTM with that tank. You got to hit TDC to start it, needs full kick. The only question left…can you ride it ?
I was just curious what kind of pipe that is,it looks badass. I just bought the FMF Gnarly pipe and FMF turbine core 2 silencer for my “93 restoration project.
It’s a FMF Fatty paired with a FMF Powercore 2 silencer. I wrapped part of the pipe with heat wrap to keep it from melting the tank too.
@@dirtbikemaniac6296 That’s totally cool it sounds pretty beefy, I can’t wait to get mine done .👍
@@dirtbikemaniac6296 Where did you get that skid plate? I like it .
Is that the original tank? That's badass you can actually see how much fuel you have thats mental .
It’s a Clarke 3.5 gallon aftermarket tank. Way better than the original if you ask me!
@@dirtbikemaniac6296 I agree I'll have to buy one man for sure
New gas might help.
89 is the best year
For engine not frame 😉👍
Btw you can't kick a 5 hundred over .. plus try to take care of it 😔
Yeah I don’t care about my bikes at all. It runs on diesel too.
@@dirtbikemaniac6296 Your pretty cool bud!...
