To my dear wife (Gloria) who passed away on February 28, 2016- " I'll do my cryin' in the rain, raindrops falling from heaven could never wash away my misery." R.I.P. my wife, until we meet in heaven.
One of the most beautiful songs of all time. These guys harmonized like nobody ever has or ever will. I'm a gospel singer and what they do is not the kind of harmony I've ever sung, it's something totally unique. I've tried singing along and doing both parts and it's really hard because it's so subtle and both of them had such beautiful voices individually that you can't sing along with one and tune out the other. Phil Everly the younger brother recently passed on at the age of 74. Heaven has a new soloist in the their choir.
Awesome. simply Awesome. I have always liked the Everly Brothers and I am Black. Cathy's Clown and Til I kissed you did it for me. but for some reason since Phil passed I cant seem to stop playing this Song. Now its my favorite since the passing of Phil, poor Don he must feel Lost like Barry Gibb who lost all of his brothers. Its harder when you were a duo, and one dies. The Everly Brothers, The righteous Brothers who were not real brothers. but a great duo. Sony and Cher, but my favorite duo was the Everly Brothers. out of all of the duos they had the Best Harmony.
childhood memories... yes, i am only 14, but this is one of the many songs that are always played on our local radio station every sunday, maybe since i was only months old until today... memories, goodtimes....
the everly brothers are so damn good. they transcend time / generations. I'm a millennial and currently learning all the harmonies just so my husband and i can sing some cover songs. perfection.
Great Love Song since we got married on a rainy day 49 yrs ago. She passed away almost 2 yrs now and rainy days brings back memories. When i look at the rain coming down i feel like its her tears on my face, letting me know how we feel about each other.
I absolutely adored these guys. I'm still singing their songs after all these years. But this song? It holds a special place in my heart. Thank you, brothers for all the fine music you sang and put out for us.
This song was my uncles funeral song. Whenever I listen to this song it reminds me of all the good times and amazing moments spent with him and the family
I'm 23 yo right now and this song is not old but classic. Poetic and pleasing to the ear. And i also listen to modern sounds but it's a different appreciation for this kind of masterpiece
One of my favorites! I've loved the Everly Brothers since I was a really little kid. Didn't realize until I was a little older that they're from my home state. So proud of these guys from Central City, KY. Miss you, Phil.
If i wait for cloudy skies... You won't know the rain from the tears in my eyes. You'll never know that i still love you so, though the heartaches remain, I'll do my crying in the rain.
so beautiful it makes me cry like I am right now sitting here in my kitchen listening to songs about the rain which is what's it's doing outside right along with the thundering and lighting oh well still beautiful anyways be blessed every one and may God be with you all love brother Andrew wheeler 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.
I worked with my dad from the age of 13 up until he handed me the business when I was 20 ( roofing trade ) he’s 70 now and I am 27 he has dementia my fondest memories was working together and having him play all his 60s songs and rock and roll I now listen to them all on cd in my van from job to job and makes me smile and feel he is with me I miss that man so much it hurts. Even though he doesn’t know me anymore his love and caring ways will always be with me in my heart I love you so much dad “ I’ll never let you see the way my broken heart is hurtin me”
This beautifull song i dedicate to my parents and brothers who passed away and allso to my father in law who is fatally ill. This song is so true. I'll do my crying in the rain. I don't have any other option.
Such beautiful voices. This is by far my favourite song by them, I think mainly because I can kind of relate to the words. I often appear happy to people, when the truth is, I'm dying inside...
On this day in 1962 {February 18th} the Everly Brothers performed "Crying In The Rain" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'... About three weeks earlier on January 31st it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #6 and spent 13 weeks on the Top 100... It also reached #6 in the U.K., #7 in Australia, and #25 in Canada... At the time of this appearance on the 'Sullivan' show the brothers were on active duty with the U.S. Marines, having enlisted in November 1961
L loved the Everly Brothers. Phil you will be sorely missed. You were the best of rock and roll. We will miss you. You made my teenage years happy ones with your snappy tunes.
rip.... phil u guys were grt this song stands out so much for me, my older sister had a lot ov ur records, my heart just melted every time i heard this song still does
when I was 4 and 5 years old my parents had a old RCA Victor 45 RPM record player and about a hundred records this was one of those records. I'm 62 years old now I've been a lifelong musician and singer and I haven't heard this song since I was 4 and 5 years old but it was one of my favorites and still is! and one of my favorite singers Linda Ronstadt said she grew up listening to the Everly Brothers I'm thinking they were the best harmonizers and she said that too.!
...Gerry G. &Carole King. According to her, back in her tin pan alley days, they used to get requests to write songs for specific artists. This was the result of a request to write one for the Everly Brothers.
"Raindrops falling heaven Could never wash away my misery But since were not together I look for stormy weathers To hide these tears i hope you'll never see"
Great song it reminds me of all my good friends I hang out in the late sixties down in Clark Field Air Force Base in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines. I miss them all may God bless them all.
What a beautiful song. Always one of my favs.I used to listen to them 50 yrs ago on KMA (Earl May) and KNRF (Frank Field) (am) radio in Shenandoah, Iowa where they first started out selling garden seeds and performing on those tiny radio stages. Just the lung power to do their music is incredible, their parents pushed them very hard to succeed, and I guess they did. There will never be another E bros with the passing of Phil, but we have their great records. Thanks for posting.
My grandpa just died today (7/30/20) and the last movie i watched before he died was called Flipped. I rewatched it again just cause i missed him so much. I had rewatched the movie various times before he died. And this only time, i hear this song, his favorite song playing in the background.
Cheryl Chaisson their harmony is so heart felt heavenly soulful, heartfelt. These guys are blue eyed soul..and could really play! I am going to search their catalog and see if i can find another song very close to the way this one sounds. It is simply beautiful.
Mitchell Steven I've had a crush on them since I was a young kid.. It sucks I wasn't alive when I they first came out but their music is my go to jam everytime.
This was played at my buddys funeral in 2015. What makes it special to me is he played rhythm guitar way way back in 59 and the young lead guitarist he played with became great friends with the Everleys and has backed them on stage playing this .His name is Albert Lee.
I was in boot camp when Don and Phil had mess duty. Don flopped on the ball of mashed potatoes Phil ladled the gravy to make a bowl. They we bald and were Marines just like the rest of us. This was February 1962. Remember that they had already made Kathy"s Clown.

Lovely song (the only collaboration between Carole King and Howard Greenfield). The Everly Brothers' sang it so beautifully, and it's, sadly, so appropriate now. Thanks for all the great music, Don and Phil. And, Phil, we miss you already.

Yeah I know just what you mean, they blend and dance over each other.
Simon and Garfunkel credit the Everly brothers as their mentors of harmony.
John and Paul too I hear!
and Bee Gees
So, let's call them the ...
Everly-Original-Brothers!

Beautiful masterpiece written by Carole King
Great song from a great period for music, so different to today.
A song that will never fade!
I first heard this song as a teenager in early 90s...dint know it would come true in life later. But thank God life lets u close some sad chapters.
Another great song from a great, amazing pair.
Remember being about 7 singing my heart out to this song with my mum. Best memories ever!
Written by Gerry Goffen, he died the other day. His depth of lyrical heart is timeless. Thank you Gerry, and thank you Everly Brothers.
...Gerry G. &Carole King. According to her, back in her tin pan alley days, they used to get requests to write songs for specific artists. This was the result of a request to write one for the Everly Brothers.
Actually it was Carole King and Howard Greenfield who wrote this together. Carole King ususally worked with Goffin, just not on this
"Raindrops falling heaven
Could never wash away my misery
But since were not together
I look for stormy weathers
To hide these tears i hope you'll never see"
I have few tears left my love as I have cried for over 8 yrs since you died, Love you always Diane
Great song it reminds me of all my good friends I hang out in the late sixties down in Clark Field Air Force Base in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines. I miss them all may God bless them all.

Ein wunderschönes schönes Lied und der Text einfach genial geschrieben und gesungen von Phil und Don
What a beautiful song. Being in love brings this on at times as we have all felt heartache.
Listening to this song with headphones hits different
indeed
One of my elder sisters (now deceased) loved the Everly Bros...I can see why. I absolutely adore this song.
I learned how to sing harmony as a boy by listening to the Everly's. RIP, Phil
Absolute flawless harmony.
What a wondeful song ! Everly Bros. inspired the followers. Over all : The Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel. They were one of the best duo ever !
Love this song.....
The Beatles learned harmonics from listening to The Everly brothers
You mean harmonies?
What a coincidence. I learned harmonica from listening to The Beatles (jk)
who gives a rat's ass?? everything isn't about the beatles ferchrissakes
So did Simon and Garfunkel.
❤️❤️❤️😭
One of their absolute best !!!
My grandpa just died today (7/30/20) and the last movie i watched before he died was called Flipped. I rewatched it again just cause i missed him so much. I had rewatched the movie various times before he died. And this only time, i hear this song, his favorite song playing in the background.
I am crying 😢 A year today my beautiful husband Jim was taken from me hopefully flying high 🕊 love you always and forever Babexx💦
Loved this song since me and my brother used to listen when we were teenagers. He’s passed away since then but think of him when I hear it
Hey Mitchel those brothers had soul, that's what drew everyone to their music. Oh my heart is feeling a little heavy with good memories.
As a kid, this was the first 45rpm I could remember falling in love with. I was a melancholy kid and at 54 today, I am fully depressed....
“Someday I will wear a smile and walk in the sun”
The best harmonies ever.
Simple but Masterpiece it is....
This was played at my buddys funeral in 2015.
What makes it special to me is he played rhythm guitar way way back in 59 and the young lead guitarist he played with became great friends with the Everleys and has backed them on stage playing this .His name is Albert Lee.
