    Totally inspirational. Your positive focus on the blues scale has transformed my learning after years of struggle on sax! I have worked with all the online sax educators - Nige McGill, Jamie Anderson, Scott Paddock and Jay Metcalf and personally find your approach the best for me and my needs.

    Great lesson .. weird , yesterday I decided to take a riff around the circle of Fiths after your previous lesson . More or less the riff in this lesson .
    So will put it together and do exactly as this lesson demonstrates .

    Hello. Yes learning sax improvisation using the blues scales seams to work, and with backing tracks it is really a cool exercice. Hard to stop when you are inspired 😂. Thanks for the video. One day I will have a so beautiful sound that your sound (I hope) ❤.

    Thank you again, Lyndon. I have to comment again on your excellent way of teaching imrov. You keep it simple and explain clearly the concept you are going after in each video. After decades away from playing piano or guitar I decided to pick up the sax 3 years ago and improv was high on my list of skills. I get the concept but couldn’t get it buried in my grey matter. I have some excellent improv courses but I end up putting them down after awhile out of frustration so I haven’t really progressed anywhere. When I watch your videos something clicks and I just get it. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Do you offer Zoom lessons?

    Thanks a lot. I understood that I can improvise just under D7 in this sample in spite of have G7 an A7 ? I don’t have to change to G7 in the G7 section?

      Hi there, you can use a blues scale over all of the chords, yes 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎

      But it’s important to note the guide tones F#-F in moving to the IV chord, and the C#-C in the V->I chord movement.

    Very useful. Not sure if I totally understand the blues scale vs the chord progression. Will a D blues scale cover everything or do I still need to switch to the blues scales of the other keys? But great to listen to your enthusiasm and wisdom.

      You can just use the one blues scale in D, on its own without having to use anything else over the whole 12 Bars 👍👍🎷🎷🤝🤝

    Hi Lynden. Have noticed that your playing the Minor D Blues to a Major Blues backing track on Session Band. Does it matter that it’s Major or Minor backing track? Thanks

      Hi Gary, the blues scale fits nicely over the blues, the blue note that doesn’t really belong there creates lovely tension 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎

    Really enjoying playing with this video. Quick question - first run through you start D F# A B for the D7 chord. Then C B A F# for the G7. Why the F# not F as G7 doesn't have an F# ? Sorry been bothering me 🙂 Keep up the great videos. GeorgeG.

      Hi Lynette, the second chord G7 is a substitute for a D7, and that’s why the F# first 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎

    Hi thanks for the interesting video. I have a question: in a D maj key I would have used a B blues scale rather than D blues scale to keep the F#. Why not?
