Roy you left a wonderful legacy when you passed away 29 years ago (12/8/90) your musical genius was years ahead of everyone else and your amazing voice will never be matched or equalled. I hope your family were proud to have had you in their lives
A very soulful & moving recording. Sadly, probably one of Roy's last home recordings when he was ill (solo, not as The Corries) as his voice is more fragile & occasional tuning issues (as on the other The Long Journey South recordings too) which he never had before. Sad & beautiful.
I'm a new comer to the corries( upcoming highschooler) i found them while searching up loch lomond. I'm from Texas and my family finds me weird, but it doesn't stop me from listening to them. Roy Williamson is indeed an inspiration to me.
Never tire of hearing Roy Williamson singing this truly beautiful song. This recording should be in everyone's collection. such a talent was Roy, been gone a while now. RIP Roy.

What a loss. The Corries were among the forerunners of the rise in Scottish nationalism as a political force. We may have lost the first independence referendum but we won´t lose the second one.

I wish I could hear more sweet voices like Roy's--I'd love that so much! I can imagine how much he is missed. Great musicians go too soon.

Only Luke Kelly's version is comparable both lovely.Lukes powerful,Roy's softer. Love 'em both!!

Last I checked there was a cd for sale on ebay for 13 dollars, but the seller wasn't very reliable.
I think its a total SIN!! you cant buy this album on any other format than cassette from the corries website!
