Dear Andrew, thank you for your visit to our booth and kind words. We're hopeful that we'll have the opportunity to cross paths again at the NEC trade show in Birmingham. 🙂
The 310 needs an outside wall urinal on the caravan, that can be used at night…or on a lonely campsite…known as the travellers Kiss model..an outside caravan wall dump station would be on the premium model. On site you just park it on the hedge side to preserve your modesty.
Great video. I will NEVER understand the “luxury without a bathroom” mentality. To be at the mercy of the cleanliness and availability of public facilities EVERYTIME I need to go to the toilet or shower sounds like a nightmare not a dream setup. There are “full-timers” happy to live without sinks, showers and toilets. I don’t understand how.
I admittedly don't go for the luxury experience, but I'm fine without a shower or full toilet. They take up so much room and the space is pretty much 'single use'. But I do carry a little cassette toilet for emergencies, so to speak. If the public toilet isn't near or isn't .. 'nice', having your own throne is a godsend.
depends i guess. i know people that have a bathroom and barely use it, because they go to places with decent facilities. and then it's just a massive waste of space.
@@no.planman a John in the rig is necessary for emergencies.. Hauling a full size gas cooker around is daft..ask the continentals..especially since the advent of the microwave..unless you live in it full time..remove those dinosaurus ovens and have a dinette instead..
Couldn't agree more! We only use our onboard facilities, whatever the campsite ones. I've never really understood the mentality of only for emergencies and number ones! It's no big deal filling the aqua rolls and emptying the cassette. Well worth it to use the facilities in your own "house"!
I loved the Roam, could totally see that working for us and 2 dogs with the awning version. The Citroen was super, I do love a day van and just thought it such a quirky style, really like it. Thanks for the reviews!
Hi Andrew good to see you back, for some reason my alerts were switched to none. I’m not keen on the view with no loo type,i like my comforts. Look forward to seeing more. All the best to you and yours. Rab
Love the old one from bygone days. Was nicer than some I stayed in!! Slept in a hammock over the kitchen sink, almost glued to the ceiling! Such an adventurous time.
Nice to be in Dusseldorf Again I spent nearly 15 years of my army career in the area, but I don't like the cost today of being crammed into a small mobile vehicle, I was brought up in the 1940's and onwards in caravanning which seemed to be more adventurous than it is now, everybody seems to want comfort, well go use a hotel. I enjoyed my days as a caravanner but am glad I am well past it now, £150,000 for a mobile living quarter you have to be joking.
amazing presentation of some beautiful camping machines. I was especially taken with the Citroen camper car. That will turn some heads cruising down any roadway!
It’s great to see another ‘Düssel- Vlog!’ I would really intrigued to see you tow an Eriba with a Tesla Model Y and compare the different rigs for efficiency and comfort.
Düsseldorf is such an exciting time of the year thanks for the whistle stop tour and obligatory “hellowww,s” 😏 they’re the best bit cause they wide some up 🤣🤣🤣
It's lovely to be able to look round the show without actually having to go there. Anyone thinking of changing their vehicle would do well to search your channel first to narrow their choices down, before doing all the leg work. Enjoy your time in Dusseldorf. 🌞 ilona
@@andrewjditton i would like to see a twin axle on a too short Eriba..an 820 is only 76k…but it oozes poshness and theres one in the UK.. I dont think a car licence is good enough for it..
Loved the video as always, you have a voice that I could listen to any time and your enthusiasm is infectious. I loved the retro look of the Citroen, I'd even have one just as a van to transport our bikes around in. I'd love to see more companies do fold down beds and bunks so you don't have to competely re-arrange everything to go to bed especially when we're a family of 4.
Super Video Andrew. Thanks for bringing us along to Dusseldorf in almost real time, it is never easy filming, editing, and publishing professional videos like yours. Well done.
Being in Japan, I recognised the Japanese 'caravan' immediately! As you say, it is really a camper trailer, void of any washroom/toilet. The reason for that being that Japan has a hot spring culture and plenty of places to go to wash as well as 'road stations', which are a kind of services on non-motorway roads with 24 hour toilet facilities. In Japanese they are called 'Michi no eki' (道の駅). Most motorhomes and trailers built in Japan with a 'toilet/washroom' space, are labelled as 'multi-room'. The fitting of a toilet and shower facility is generally an option. Fun fact, you can actually get one of these trailers for just ¥2,000 (appox. £11.99 as of Aug 26). How? We have a system of paying taxes to any municipality in Japan (to rejuvenate low tax revenue areas). In return, these municipalities offer free goods as gratuity gifts. These have to be from that area and so this caravan is available from the area it is made. However, you will need to be in a VERY high tax bracket to make the stipulated tax donation of more than ¥10,000,000 (approx. £59,930.20). Being in a much, much lower tax bracket, the best items I have got is a Jackery 1000 portable battery (with JVC branding) and a couple of Sigma lenses. This is tax that you would have to pay anyway, but this is a good way of redistributing tax revenue from wealthy places like Tokyo to rural areas and the taxpayer gets something in return!! The ¥2,000 you have to pay from your pocket (not tax money) is essentially a service cost and is a flat rate regardless of your tax bracket.
lol best not take it to Ireland then, natives of Sligo used to say there's wasn't even one public toilet...not sure that changed since the pandemic but mostly not. In my parents generation no one had toilets anyway but there was more privacy and wild areas than today...
Gorgeous! I wish we had access to these beauties in the US. I don’t know why a company like Adria won’t start a division here or buy an existing company. Now might be the right time considering certain RV manufacturers are going to have a rough time getting through the downturn. Your tour of the Düsseldorf RV Show is the highlight of my year…thank you Andrew!
Loved the look of the Citroen Campervan. I think Citroen are missing a trick if they don’t bring out a fully electric version of that! Will certainly be going to take a look in the flesh when it comes out next year 👌🏻👍🏻
Thank you Andrew. You are even faster than the brands themselves! Always a pleasure to see your videos so looking forward to see more from Düsseldorf. A detailed video of all the updates from Adria would be nice 😉
This was a great whirlwind of a preview Andrew! I do love to see the new innovative concepts that come out yearly and they do seem to have a lot of them in Dusseldorf! How do you get around the halls there, on your bike? I'd have to have a madgemobile now, walking distances doesn't work for me any more! Cue the violin! I particularly loved the Irish Roam trailer, that looks really interesting apart from having no toilet as such! Lovely and lightweight, can be towed by almost anything which is why I was drawn to it! Thank you again for showing us these beautiful vans, brilliant reviews, must be frustrating not being able to do them justice because of the crowds! Shall watch the subsequent ones for more details, I hope they have some of those shown at the Nec!! Only going one day this year, too much as I found out the last couple of years! Oh and the Eriba which I know you love, they are a beautiful van!! I, like you am drawn to the Ocean Drive, I love the colours used but that cute little yellow one is lovely too!! Hope you're having a fantastic time with 'the gang'! Take care, love and hugs xxx 😘🥰🐶🐕🚐🚌
Will have to get a look at the Globetrotter/Crafter. Love the Citroen. Can only assume its based on the standard dispatch with a fancy bodykit...would be interesting to see if they offer it as a standard van
Don't Europeans go to the toilet? I'm amazed that so many expensive vehicles, caravans and trailers don't have any form of bathroom facility. This limits their use to campsites only. I'm looking forward to seeing the Eriba caravans, we followed one around most of Shetland a few years ago and I was quite taken by the tiny size. I'd take that Citroen over a boring VW any day of the week if I was still young enough for camper vans. Can you cover some of the demountable truck campers while you are there?
Andrew you keep on smashing these videos out of the park. How did you get this one turned around so fast? I thought you are a one man and two dog outfit.
