  • Im an advocate for the snowmobilers who cant afford new sleds...who ride what they ride because thats what they can afford. Enjoying backcountry riding is not facilitated by the latest tech, its fueled by pure passion and refining your skills as a rider! There is a large crowd whom ride the newest who argue this claim whole heartedly...are you one of them? You be the judge.

Loved those M-series Cats! Had the m6, 7, and 8. Loved ever one. Took Cat till 2016 to build one that handled as good as the old ones😢

Yeah,… bought a 2012 proclimb a couple years ago and never liked it. It was more capable but harder to ride. Now run an ‘18 cat and just love it!

I am with you on that not everyone can ride the latest and greatest. I was one and still am one.would be very interesting to see how these compare in the deep snow. The tune might be a little different. none the less I really appreciate these kind of videos. Very relatable. I have a 13 m8 which can be considered old. But to me it’s new tech. I came off an old mountain max 700 just two years ago. I meanwhile am “modding” an M8 with boards and new style tunnel and I am Going to build 36” a arms for it as well and compare it to my 13 m8 wich is 100% stock My ‘08 has RK tek head and full slp exhaust with boondocker box. I have not ridden the 08 yet as I picked it up this summer but definitely looking forward to it. I may put the “build” on my channel yamabroz for anyone who cares anymore haha!

No lie... the Doo performs better in deep snow, mostly... more power, bigger lugs, higher center of gravity. But... it really likes to was the rear end out. The M8 will out sidehill the Doo all day long.

It was a spring ride at lower elevation.

Pretty terrible comparison In my opinion that almost looked staged in favor of the cat . I know I’m a skidoo guy but I don’t hate the M series I use to have them to . Looks like a old dog stuck in his ways trying to over muscle the sled instead of using less input to control it and just trying to throw it around with brute force because that’s what your use to . Just my opinion from watching that it was painful the amount of over force that was used instead of riding it the way it’s designed. Old habits die hard and I believe that’s the reason your struggling so much to change with the chassis difference

Wasnt staged at all. If you watch very closely, you should pick out what was happening. First clip of the Doo? Watch the front end hook uphill, thats why the sled got stuck. The M8 on the same line held an angle thus continuing iys line. Clip 2 was a wheelie. All season long this Doo 154 wants to wheelie over backwards...and has done so more than once. Watch the M8 wheelie and hold direction while the Doo wheelie hooked off camber while in basically same position. You have to be very aggressive on this platform to feel these subtle tendencies.
