I had a bad tune setup shooting 100 yards nicely but I had to set it at about 103yds to hit at 100... I chose my site tape with 20 and 50yd marks... After paper tuning properly, the 100 yard mark was finally hitting close at 100 yards. How did I even notice that my arrow flight was horrible? Lighted nocks... Seeing that lighted nocks waggle back and forth 15" was eye opening! Also...I could hear it flying bad once my eyes were seeing it.
I did this. When I got my Core SR I checked it and saw speeds of like 280 pre tune. After paper tuning, and it wasn't a big change to the rest/deadlock, I saw 283 after. 300 Rip TKOs 475 grains ish.
Really enjoyed this pod. If you have another Q&A, I’d like to hear your take on large cut mechanicals with high trauma vs smaller cut fix blades. I watched a video with Dudley giving his take on it and found it interesting.
Pool Pod is very cool! The floats could use some work. Maybe a inflatable adult beverage float? I'm in Texas so I'm not chasing Elk but I am definitely learning new things about archery from y'all. Cheers!

Don’t sleep on the afflictor hybrids. 1.5 inch cut, the way they deploy doesn’t seem to rob them of a ton of energy. I wish they’d make a titanium ferrule. Rad makes great broadheads as well with aebl steel blades.

Just paid 100 at the best shop around me to get catfish custom Vec99 stings and cables put on, didnt even put nock sets on the serving which was made perfect for my 4mm halo nocks…and left without putting it threw paper because they told me i had to shoot the new strings a bit first. And its 45 mins away the shop lol had all new techs in there too which i didnt recognize any of em. Kinda sad when you have to tell them what to do and you know its correct but then you look like a donkey

Hey Tim. You mentioned how much meat you get off an elk. Just a thought about how much meat you get off of an elk. For a while I kept record of how much boneless meat from each elk. (10 bulls) A 7 to 800 pound bull has between 220 and 240 of boneless meat. Most cows are between 350 and 600 pounds. so that would work out to about 130 to 175 pounds of boneless meat. Now I'm talking about all the meat you bring out of the woods. Once you start the butchering process you are going to have what I call waste. or stuff you can feed your dogs.. This isn't set in stone there are going to be variables. After keeping track of 10 I figured that was a good average.
So hear me out… all these bows with the core mount bolt holes…. Take the bracket that comes on Pse bows (they have one for qad factory and of course take the core) mount the Pse qad bracket to any bow that has the core mount option then you can use either. Idk why no one’s done this or thought of it. I have a Pse so I was just thinking about it

Stinger broadheads are a local company and they shoot right with my field tips. Elk and mule deer hunting in Colorado wilderness this year ( Drew tag for each) always love your input. 🏹🏔️🌲⛺️🦌
I shoot the evolution outdoors both the 125gr Jekyll fixed and the 125gr Hyde all steel mechanical. Haven’t tested at distance yet but have heard they are sharp as hell and shoot like darts.
Another awesome video. 3 DCA minis with a helical + Grim Reaper Micro Hades Pro fly best for me out to 70yrds! Run the BG Ascent Verdict but switching to the SH Boonie for a multi pin. Joe Rogan and Cam Hanes got me started following Archery influencers, then Elk Shape got me on to you two! Following ever since! Oh and about the cereal question, Just go Carnivore and be done with all the BS foods out there. Cholesterol does not cause heart disease! Eat a good 70/30 Fat/protein diet and forget all the carbs! Your body will repay you for the change!
Would love to hear Josh's opinion about Liftgate. Internet is blowing up with Lift issues. Is there a problem with the bow or is it just due to it being one of their best selling bows ever and the failure rate isnt any higher than previous models?
I would really like to see some broadhead testing done similarly to what Paul Harrell has done with firearms using his "meat target" - hide, ribs, simulated lung tissue, etc.

You should chrono a really out of tune bow, then tune it and see if there’s a change in velocity
I image there would be a big difference. Like 10-15 fps

I know the THP crew used to go to a shop in Iowa to paper tune their bows. They have a few episodes on it. I’m not sure what they do now.
