I’ve been shooting archery for about 6 years and only in that last year, when I started getting “Good” did I develop target panic. Not even in competition but in my backyard alone the pressure to put that arrow in the center of the bullseye is intense. I got to where I could even lift my pin, felt like my bow weigh 500 pounds. Currently trying to figure it out
If you've ever thought to try rockclimbing it's an EXCELLENT way to keep you focused on the present and overcome anxiety, particularly lead climbing on traditional (removable) gear (which 'may' pop - extremely rare), not fixed bolts and brackets (which are bomb-proof). Nothing like the threat of death or maiming to force you to get your sh*t back together. For some icing on the cake, do a Vipassana meditation retreat and learn to control your wandering monkey-brain... My 'positive word' for my shot-cycle, and both of these two activities which have REALLY helped my archery, is "Breeeethe,"
Joe, you seriously need to have Troy Fowler “ranch fairy” on your podcast. Just like Joel, Troy uses science and physics through the study of the Ashby bow hunting foundation to educate hunters on better penetration and people shit on him for it.
I could listen to Joel and million times and learn something new each time
Glad he’s apart of our sheriff office again. (Thurston county sheriff office)
His training is unmatched.
Joel is phenomenal
Amen to that! Best thing I did for my archery and bowhunting was signing up to Shot IQ

Archery is the only sport where the more you practice the worse things can get.
It could be a few things. George Ryles has some good tips when it comes to this on form and the mental game.
I think Joel Turner coached Dak Prescott😂 ...here we gooo
Thoughts aren't thinking

How does this guy explain dudes like Hanes who are immensely successful punching the trigger?
Watch the podcast and find out
Cam says "keep your pin on it" or something similar that allows him to stay present. 1:17ish

Be nice to see Joe go by himself to public land and hunt. Dude has never hunted by himself or without a guide. Not much of a hunter more of a shooter
