ordered a CORE One as soon as I could afford it (a couple of weeks ago) as my trusty Mk2.5S (upgraded from an original Mk2 kit) is starting to show it's age, at 9 years old!! - this is the strength and beauty of Prusa - my 9 year old mk2 kit is still getting firmware updates (as a mk2.5S) was upgraded twice in it's life and is still producing repeatable, reliable and useful prints (I only print functional parts for my hobbies and household). Against my Son's Bambu X1C the prints are looking dated, but the CORE One will fix that 🙂 I'm very happy to pay the "Prusa tax" as I like the company and their founder, I support their community spirit and open source philosophy, and as you say, the industry really needs strong competition, rather than a monopoly from a company in a country with very dubius reputation for privacy!!
You can buy an anti-static spray to treat the surfaces of the door. It does need to be re-applied every so often, but it takes care of it for a while at a time if it's something that concerns you enough to do something about it. You might also be able to do a mod to attach a grounding wire to the door to help continually drain off any static build-up.
@@ShortCircuitedBrewers That works, but as soon as it dries, you're back to square one because it doesn't leave a residue behind that will continue to prevent static build up next time you run the machine. The static buildup is caused by circulating air inside the enclosure depositing electrons on the surface of the plastic. The industrial anti-stat products leave a residue on the plastic surfaces that prevent the electrons from being attracted to it and this residue is a longer-lasting solution. It's not permanent, but it's not an every-time-I-use-this-thing solution either. That's why I also suggested a grounding wire/strap mod. May require more than one due to the size of the panel. Conductive gasketing around the door or select spots for contact to grounded metal is another option to help dissipate the static charge into the chassis. Might require scraping some paint off the chassis to get a good ground connection if they don't have any spots provided. This would be a good and permanent solution, but obviously more invasive.
@ShortCircuitedBrewers or they should have just made the door glass for 1200 dollars? I don't get the pricing of their printers. This looks like a printable enclosure that you could find for free on thingiverse.

Thanks for this great video about the Core One, I'm really happy to see how the footprint of this printer is used so efficiently like e.g. the buildplate holder.
I think if they put a door on the recessed spool holder and had a vent between the spool and the printer to share the heat that it would kind of keep the spoils dehydrated during prints. Just a thought.

I wish they had gone with a larger X and Y axis, even if it meant losing the upgrade path from the MK4. Try rubbing an anti-static dryer sheet on the acrylic to remove the static. Still need to see this work with the MMU for the complete story.

Seems like they've got some dialing in to do. Overhangs, top surface/pressure advance, accel and deaccel on corners and the wispy stringing *which i guess could have been wet filament). Still very excited to see what they do with this and if they can dial it in as good as bambu, i'm probably jumping despite the build volume changes (i like wider, not higher XD)

I feel like all Prusa needed to do to make me instantly buy the Core is make the build size larger than my X1-C. It just feels like too little too late...
After watching the slew of new printers that have been released recently, I can't help but think that they are mostly, "But we have Bambulabs at home".
I think the concave spool holder on the left side is nice in that it makes it look more sleek and compact, but I'm not sure it was worth sacrificing the bed size for it. Of course, each user will have different wants and needs, but if I had to guess, I'd probably say most users would agree with me that they'd rather not sacrifice the plate size for the spool holder pocket. Especially if an AMS system becomes available for this and then they end up no longer using the holder on the side and then the pocket is just wasted space.
I agree about the plate being a bit small, but it's not because of the side pockets. It's because the nozzle can't run further to the edges. They designed the printer around the standard print sheet and found the volume of the pockets to not being used. Without the pockets, there would simply be air. The CoreXY frame sits above them.
" I've added some custom text to the boaty to compare different printers that I have " Proceeds to 3D print it on the Core One while the text says MK4S lmao
Not gonna lie, at 10:40 I thought the printer had some serious under extrusion issues until I noticed there was shell around the splits and that it was a part of the model, lol.
Nice that you at least mentioned the noise level and that it is good but for someone who have to print in the living room, next to the childs bedroom, (where noise and fumes are priorities over speed) I want to know (much) more ;): - Is there a silent/slow mode? If so... - How much of a difference does it make (just a littel, MK levels, even better)? - Does the fans also gets quieter or just the motos and rails? - Can it be set during the print on the printer (from my wife, if I'm not at home) or from the smartphone (if she calls me angry;)? - Are you think the fans are top notch or can we upgrade it with Noctuas? - Is it possible to pause the print mid print in the evening (again, from the printer and/or smartphone), if silent is still to loud, and go on in the morning or is this a problem for layer/bed adhesion? - How much slower is it in silent mode (the most silent if there are differnent steps)?
The Mackerel is molded, not 3D Printed... let's get that straight first of all. 😂 Seriously though, good look. Glad you're happy with the experience so far! 💪
Looks like a very nice printer and I see why the build volume is the size it is but for the price, might as well build a Voron unless you just don't like to assemble on your own.
I'm really confused by the title, last I checked prusa has the prusa XL and that's a core XY printer, then they also have their prusa print form printers which are also core XY base. So how did they finally release a core xy when they already had core XY?
I got he Bambulab P1s and is awesome, print success every single time and super fast. I would wait for the new printer bambulab will announce this year ,ad looks like is going to be a big format one.
@FinepixF30 oh, for sure. Definitely going to wait to see what their new printer will be, but with the drama they've been having the past few weeks... I'm a little more hesitant about buying from them.
@jobeall5078 as you said, is drama. People are over reacting some people are even paid by competitors. They complained about security, and when companies do something about security, then it's bad. All I can tell you is that in my 10y in 3D printing, nothing has ever come close to the quality and reliability of Bambulab printers.
I ordered both new anycubic printers. I have been using a vyper for 2 years but the strain gauge died so i tried to replace it 3 times but would not work. Can't wait. Though if i dont like the core x y i may get a prusa
Yeah the upgrade path sounds nice, but the only upgrades i did to my mk3s+ were all non Prusa upgrades. (Bed, linear rail, quick change nozzle) And upgrading it to a core one makes no sense, as that path is actually more expensive than a core one kit. But the core one will be on my wishlist, right behind the fiber laser.
Soooooo i read that about halfway through the print 😂 which is why I stick to PLA, PETG, TPU 99% of the time... however I might get a filter and start running ASA & ABS
This will be good for people looking to get into a quality core x/y, but not good enough for someone to replace their X1Cs. For me the X1C killer will have to have a materially larger build volume, which this doesn't have.
I still feel like this printer is a bit of a miss for the price. i get the desire to have an upgrade path but at some point you have to just move on and allow for larger formats. Being the upgrade is only from the MK4S is super limiting. It just seems rushed and not refined like most of Prusa's product. The camera is a big feature that's an option and not well implemented.
I don't want to complain about them too much but mk4, xl and now this. All were released too early - unfinished features and stupid issues regardless of the delays in release. This trend has to stop
I agree I'd buy two p1s or the new crealty one out instead and never look back. Everything about this seems insanely over priced and behind for twice the cost.
@@ZerocoolsPropsandCollectibles including a brass nozzle in an enclosed printer, at this price, is ridiculous. Even P1S, which is way cheaper has stainless steel that will wear out slower than brass. Who buys an enclosed printer to print soft materials? 1 spool of any cf filament can cause a significant wear on brass. Also 55 usd for a hardened nozzle? That's several bambu's hardened nozzles...
I would have been okay to pay more for a larger print bed instead of those added 'extras' of where the spool is stored or... ? You were reaching for what to do with that second space. Don't really care about cool fish magnets (or otherwise). Rather have a bigger plate. Or you know, a printer I can use my other plates on. It's why I won't look at the core 1.
28th. 😊only because my Prusa mk3s still works without issues, I don’t need fancy new speedy stuff and wifi. And I’m still sore all the influencers helped me finally spend my savings into buying a Bambi x1c, which I’m not scared to even open the box and use 😅(it’s past the point of return for refund)
I wanna see the Elegoo Centauri Carbon!!!! Core One is priced decent it seems but should include a multi material system for a couple hundred more...maybe upcoming...?? I would rather have lower pricing and slower tech support (NOT non-existent) myself but everyone is different.
Why do you lie? the prints don't look good! especially the feet, there are a lot of defects at the corners where the painting head changes the direction
Wow prusa final made a printer that I want to buy, but like most prusa printers it's expensive, now I'm not trying to say its over priced as it seems like your going to get what you pay pay for and by that I mean a very high quality printer that dose what it's supposed to without having to fix every week 😂🤣, and I feel prusa is a company you can trust.
Yo Jessy, How could you manage to get a bit older on the eyelashes? so unique, so caracteristic that, i kind of admire. Thank you for the good work, here have my like.
Upgraded from the mk4 to the mk4s and its been consistently frustrating. Lots of failures, really sensitive to materials compared to the stock mk4. I think there is probably a lot of firmware refinement still needed. When it prints to completion it prints great.
I live for the comments in any 3D printing channel/community. Are some companies better than others and still playing catch up? Yea of course! But we vote with our wallets and the decisions are ultimately ours on what we want to buy. I wish this was a hair cheaper for the build volume, but god this is a sexy machine and the standard of quality in their customer service and support is enough for me to pay the premium. Are there bigger/cheaper printers? Yea of course, but if something catastrophic happens to the printer, I’d rather not have to sacrifice a kidney to get a hold of support to get a replacement. Keep pushing the envelope my fellow nerds and makers!
I want to escape Bambu Labs ecosystem and had some hope this would be the machine to do it. Sadly, it just looks ... adequate. Is just me or does this seem about three years too late to market?
Really looks like a nice printer but once again it's too small. I understand that a lot of people at home don't need a much bigger printer but something between 35-40cm would be perfect.
Hey Uncle, quick question. I preordered the anycubic Kobra 3 max which is a bed slinger but I hear all these talk about CoreXYs being much better. Did I screw up for not waiting for their big xy or is there a lot of difference between the 2? :(
Everyone complains about build volume, but for virtually everything one might print, that is just not a factor. If you have a business printing and selling cosplay helmets and armor, then maybe you need a bigger build volume, but 99% of users are not going to run into any problems with the size of this plate. The Uncle Jessy audience is probably more into cosplay than some other audiences, so I get the complaint here, but for a general user or someone newly interested in 3d printing, I don't think build volume should be a big consideration.
@@NFenchak1986 fully agree with you on this. Heck, even most of the stuff I print and sell would all fit on this just fine. It’s definitely the I don’t have it but potentially need it factor… especially for cosplay prints.
@@kimmotoivanen yuuuup. I currently own a mk4s and a Bambu p1s. Moving forwards, I could see myself owning 3-4 printers, so I would want to have some parts commonality between them, and the core one grants that with my mk4s. I'd also prefer to only need to use one slicer and one app/network to control all of my machines, so despite the added cost of Prusa vs Bambu, it makes sense to me to go for a core one next. *Edit -- not trying to make this a Prusa vs any other brand comment. Lots of folks make great printers nowadays and different people have different needs and desires.

Seriously though, good look. Glad you're happy with the experience so far! 💪
youtube deemed your comment unsafe and held for review 😂🤣
Looks like a very nice printer and I see why the build volume is the size it is but for the price, might as well build a Voron unless you just don't like to assemble on your own.
I'm really confused by the title, last I checked prusa has the prusa XL and that's a core XY printer, then they also have their prusa print form printers which are also core XY base. So how did they finally release a core xy when they already had core XY?
Maybe he was thinking first ENCLOSED core xy?
he didn't break the door, 100% Jessy proof
If that build volume was larger this would definitely be the printer for me, but right now I'm probably going to get the Creality K2 Plus
The prusa XL is also coreXY and has been out for almost 2 years.
the door is uncle jessy proof!
watching you swing the door was a long scary minute...=P
they have already mentioned they will be updating the buddy cam firmware for full streaming
Another great review!!! Thanks for using our files!
Was seriously nice printing a few of the parts together thanks to the taller buildvolume... now if I only had life size Knuckle Gloves 🤘
(Bed, linear rail, quick change nozzle)
And upgrading it to a core one makes no sense, as that path is actually more expensive than a core one kit. But the core one will be on my wishlist, right behind the fiber laser.
Carbon fiber PETG with a brass nozzle will destroy it fairly quickly right?
Soooooo i read that about halfway through the print 😂 which is why I stick to PLA, PETG, TPU 99% of the time... however I might get a filter and start running ASA & ABS
Yep - I edited my order to add an obsidian nozzle due to this. I’m interested in printing PA12CF and PET-CF so it’s a must have.
I'm just here for the door test.
As someone who was this 🤏close to getting a P1S, i'm looking forward to the Elegoo Centuari Carbon.
👀 soon
The P1S is proven and awesome, but you go with that Elegoo.
Picking up another P1S Sunday lol 😅
I love my prusa
As said before, this is the one im going to get, so i will say bye bye to my Bambu Lols x1c :) lovley review
This will be good for people looking to get into a quality core x/y, but not good enough for someone to replace their X1Cs. For me the X1C killer will have to have a materially larger build volume, which this doesn't have.
Totally agree, this is a very little step by prusa to aproach the market but not enought. Bambu is way ahead with an "old" printer.
Yeah. I don't know why I'd pick this over a P1s, nevermind replace my X1C
Did u do a video of making the airless basketball in flexible tpc filament at 120% scale yet
🤣 not yet!!! But soon. Waiting on replacment parts for my K2 Plus
Open source is a big thing. Recently bought a P1s and now it suck that they are so anti consumer. I will be going the klipper route with my P1s
I hope you can afford a solid table soon!
No kidding. There's just no way all the brilliant people at Prusa can't do better.
@@Ringwraith19 maybe they're not that brilliant and just had a hit in the past and couldn"t move past it fast enough? haha...
That's several bambu's hardened nozzles...
it is not Prusa, it is Proosha !
High chance they might sale a conversion model for a bigger bed. That storage is just a waste of potential.
Am I crazy or do the prints from the Elegoo CC video you just posted look way nicer?
Prusia made the door, Jesse proof
Personally if I am to spend $1k or more on a 3D printer I want a minimum 350x350x350 build area but that's just me.
iirc, door is polycarbonate, not acrylic, so should be super durable.
Is it really that wobbly when printing, or is it because of the way you were playing with the door?
Can it do multi color prints?
I’ll stick with my bambu for the AMS alone. Prusa multi material sucks and usually over priced.
If it was 300 cubed I'd be buying it tomorrow
What types of printers are the AFS and XL?
Wow prusa final made a printer that I want to buy, but like most prusa printers it's expensive, now I'm not trying to say its over priced as it seems like your going to get what you pay pay for and by that I mean a very high quality printer that dose what it's supposed to without having to fix every week 😂🤣, and I feel prusa is a company you can trust.
Prusa gave the printer pockets… cool
Hows the door?
anyone know what hellboy file that was? not linked in the description
Shoot.. I just added the link in the description - www.patreon.com/c/yoshstudios/
Yo Jessy, How could you manage to get a bit older on the eyelashes? so unique, so caracteristic that, i kind of admire. Thank you for the good work, here have my like.
The default nozzle is non hardened. You did change the nozzle for the petg CF, right?
Made in EU and open-sourced !!!
What are your thoughts about how it compares to the K1 Max?
OMG, what is it with you and printer doors? :)
I want to escape Bambu Labs ecosystem and had some hope this would be the machine to do it. Sadly, it just looks ... adequate. Is just me or does this seem about three years too late to market?
it is. by features and build quality alone the k2 wins over this easily. but creality cant do software.
Really looks like a nice printer but once again it's too small. I understand that a lot of people at home don't need a much bigger printer but something between 35-40cm would be perfect.
need that walter white
Does it allow full control of the printer by third party software like Orca Slicer ?
Asking for a friend.
- a Bambulab user.
Always, its a prusa after all.
$1200?! For that? Voron v0 Kits are 500-700. Ooof, Prusa is falling behind and trying to catch up
lol. These things are going to be flying off the shelves as fast as Prusa can make them. I think Prusa is going to be just fine.
The core one looks slow for an xy machine. Do you feel the same. I didnt see anything in the video talking about speed vs quality.
Hey Uncle, quick question. I preordered the anycubic Kobra 3 max which is a bed slinger but I hear all these talk about CoreXYs being much better. Did I screw up for not waiting for their big xy or is there a lot of difference between the 2? :(
Did you happen to text with any detailed miniatures?
I need!
Everyone also not realising that if one has had MK3 or MK4, one can use existing build plates 😉
