Used to watch the trawlers come in and out of the harbour some jumping the bar to get their catch to the market Scary stuff the sea when it starts to rage
Crazy how these beasts are bow heavy with all the ship infrastructure while aft it's low and pretty much nothing. Amazing it doesn't get swamped in high seas! Respect to these balls-of-steel mariners!
Saw a video taken inside a ferry at night . It was smooth & then bang it hit the waves . It was rough that night. Many people were seasick somewhere on the boat. I was there in August , that’s what the conditions looked like.
Norway only allows Norwegian-registered, Norwegian-owned, Norwegian-crewed, ships to work in its offshore oil industry, so Norway has thriving, highly-paid seafarers whose skills are in demand all over the world. Britain betrayed its seafarers during Maggie Thatcher's merciless war on British blue-collar workers, and allowed foreign-flag, foreign-crewed ships, hired on starvation wages, to work in the British sector of the North Sea, driving the British out. The Conservative Party could reverse the disastrous decision, but would rather not have British workers paying taxes. Smart huh?
They have to be highly paid: beer in Norway is £12 a pint! Anyway Alan Knight, very economical with the truth there boy but don't let it spoil your story mate. Britain has been shackled by EU regulation whilst Norway is not. It's the EU that decimated our entire seafaring industry. Mind you, it has had the assistance of a succession of weak UK governments thats for sure. Maggie for ever!
if there's great lakes,, oh my there's also great waves,, you found it here,, once you heard north seas, or north atlantic sea,, they going to bounce your ship like a basketball
swells not that bad its not 30 to 40 feet of swells. . USA help people all over the world with there ship vessel. good show. thank you. some of my friends working in the north sea on oil rigs. Who cuts hair cuts on the oil rigs in the north sea???

This is not heavy weather. It is a normal sea state.
