I really didn't understand what you were saying. If I have a dent on the outside of the car, do I try to shrink it from the out side or what? Bondo 🙂?

Ok this started off confusing because the title said Reverse Curve confusion but the panel you showed was NOT a reverse curve! But you got the confusion part right. 😂 I think I know what you were getting at but it wasn’t as clear as your other videos.

I understand the concept, panels are generally convex therefore a dent in them usually shortens the distance between two points meaning the metal is somewhat compressed and needs to be stretched (with dolly and slapper) to be raised back to be level with the convex surface. But I don’t think this can be an absolute rule, it must come down to the relative radius of the panel and the dent. If you have a panel with a gentle convex curve, say a 1m radius, and it has a small sharp but deep dent, like a pick hammer dent of say 5mm radius, then I would have thought that the metal must be stretched just like it would be on a flat piece , and shrinking it would help to raise it?

I was really enthused about how to make the repair with no access to the inside of the panel. What happened?
