Whew boy, they put a lot on foreign men.. they'd be disappointed. Men are men no matter where they come from, some better than others some worse. It's just how people are, if you find a rude and mean Japanese boy who pays you no attention and isn't someone who says thank you then you can find that in White, black, Mexican, Etc men. It doesn't really matter.

All the dishes are copying from India and just changed to Japanese version. What a pitty conditions of these people. They don't have anything to do their own.
It was fun to listen to that guy talk about how he thinks it's fun and cool when foreigners are a bit more outgoing than them, and are willing to talk to Japanese people they don't know about each other's lives, because when I go to Japanese bars and pubs in Tokyo, I do this, and the Japanese in general seem to like this quite a bit. I've met a bunch of nice people, and talked a lot about various things. It's a good opportunity to practice my Japanese anyway, and likewise some of them seem to want to practice English with me, so it's useful and fun for everyone. I'd like to make it clear that I'm not being too forward, pushy or annoying or anything, if people don't want to talk I leave them be. It might very well be the Japanese people I'm talking to that started the conversation sometimes too. Because of how Japanese people are more reserved than many westerners, and because of how important poilteness is in Japan, I think some foreigners are understandably worried about appearing to be too outgoing and/or rude, which is a legitimate concern, but please don't overdo it either, or you'll miss out on so much! Japanese people like/are interested in you precisely BECAUSE you are a bit different from them, and because you can more easily do certain things that they can't do very easily! It's the same the other way around too, after all, right? :-) I recommend foreigners in Japan to have the guts to TALK to people! Even if you've just met them! At least in bars and pubs and such, the Japanese there are usually very happy to talk to you, and will appreciate and enjoy it just as much as you! Just like the guy in the video said. :-)
As a Japanese living in US, I agree with you guys. I really wish I could strike a conversation with strangers in Japan like in US. Actually I do it anyways but usually don’t get a quick response, because people are not expecting a conversation from a Japanese looking guy (unless you’re in Osaka where I’m from).

It is more a question of autonomy and competence, than feminism (or hate of men) that women refuse to be helped by the opposite gender. So don’t take it personally. Especially, if you are a person that helps everybody and not only the ones you feel so attracted to that you want to get into their panties. People feel that and might tell you no for that reason. Just because there's movies like Intouchables and Huitieme Jour that are written platonically, If you've actually watched them you'd see the "caring frenchman" is something they get guilt tripped into, So that doesn't make me feel like I'd want to have them close to me. (especially since they've shown a unnecessarily violent tendencies to people that "wronged" them.)
The two guys who were interviewed kind of depressed me. I’m a very free human being. I express myself fully and seeing how they had a desire to do the same but couldn’t, I’m assuming because of their society, made me quite sad. It takes courage to stand out, especially in Japan but if it makes them happy, I really hope they do someday!
I felt the same, the women want them to care more, be fun and more relaxed and lively (at least I read that between the lines), but it is sad that the men think they need to hold back and be controlling themselves (and others) to be accepted Japanese men.
Judging from all the interviews like this that I’ve already seen, you just need to do the “ladies first” and you are already halfway to dating a Japanese girl.
"in Japan women are expected to do cook and men work" That's every country. I hate to say but they seem to have this really unrealistic standard that men do all the work AND help the housework. When in reality they help a bit then just focus on work.
The truth is there are many different people in every country. There are Good People and bad people in everywhere. The country doesn't matter when we talk about relashionships. The most important thing is the personality. If you want someone sweet, gentle and that loves you, you can find it anywhere.
I lived in Japan for 5 years. I understand what sort of foreign men they like, and to be completely fair, it's not that hard to meet their requirements (compared to your usual woman in the "west"). However, there's a few problems to most "foreign" men and some of them reside in the culture: - Japanese people, especially women, don't like "smelly people". If you're a foreigner, you'll have some issues with this at first because you're either used to living in high humidity places or you're going to suffer A LOT. If you're moving to Japan, best advice anyone can give you is to either take or pre-order some smell-free dehodorant from your own country as those sold in Japan will most likely not work on you, at all, for the first 6-9 months; - Another issue is that beards are usually a no-go there as well. Few can get away with it, sort of, but most of us can't, and most of men can't be bothered shaving every day unless you're already used to doing so. Besides, I don't think men like to see themselves without a beard once they're able to grow one, so there's a hard choice to be made there. Now for the part where their requirements are not that hard to meet, but it's actually tough for a foreign man to adapt to: - Japanese people are not that loyal. The loyalty part they mention they like so much is because it's a major fault on their culture. It's HARD to find a japanese person, male or female, that doesn't cheat; - Their work and general culture makes it difficult to date anyone. Not only do you need to have extensive knowledge of logistics to find an opening in both your schedules, you also have to be mindful that being lovey-dovey in public is a massive no-no. It's easy, but hard at the same time. Japanese culture and "western" culture clash on far too many points to make it easy, but the "standarts" women have are easy for foreign men to accomplish. And the biggest wall a foreign man can face is the cheating part. I couldn't bring myself to date a japanese girl while I lived there because I couldn't be bothered to live with a constant question like "has she cheated on me yet?" on the back of my mind. Quite frankly, all the other issues can be somewhat solved with time spent living there, but the the cheating part alone is just not worth the hassle, especially for those who take relationships, intimacy and trust seriously. In fact, that issue is so big in Japan that women AND men literally expect to be cheated on relationships. If that's not a serious red-flag, I don't know what is.
I lived japan too, and cheating was the last thing I worried about! I think the foreign guys do the cheating, not the Japanese women. I think Japanese women who are attracted to foreign guys are very loyal. If you spoke fluent Japanese and were hanging out with really popular ones, then maybe not. Japanese culture is fairly conservative. I have a beard, but off it comes when I go back to Japan. I'm not stupid.
You make some fair points but some I disagree with. I lived there 3 years and dated a different girl every week. And I have a big beard. And I'm bald. And I don't speak Japanese. I workout a lot, don't dress that well (sports clothes mostly) and I'm 6ft tall. I didn't encounter the smelling bad part (actually girls used to snuff me saying they loved my scent) but I did swear profusely during the summer and I hated that 😅 About Japanese girls not cheating... They do. As far as I'm aware non were cheating on me but I did sleep with a teacher who was 25 and had a Japanese bf who lived 2hours drive away and she never mentioned him while we were together. A year later they got married and had a baby. He still doesn't know I banged his girl 😅

A good way to win a heart of a German girl is making her lough. Girls get comfortable with guys who are funny. Faithfulness and reliability are great points, too. Not being to chubby but being into sports and therefore, have well-trained looks helps also. And behaving like the typical gentleman is also going to make you popular.
I noticed that they list personality traits more than physical characteristics. Personality traits they believe are rooted in certain cultures, like the one who said she likes Italian guys because they seem to care about their girlfriends. They seem way less superficial than American women for sure but they also need a serious reality check about how European guys are. I'm half German and Japanese and most guys I feel are pretty much the same everywhere.
Those first two girls had some big misconceptions about “foreign” men. First, what is “foreign”? There are 196 countries in the world, and every part of the world has a unique culture. And, most Western men are not how those girls think. A man who does all the chores while his wife does none is usually considered kind of a loser. I know marriages like that, and they are sad. The wife thinks, “Oh, he’s so good to me, because he loves me.” But, she’s not even attracted to him, and she cheats on him. Anyway, I’ve heard a lot of the same misconceptions from Chinese women, because I live in China. It looks like some Japanese women have gotten the same ideas. Whenever a Chinese women tells me something about what she thinks foreign men are like, I have to quickly correct her.
You know its quite funny how cathy has interviewed so many girls on this so many times but the one time she interviews two dudes they give the most intricate response shes ever gotten.

We're actually fairly well known in Japan for judo, Dejima and tulips. That's usually the stuff Japanese strangers I meet know about. As far as I've seen there are few that don't at least know one of those three.
Probably? Probably not? Japanese people dont really see too many foreigners. They are more closed to the outside world compared to many countries. They probably have twisted preferences and stereotypes by watching western tv
I love the fact u showed lgbt man opinion as well. I was watching thinking like: "too bad it will not show a gay guy talking about this" but them u "HEY, SEE THIS"
This is why I'm drawn to Japanese women, because they appreciate Gentlemen qualities, like chivalry, kindness, respect, and loyalty. Even fantasize about my marriage to a Japanese gal, that she and I raise the childern together. To be the role models of what kind of people they should be. That and other romantic scenarios, like lifting her into my arms and telling her how much she means to me, and that we shall go to our home, together. You know, mushy stuff like that, which I secretly crave. Major plus on the snuggling in bed, and me being too lazy to get up and she's trying to pull me out of bed lol Also, Sass, though lesser men don't like it when they get sassed in private (not in public, because hey, you got to be the man in the relationship and make good decisions), but I love it. Mostly because to me, that's couples bantering and finding renew love when we know we're the only people who can stand each other. In my opinion, yeah, it's good to love the best in someone, but it's way more special if you can love the worst in someone.
I can't comment on what type of guy I like because I don't swing that way, no offense to people who do. I can say to me race doesn't matter as long as she has a good heart and open mind. Bad attitude is such a turn off
Exactly, and what it seems to be the case... Japanese men are falling out of favour for decades now, very uncaring and genderless is not helping ... A man must be strong and tender at the same time . Not a spineless creature.
Quite funny how they admire Europeans for their height but in other videos they find tall European guys to be scary and intimidating. Quite confusing really 😂
Hahahaha your image of how tall a 1,90m person is it's really far from real 😂😂 as a 1'96m tall guy what you pointed in the video looked more like a 2'10m person haha 😂😂

Because galanterie is stupid. Helping people based on their gender is hypocrite and is an overused thing for starving guys who think they're being owed something in return, which is very embarassing socially for women. In Japan they're not used to that type of behaviour and are far more habituated to having their "private space" respected so it doesn't come off as such. Btw there's more gender equality in France than Japan, like the first girl lamented.
@@irokosalei5133 You're mistaken, when you're "using" galanterie, you don't expect anything in return, that's the point. There might be more gender equality in France but it's impossible for a girl to walk in the streets of Paris wearing a skirt and heels without being catcalled : it's not real equality if girls get harassed.
Many of them seem to really appreciate manliness. I'd like to see a video of their reactions to Masculinity being under attack in other parts of the world. It doesn't need to be serious, just a simple reaction would be interesting to watch.
I think it’s really less about nationality than it is about appearance. Doesn’t matter what country you’re from - if you’re good looking women will notice and be attracted. If you’re fat and bald you’re an underdog, if you’re fit and attractive, you’re in. However, in Asian countries dark skin is seen as the labor class and not as desirable which is why they try very hard to not get tan.
I am French and the first girl talked about a French man helping her in the airplane that was very gentlemen of him. I wonder what the girl that I helped in Akiba station think of me. For me it was just normal to help her out but this lady said she was surprised so I wonder what that girl thinks.

only subcultures know about hispanic, latin or caribbean culture. In Osaka and Tokyo they have salsa clubs and bars, reggae lounges and such. In other cities there aren't as many. I'm in Nagoya and there is a Latin festival and a Jamaica festival. There are many food vendors and bar/restaurant owners that come out to these events, so it's the best place to find out about local businesses that represent those cultures. If you go there, you'll find the Japanese ppl that are into those cultures and have probably traveled to those countries. There are tons of Brazilian places here cuz of the Japanese diaspora there.
Very interesting on liking black men and their build. I am very surprised with how tolerant and accepting the recent Japanese generation(s) are, while still retaining much of traditional values. Of course there's always exceptions, but just my broad observation.

I lived in Japan for 5 years. I understand what sort of foreign men they like, and to be completely fair, it's not that hard to meet their requirements (compared to your usual woman in the "west"). However, there's a few problems to most "foreign" men and some of them reside in the culture:
- Japanese people, especially women, don't like "smelly people". If you're a foreigner, you'll have some issues with this at first because you're either used to living in high humidity places or you're going to suffer A LOT. If you're moving to Japan, best advice anyone can give you is to either take or pre-order some smell-free dehodorant from your own country as those sold in Japan will most likely not work on you, at all, for the first 6-9 months;
- Another issue is that beards are usually a no-go there as well. Few can get away with it, sort of, but most of us can't, and most of men can't be bothered shaving every day unless you're already used to doing so. Besides, I don't think men like to see themselves without a beard once they're able to grow one, so there's a hard choice to be made there.
Now for the part where their requirements are not that hard to meet, but it's actually tough for a foreign man to adapt to:
- Japanese people are not that loyal. The loyalty part they mention they like so much is because it's a major fault on their culture. It's HARD to find a japanese person, male or female, that doesn't cheat;
- Their work and general culture makes it difficult to date anyone.

They seem way less superficial than American women for sure but they also need a serious reality check about how European guys are. I'm half German and Japanese and most guys I feel are pretty much the same everywhere.
I think they are giving a lot of credits to europeans
Btw, I love the way you're doing your interviews. It was fun to watch. Keep it up !!
The lady in the white turtleneck at the 1:33 mark is absolutely adorable!!
It's almost as if they would show gratitude if I were to be chivalrous and demonstrated good manners. American women just expect it.

As a french man who was educated to "galanterie/galantery" it's funny to see that it is criticized in our own country by... neo-feminists 😅

She was struggling to put her lugage in one of the coin lockers so I took her lugage and placed it in. Thanked her and left. For me it was just normal to help her out but this lady said she was surprised so I wonder what that girl thinks.
C'était peut-être la femme de ta vie.
I really like that you don't embed english subtitles in your videos.
no one ever comments on how well japanese dress compared to westerners... shit is crazy lmao
I presume that's why there are virtually no Japanese in Ireland/Dublin. They've seen how most people dress here, and Nope.
this channel is fun to watch. want to watch more. :D
It's weird that the things that a lot of these women appreciate are things that the American and European women are trying to stop lol
I'm from the Netherlands and I can tell you that everybody is tall and muscly here, okay maybe not everybody is muscly. We cycle everyday to work or school and take care of ourselves. However it's subjective to say the ideal foreigner, I think. I personally believe it's Japanese women for me! (Japan is foreign to me seeing I'm from Europe)
I guess the European males are the more preferred ones as an ideal foreign partner. Due to their good height, muscular features and decent behavior.
South American men are also quite popular. At least, in the West.
As a Mexican the only thing that I have to be offer is a tortilla (Also we are like italians but with less money and more spicy food)
these girls are naive and childish af
Ardyn Izunia lol truth 😁
That's what you get
If you have a closet culture
@Will Black yes I know,
That's what the comment up top says too
I love your channel and it led me to do more research on Japanese culture but havnt seen much or anything relating to Spanish, Hispanic or Latin culture or spanish men, or spanish music or caribean culture. Seems like mostly just talk about white or Europeans. If you can Cathy Cat try to do more videos about what they think about Latin culture or music. Im from NYC and my family is originally from Dominican Republic 🇩🇴. ✌🏽
ありがとう
only subcultures know about hispanic, latin or caribbean culture.
Believe me, 99% of Japanese women do not like black men.
It is just a random dude on the street out of like a few people interviewed. You should really stop building your general opinions on such little information, however nice and/or how well they fit with your personal views.
@@stylishskater92 Take your own advice? You think I waged my opinions on a single person's response on a YT video?
You are actually coming to conclusions without even asking for more details. You should get more details before coming to conclusions, because you were wrong. Perhaps take your own advice to start before lecturing me.
Perhaps ask for details before making assumptions.
dagda3000 Not true bro by a long shot
@@dagda3000 what you talking about?
Hi cathy cat: on the next video can you interview boys on their perspective on "ladies first"?

Ok, so I have to go in Japan! (I'm Italian 😅)
LOVE your hair Cathy =)
This is my new favorite anime
Lol
Obviously I don’t think it’s everyone, but Japanese men need to be less shy, more straight forward and more confident sometimes. I’m saying this because that was me at one point and I see more of it.
If you are an impatient guy, good luck with Japanese girls lol
Nani News Finally a comment that makes sense lol. All these weebs being creepy as hell in the comments, thinking a Japanese girlfriend is like some magic fantasy land. When in reality, they’re one of the most difficult girls I’ve ever had to deal with. They have no chance.
oh this video is about to get lit 😂🔥
... lets not forget beauty is in the eye beholder 😙
